Good service but food sucks my husband ordered huevos rancheros beans looked like they were weeks old the rest of plate looked bad. I order New Yorksteak and eggs look good but first bite horrible my kids thank good they order eggs and pancakes and bacon they said it was that bad we did not eat anything I call the waitress and she comes back to tell me she has not had a complaint all morning I did not want to argue with the sweet old lady she did offer my any else but what I saw in two dishes no way manager never came by to check on us or take care of the food that wasn't touched or something so we just paid and left not even a sorry we left I tip cause I don't think is the waitress fault. We tried Kalico Kitchen for the first time last night. Same exact menu as Cozi dinner but specials are on different nights. Our server Jenne was great and the food was tasty. I ordered the Reuben sandwich and it came on marble rye. It had mayo instead of the traditional 1000 island, and it was a good change. The fries were cooked perfect. If you like Cozi but prefer a quieter place try Kalico Kitchen. read more

I was pretty disappointed with our experience. The staff was nice, but the food was not great. We went on St. Patrick's Day for corned beef and cabbage. The meat and cabbage were pretty good, but potatoes were under cooked and carrots were over cooked. I took my toddler in to use the restroom and it was so discussing that I took her out to the car where I had a portable potty. I don't think I'll be going back. read more

I've been eating there far too much recently but I LOVE the hometown food!! Kids eat for 99 cents and it even comes with a sundae for free that mom and dad love! My husband is very picky but there is nothing he doesn't love there. And don't even get me started on the service. I've NEVER had a bad waiter or waitress at this place...they even tag team you! The Managers walk around filling your drinks and check on you while the waitresses woo over you and your kids. One girl really stood out to us, her name is September. She was so nice to our kids, ALL of the staff has been great to our kids but her name I do remember. I believe the manager had to re-clean our table when we sat down. I ordered pancakes that I did not expect to come with strawberries and they were terrible. My friend's hash browns were under cooked. When he mentioned it to the waitress she said, "Oh...did you want more?" Ummm no we do not want more under cooked food that taste terrible. When asked what we would like to drink they forgot to bring the waters for the three kids. All in all I will not go back to this place. This diner is a real gem. Large portions, fair prices, and friendly service have kept my family and I coming back for several years. The food, as best as we can tell, is always made fresh, and is low in preservatives. Aside from a few of their "diet" pies, there are also no artificial sweeteners used in their food. One word of caution, though... if you order anything with country gravy, you should probably get it on the side, as it tends to get put on pretty thick. Also, if you have sulfite allergies, you should be aware that they use Heinz tomato products, which can cause you issues. My absolute favorite place to get Breakfast at in Chico! I have lived here all my life and I cannot believe I have been missing out!! The food portions are HUGE and the pricing is great. One night several months ago I ordered a steak dinner and at the first bite, a bone chip got stuck in my throat, and drinking water only made it worse. My husband and I were seated at a booth by a manager and he got us our drinks. It was maybe 10 minutes later that the manager flagged down a waitress to come take our order. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, so maybe we weren't in anyone's assigned section. She came by to take our order and that's the last we saw of her from a while. The manager had to come give us refills. By the time we saw our waitress again she was delivering us the food. The cooks forgot to dress my husband's burger appropriately so he got a plate of side items that he had to put on himself. When our waitress came back by she asked us if we wanted to go cups for our drinks. We weren't even finished eating, so I have no idea why she asked us that. To rush us out of there maybe? Not like it was around closing time or anything, so I have no idea what the logic behind a to-go cup was as opposed to just filling my glass. I noticed that it wasn't just this particular server that was a little off. The rest of the customers had trouble flagging down their servers and looked pretty disappointed in the service they were getting as well. When she brought our bill I requested a slice of pie. She made a comment about how pie makes you fat, which is utterly disrespectful and rude considering I'm a bit overweight. That kind of customer service gets a lonely one star. read more

We were looking forward to a nice juicy burger after reading other reviews, so we each ordered the "Frisco" burger with sour dough French bread, tomatoes and Thousand island dressing. Unfortunately, the burger came out with nothing but onions and a bit of lettuce on the side, not enough for both halves, no tomatoes at all. The toast was soggy, and not very sourdough, and the hamburger meat was not ample, dry and starting to turn. The dressing didn't reach the edge of the toast. Cris is a friendly great person and waitress who was my waitress when I first started going there a few years back but our crew and waistlines got larger so we had to relocate into the larger room. Please avoid their steaks- thin, poor quality shoe leather unsuitable for your dog to gnaw on. Their salad is lettuce and a couple croutons, clam chowder is too thick and tasteless.
