Favorite coffee in the city. I come here every morning on the way to work. The Clayton location is a little quiter than the Demun location beause the patrons are mostly working professionals. My only caution is don't think you can swing in at 8:45, grab your latte and make a 9am meeting. The baristas take time crafting your coffee so make sure you have a solid 15-20 minutes to wait. Also, no drive through. This ain't no Starbucks which you will quickly realize when you taste the smooth, rich flavors of their brews. read more

One of, if not the best place for coffee in St. Louis. This used to be my weekend stop for coffee until I got hooked on the Pi Coffee Bar (I like the quieter, laid back atmosphere at Pi as this Kaldi's is often very busy on the weekend mornings). The espresso drinks here are always well made and done so with care. It can take awhile to get a drink when they're busy, but that's a result of them making the drinks the right way. read more

I absolutely love this warm and cozy coffee shop! The people that work there are very nice and cheerful, especially Raya. She makes a delicious chai drink (cold beverage) and their coffee is very tasty, hands down 10x better than Starbucks.. OMG I almost forgot to mention the yummy pumpkin scones! its a bite of heaven!! yummy..or the banana chocolate chip bread, wow! That's all I can say. I have yet to try their food, I keep hearing good things but this place is definitely my new default for coffee! :) read more

The staff here is absolutely splendid and very kind. I forgot to order breakfast sandwich without meat but they remade it without any question and quickly. They even gave me 2 Kaldi's cards for free coffee the next time I come in just for the mistake. read more

I love Kaldis. I love the coffee, the staff, location and venue. I live nearby and wish I could go there to get my work done but the WiFi is so terrible that every time I go I find myself having to leave to go somewhere else where the Internet works. This has happened several times and I now find myself driving further out just so I can get decent coffee and good wifi. It's too bad because the coffee is great. read more

Closest coffee place to my work so I stop in here pretty often for my mid-day caffeine fix. The service is fairly quick, unless there is a long line, and the baristas are very friendly. Nice atmosphere, if a little dark. But then again, I guess that makes it cozier. The place where you wait for your coffee is a little awkward, but like I said they're fairly quick so it's not a huge deal. The coffee is good. Definitely the best in the immediate area. I will say when I first started going here I thought the consistency just wasn't there, but recently it seems they've really stepped up their game. No complaints. In fact yesterday I got an iced breve and it was pretty much perfect, especially in the 100 degree temps we've been having! They have a new menu with what looks like some pretty good lunch options. I haven't tried myself but I hope to soon. You can get a punch card for lattes and coffee... 10 punches = a free one (I think). Parking here can be a bitch. There are a few metered spots in the wine shop lot, and a parking garage behind the building that houses Kaldi, which is almost always full. I usually walk here, so good luck with parking. read more

Great place to study and grab a quality cup of coffee. This location serves the business types that work in downtown Clayton but it doesn't get to noisy. The baristas are talented and very nice which is not true for other high quality coffee shops. I had the latte and enjoyed it while I got some work done and people watched. read more

Excellent caffeine option for a weekend morning in the neighborhood. It's pretty popular but the staff do a good job of keeping up with the demand and the service is very friendly as well. Whenever I visit Clayton, this is always one of my first stops--great coffee, great customer service, great food--I especially like the breakfast burrito with sweet potatoes (why does no one else do that?). For lunch, the flatbreads and the salads are also fantastic. Wish one of these would open in Salt Lake City! read more

Just home from school. Stopped in for an iced vanilla latte and a brownie. Even better than I remembered. The vanilla was sweet without hiding the fair trade certified espresso used. The brownie was thick, rich and chocolatey. It was a great Friday afternoon pick me up. read more

Kaldi serves the best coffee in my opinion in Saint Louis. Because I go to this location, often the welcome me as soon as I walk in, no better feeling then that in the morning. I'm ultra impressed because they have a water fountain dispensing 5x filtered water, so usually I drink plenty of water before get my coffee. If I have an empty bottle I fill it up with the quality water they provide. I go out of my way to come here because I support small businesses. Good fact is my coffee usually smells and taste better than everyone else because I get mine from Kaldi. Get coffee and get high & prolong your life. read more

I've been to Kaldi's before since it is right across the street from where I work. I, however, have never tried anything for lunch until today. I picked up the Roasted Vegetable Panini and boy is it fantastic! The bread is nicely toasted, it's not overly cheesy, like most vegetarian options, and for the size of this sandwich, the price is very reasonable. I had to wait approximately 5 minutes, right before the lunch rush, for them to make this, but I would rather have a fresh made sandwich than some pre-packaged "thing" from another famous St. Louis sandwich shop...I'll be going back soon! read more

I have been going to Kaldis for years and the culture it embodies is truly the most warm and trendy. The baked goods, specifically the scones and zucchini bread, are high on my list of best bakery items in STL. I went to the Chesterfield location today for brunch with family and I have to say that I was so disappointed with the customer service. The woman at the POS machine taking my order (she has short black hair, dont know her name) was so unbelievably rude and blatantly unfriendly. She looked angry and like she wanted to yell at me. No sense of patience and kindness. I don't understand why those people work in customer service positions. The customer service at the Clayton locations are wonderful though, so thank you for that! read more

This place feels way more Boston or Seattle than St. Louis. Good spot for coffee or breakfast/lunch. Super tasty wraps (black bean and mango is my favorite), good spot for vegetarians. Sort of hipsterish staff line-up, which is kind of not the norm for St. Louis (I like it though). They're pretty nice too. Hard to find a seat at lunch sometimes. read more

They really put hard work into their coffee..I remember my first time at Kaldi's I wasn't expecting a heart in my coffee but there it was. The atmosphere is great for getting work done, catching up with a friend, or helping my grandkids with homework. I recommend that you try their spinach salad. My fiance and I were in St. Louis last weekend for a wedding and I had to do some work so we came here so I could use their free wifi, and of course I purchased something. There isn't a lot of selection on the menu and most is healthy vegan/veggie stuff. I had the turkey, apple and cheese sandwich and it was very mediocre. It was on some kind of whole grain bread and tasted all around too healthy for my tastes. It was also really dry. This might have been better if I had it with the mustard it came with, but I don't like mustard. The chips that came with it were fantastic - they tasted exactly like the chips at a restaurant called Chips in Ankeny, Iowa that (shockingly) is famous for its wonderful chips. I don't think the chips were made in-house though, they came in a little baggy labeled "Billy Goat Chip Company." My fiance had a juice that he wasn't wild about. The free wifi is a nice touch and worked very well. I can't say I really recommend the food but its a cute place with a nice staff. read more

Third time is supposed to be a charm, right? Not at this Kaldi's location. Three times I've been in here and every time I've been treated condescendingly. Each time I've spent over $30 buying coffee beans and still the baristas are bored with answering my questions. This third time as I picked up the two bags of coffee the barista asked if I wanted a bag. I said yes. He opened a bag and shoved it across the counter. He couldn't be bothered with the concept of "customer service" and put the coffee in the bag. It wasn't busy. One other person was at the counter. What a crew of pretentious pr!cks. The DeMun location puts this little crappy operation to shame. The DeMun baristas are always happy to answer questions about the different coffees and never treat customers with condescension. I'll never darken the door of the Clayton location again. read more
