Kaiser Permanente in Vallejo, CA is great! I've received all my medical care there all my life. Both my babies were born there. Those were pleasant experiences. I even received gifts like a free breast pump & comfortable nursing gowns to take home. Knowing their employees are educated & passionate about their work & there to take care of you & your family is comforting. Their cafeteria is great & even has Starbucks coffee to offer now which is my favorite. I also love their breakfast croissant with egg, ham, & cheese! It's always very clean even in the restrooms! When you have multiple appointments in 1 day at Kaiser, so reluctantly go the the Hospital Cafeteria for lunch... The special of the day is Posolé, the cooks looked legit so I took a chance... Huge Bowl full of meat, hominy, and a delicious broth. Plus all the trimmings on the side My Husband Had Tuna Melt, and some Sushi. He thoroughly enjoyed his food as well. Best breakfast burrito EVER! Eggs w. Potatoes, cheese & your choice of sausage, bacon, or ham. Paired with a sour cream & a salsa in the to go container, served freshly made & hot.. heavenly! The staff is solid & they care about the food they are preparing. I'll go out my way just to make it here before 10:30 am for a sausage burrito. Kaiser is the worst healthcare system. They don't care if their patients live or die as long as they make money. As a matter of fact, they actually killed a friend of mine who had kidneys that were failing. Instead of putting him on dialysis or giving him a life-changing operation to save money, they just threw pills at him and he died at the age of 28. My best girlfriend is in their hospital right now with two heart attacks. And they tried to get her to leave the day after her second heart attack. No talk of putting her in a nursing home or what kind of care she's going to get. Just you're ready to go home. Even though she is repeatedly passing out and her heart rate is dangerously low. If you can avoid Kaiser do so at all costs. read more

I unfortunately spend so much time in the hospital sometimes I have to eat there. Well...I have to speak on the BOMB baby back ribs! I saw it as special #2 and asked an employee that was ordering it how was it. He said I had to try it so, I did! And boy was I in for a surprise! Those ribs were soooo tender! The meat feel right off the bone. The sauce was even good. We ordered two orders so we could take one home. The sides included mashed potatoes with gravy and steamed veggies. Next time I'm there I HOPE they have the ribs again. The salad bar is pretty good. I've gone when they first open and everything is really fresh and cold. *The line for the grill is usually long so have some patience. Often times there is only one cashier so again have patience. Food at Vallejo Kaiser Medical Center cafeteria is plentiful and has surprising variety. When I have doctor appointments that run long, I come here to get the tapioca cup and Peet's coffee---thank you. Or, I get the Tuna Melt which is pretty good. You can find a quiet place for yourself among all the tables but wifi is patchy. Overall, pretty good food for a hospital cafeteria. read more

Every single time I have to come here I encounter at least one employee with some kind of attitude or just simply does not care. It is getting ridiculous. And what's more frustrating is that this is the only option for healthcare that my work offers. If given an alternative I would leave immediately. If you have a choice, go elsewhere. read more

The ordering process was very confusing. My husband & I ordered Power Scramble Omelet which we inputted into the system. It was suppose to include spinach, onions & tomatoes. The meal we received was just plain scrambled eggs which appeared to be flakes and hash brown. My husband was charged an extra $0.99 for mushrooms and $2.00 for hash brown. It was the worst and expensive breakfast for getting almost nothing. Cashier wasn't very friendly either. You're better off just going to a McDonald's. read more

I was really surprised. I thought all hospital cafeteria food sucked! One day I was their visiting family, and they told me how delicious this place was, so I gave it a shot. I had the hot pastrami and swiss. It was about $4.50 and was ready in under 5 minutes. It was delicious. I dont think there is any other place in Vallejo that makes a Pastrami sandwich, nonetheless this good. It almost looked like a BLT with cheese. The lettuce and tomato were both very fresh, and thinkin about that hot pastrami and swiss is making my mouth water. It sounds weird to say but I will definately be going back to the hospital for a sandwich. read more

I have eaten almost all of the items on the lunch menu. I guess that is because there is nothing I would order again. The lunch specials aren't very that tasty, the burgers are just alright, and the burritos are okay. for a lunch with a drink, expect to pay almost $10 and wait almost 15 minutes at times. If there was anything else around, I would go there, but they seem to have a monopoly on hungry employees who forget their lunch at home. If you are visiting a loved one in the hospital, you can stop here for a meal, but I would never go out of my way to go here. breakfast burrito still pending. read more

Yes, I came here just for the food. Having to be somewhere near here in the early morning, and with an empty stomach, a stop here was a no-brainer. I will always get the breakfast burrito if I can. It is basically a tortilla wrapped egg scramble with a good amount of bacon and potatoes. Great deal, too. Parking can sometimes be a challenge, with a rush of people for the early morning appts. There is that newly refurbished lot next to the employee health portable, but they drastically reduced the car capacity, which is good because the old one was quite a cramped fit. There is electric/hybrid only parking (about 10 spaces) right at the entrance of this lot, but you'll always see "regular" cars taking those spaces. Oh well, can't really complain too much since it is a pretty convenient privilege to have when it's available. read more

Breakfast is pretty good and pretty cheap. The egg/cheese/ham breakfast sandwich is my fave. Other breakfast staples are the chorizo breakfast burrito and the banana pancakes. You can even pre-order breakfast before you walk down! Lunch is pretty expensive for cafeteria food. Staples of lunch is the chicken pho on a cold day, the BLT, and the avocado bacon cheeseburger The owners are Korean and their Korean pork tacos are the bomb. I expected more out of the bibimbop, but it's actually not very good. p.s. Don't get excited about the garlic bread, it sucks. I'm not even sure you can legally call that garlic bread. The service here is usually good, however today we order two #2 which was brown rice, vegetables, and salmon. It looked great on other peoples plates, however on mine it was frozen and raw in the middle. Was really hungry and ultimately excited to eat but after cutting into the salmon seeing the raw and frozen texture I was no longer hungry. Please cook your food thoroughly read more

Make a nicely prepared Phō on the spot which tastes longer than some of the other foods approx. 6-7 minutes to prepare. Although I'm not big on waiting in lines their grill line is fairly efficient& the employees are typically helpful and friendly. Their salad. At always looks both fresh and clean and as it help yourself and sold be weight, you can purchase immediately. All in all some of the bed hospital food I've eaten. read more

I have had an amazing experience at this cafeteria but my favorite spot is the Cafe inside the medical Office building. The specialty coffees are amazing, but im sadden that my favorite barrista is no longer working here. If i remember her name correctly, I think her name was Monica or Veronica. She was very attentive, nice, friendly, outgoing personality, and my drinks were always on point! Every time she saw me, she knew exactly what i wanted and way better than Starbucks. Unfortunetly they are not allowed to have tips which is rediculous...they deserved it. I still come here for my coffee but its just not the same as hers. They keep getting new employees which probably means management is not good, if the good and hard workers are leaving. read more

I have been here at least five times. I tried the asada tacos (good), turkey burger (good), and chicken pho (meh). I also had the spicy pork chef's special with kimchi and rice and that was really good. Will be coming back here tons more! read more
