The peanut butter and coconut chunks definitely added heft. I loved the texture of the coconut chunks that added a chunky bite, whereas the granola added a light crisp. The textures were really fun to eat. The açai base wasn't overly sweet - Cons: aside from banana, any other fruit is additional $2.50, which is pretty pricey. In total, my bowl came to $20. We stopped here in our way back to the hotel. It's right off the highway so it's very easy to miss if you're not looking out for it. The portion sizes are very large and shareable. I got the King Kong and there was a ton of toppings for an acai bowl. We had a large party so it did take some time for the shaved iced but the acai bowls were served quickly. I recommend getting the acai bowls over the shaved iced. There are better shave ice places on the island. There are a ton of benches as well to eat!! read more

I hadn't really had an acai bowl when I tried this place, so I couldn't fully appreciate how good it really was until my girlfriend and I started having acai bowls together at different locations. I stopped at Kalalea Juice Hale on the way up to Hanalei and I'm still dreaming about it. This was hands down the best açaí bowl and had the best smoothie of my life -- not even exaggerating. Everything tasted so fresh, perfectly balanced, and made with really high-quality ingredients. Staff is super friendly and you can tell everything is made with so much love here! It's such a cute little stop if you're driving up the North Shore. The whole place has a really relaxed, healthy, island vibe and it just feels like one of those hidden gems you're so glad you found. 10/10 highly recommend trying this place out if you visit Kauai! We tried 2 different acai bowls (King Kong and Mo Butte Mo Betta), one of their smoothies and their cold brew. The prices were about par with other acai bowl places compared to ones I've gotten on O'ahu. And the portion sizes were good. We enjoyed everything we ordered! The seasonal fruits: papaya and lilikoi were yummy and worth the extra $2.50 each. This place does get busy and we were told it would be about 15-20 min wait. There was a good amount of tables to sit at and even a covered area for if it rains. The workers were very helpful in answering my questions and I even heard one suggest alternatives in place of items other customers didn't want in their açaí bowls. read more

Quite a unique stop on our day trip up to Hanalei with delicious bowls and unbeatable views. We stopped by this slightly unassuming stand just off the main road because we'd heard the acai bowls were great. We decided on the king kong bowl because we love a little pb in our acai bowls. It came out quickly and we grabbed a seat with an amazing view of rainforest greenery and mountains. The bowl was beautifully presented with the bananas delightfully decorating the side of the bowl. Sometimes acai are piled so vertically high that its hard to get it all in one bite, but this shape allowed for some delicious bites with all the toppings. My husband and I stopped here on our drive from Princeville to Poipu, and it was such an amazing experience. They really embody the alpha spirit, and the woman working was incredibly kind. My husband is allergic to tree nuts, so he couldn't have their granola with contains almonds. The woman working recommended some fruit toppings instead. The açaí bowl had one of the best bases I've ever had. The fruit was fresh and delicious. The smoothie was delicious and filling. We felt SO GOOD after eating these. Such quality here every time! Carla is always such a joy to interact with. I love that every ingredient here is local and organic. The view is unbeatable. I tried the Matcha Mama and woooww it was one of the best matchas on island! I truly gulped it down, it was so delicious. I often dream about my mo buttah mo bettah bowl but it sadly just wasn't the same this time around! Last time, it was flavorful and full of nut butters. This time the flavor was lacking and the butters seemed a bit drawn back. Not sure what it was but at least all the ingredients were fresh and the bowl was still enjoyable. Best Acai Bowl on the island. Best Acai Bowl I've ever had in my life. I came back 5 times this trip to get the M'Buttah Mo'Betta. Perfectly tangy and flavorful açaí smoothie. 3 creamy and delicious nut butters (obsessed with the macadamia one). Perfect granola, seeds, honey, rose petals and moringa. What they created is alchemy. A perfect balance. One more ingredient would have been too much, and one less, too little. A beautiful banana halo around it. I will dream of this when I'm back on the mainland. I got it both with and without the addition of the fruit salad. I actually preferred it without because it's already perfect and the fruit salad was heavy on coconut meat and I'm not the biggest fan if you like it definitely give it a try! Wish we could go back to Kaua'i just for this acai bowl and smoothie!!!! We ordered the Mo' Buttah Mo' Bettah acai bowl, lilikoi smoothie (it was one of their specials of the day), and Ninja Shot. The Ninja shot had tureric, ginger, fresh coconut water, and lemon. Amaaaazing! Of course if you don't like wellness shots I would not recommend it. The Mo' Buttah Mo' Bettah Acai Bowl had an acai blend, topped with local granola, local bananas, macadamia-coconut butter, organic almond butter, organic peanut butter, housemade moringa leaf powder, hemp seeds, rose petals, and honey. I was worried that there were too many toppings to really enjoy it, but all the different flavors complimented each other and it was so delicious! Our lilikoi smoothie was absolutely amazing! I didn't get a picture of the ingredients, but it had coconut milk, lilikoi puree, with lilikoi seeds, and some other amazing-ness mixed into there. My kids grabbed 2 cups of coconut meat from the reach-in refrigerator and said it was the best coconut they ever tasted. So fresh! The staff was so friendly. There was a braddah in the back that talked story with my husband for a bit and was so friendly. The lady in the window made the best recommendations and they did not disappoint! There's a stand with fresh fruit (and I believe there were some vegetables) for sale. The seating area is absolutely beautiful. This was a disappointing experience. The matcha latte "matcha mama" had absolutely zero flavor, tasted like straight milk. All of the syrup or honey fell to the bottom and the dried rose on top added nothing. The açaí bowl though was the true disappointment It's what we were visiting for after hearing great things. We ordered the special, which was advertised as coming with a lot of fruit on top: papaya, mango, banana, coconut, and lilikoi. It was a messy fruit salad with majority of chucks of coconut, 1 piece of banana, 1 tiny piece of papaya, and maybe a few speckles of mango. There was also a tiny little bit of granola added on one side of the bowl. It was almost inedible with how much coconut was added, as it overwhelmed the entire bowl. This will not be our stop for us in the future, as there are so many amazing options out there. Service was fine, but not much interaction. The ambience is nice as you can sit outside on picnic tables and the location is right off the highway. read more

The Next Level bowl? Lived up to its name! For someone who had low expectations coming into a place that specialized in Acai Bowls, I was so pleasantly impressed with this place. It all starts with the location itself - nicely situated off the road with its own private parking spot with the appearance of a niche coffee-shop/shack and the vibrance of a rainbow, this place is extremely pleasing to the eye. The picnic area outside is a wonderful spot to enjoy your meal with some campy picnic tables with Hawaiian Hibiscus as its centerpiece. The whole bowl was wonderful. Perfect mix of textures between the mushy banana, crunchy granola, and gritty coconut pieces - so delicious, hearty, and (hopefully) healthy! Wasn't terribly crowded, service was fast, and quite honestly this easily became one of my favorite bites in Hawaii.
