We shared the breakfast that had 3 scrambled eggs with biscuits and gravy and breakfast potatoes. SO MUCH FOOD! Plus got crispy bacon on the side. It was good and we had plenty of leftovers! Saturday morning breakfast at Mom's is a little chaotic walking in, but worth every minute of the wait. The restaurant is super cute, the breakfast food came out hot and fast which was a problem, because I made the rookie mistake of bringing my college student. That plate was gone before I could say "how's school going." I ate my breakfast at a carefully guarded, leisurely pace from the far side of the table like a lioness protecting her kill. No heartburn. First time here. We were in town on a Sunday morning very early for a 9 am graduation and arrived early enough to get some breakfast with a friend. Cute spot with booths all over and a friendly staff. We were greeted and seated right away. I ordered the breakfast sandwich which is on a croissant with smoked bacon strips, avocado, mixed greens, bacon jam and two eggs. Instead of the potatoes, I got fruit for an additional $3.49. The sandwich was ok and I usually like bacon jam but I didn't like how sweet it was on this. The fruit was a sliver of orange, a very soft and super thin sliver of flavorless watermelon, a few slices of strawberries, a handful of blueberries and a ton of thin sliced apple. It wasn't great and I gave the apples away. I would have preferred just berries and for the additional cost, it would have been worth it. Randy ordered The (Not So) Standard Benedict and said it was only ok. He didn't like the super soft potatoes that came with it so he didn't eat many of them. His very thin slice of watermelon on his plate was also soft and flavorless. Our friend ordered the French toast and said it was good. Server was friendly. Food was served warm, not hot. Biscuit was cold and hard. Had to ask for butter. No choice of Jams, only pre-served, dry looking, apple butter. Requested soft scrambled eggs, they were dry and cold. Potatoes were also not hot. Prices reflect quality. read more

Great Chico breakfast spot! I have never had a bad dish here. The food is fresh and tasty. Very open and clean dining room, with seating available also. Our server was quick with our coffee and made sure our cups stayed hot. I had the Bacon Benedict w/ bacon Hollandaise which was delicious! My wife had the Bacon & Eggs, and the eggs were perfect! The food here is SO good. We've been twice now. The first time we got the Corned Beef Hash and the Farmers Breakfast. Both were delicious and I made two meals out of the Hash. The second time we had the pancakes and the Green Eggs and Ham Benedict. We made two meals out of each of them, and the Benedict was one of the best I've ever had. The only problem we had was, that our waiter never came back to check on us either time. We ran out of our beverages and really had a hard time getting his attention to have him come back to the table both times. Be aware that it's downtown, and you must pay for parking. read more

A serviceable breakfast in downtown Chico next to the bus stop. The farmer's breakfast had 2 eggs, sausage, potatoes, and a biscuit. Everything on the plate was hot and fresh. The eggs were cooked over medium and the potatoes were buttery but not crispy. I prefer crispy so I can mix it with the egg:) The house made sausage has a bit too much garlic for my liking. Still, the charm of the physical building is really cool and the service is excellent! The price was fair and the portion size was ample. read more

Finally got into this very busy restaurant on a weekend no less. The places is pretty big, nice decor and they have an amazingly large and friendly staff on hand. We really like how the menu is incorporated into the table, convenient and clean. This is a breakfast and lunch only place, in case you didn't know. I ordered a Bloody Mary, wife had a peach cocktail. Excellent mixologist. Wife had the Eggs Ranchero's sans the cheese and I had the Chicken and Waffle plate. A nice spin on the Ranchero with a winner sauce. I don't think I've had better fried chicken. Fall off the bone goodness. A light and tasty waffle made this a perfect meal. The college crowd, large groups, young people made it a pleasant and interesting dine. Certainly worth a try but I think the secrets out. I ordered the California Breakfast sandwich and an iced white mocha. The service was good and food came out very fast. The mocha had a good level of sweetness, but coffee flavor could've been more prominent and stronger. The sandwich itself was okay, with fresh ingredients but definitely could've used some more seasoning- it didn't even taste like salt was added to it. The potatoes were less than decent- soft and soggy with once again, no flavor. This was my second time coming here and experiencing a bland meal. Definitely not worth paying 25 dollars for a quick bite. read more

This was our first time here! We read about Mom's but we were never able to make it out. We were pleased to be able to come to this establishment for the first time with my parents and we were not disappointed. The check-in was easy, and everyone was friendly from there on out. Stepping into the restaurant was amazing! It felt like we were in someone's preserved hall of memories, but for moms! We were seated fairly quickly with a wonderful view of the whole restaurant. The service was quick, helpful and worked with our dietary restrictions. While we waited on our order, we took a moment to walk around and take everything in. Our drinks were amazing - hot, flavorful, and deserved more sips to savor the flavor. The food was off the chain. I had the healthy nut omelet and that was the BEST use of garlic in an omelet I have ever had anywhere. The potatoes tasted great although a little salty for my own taste, and the french toast was fluffy, and tasty. We were happy to be able to come in, and we may have a new favorite spot for us to bring our family and friends to. Kudos to the chefs, the waiters, and the whole staff. We will be back! read more

Pros: great menu, great options and has alternatives to milk. Great coffee and the food was delicious. I feel for the pumpkin spice filled pancakes and they SLAPPED! The fill was a cream cheese pumpkin mixture. Big portions! Fun ambiance across from the Bear. Cons: parking can suck. Be sure to pay whatever parking meter you use just in case. Our party of 4 visited Mom's on the Friday morning of graduation week, expecting a long wait for a table but to our surprise, we were seated within 5 minutes. Our party ordered a chicken little omelette, a gnarly scramble, veggie lovers scramble, and a buttermilk pancakes. All were delicious and large servings where a couple of to go containers were needed. The Apple butter was different than expected and was more like a jam than a butter, but good nonetheless. My girls tried a mimosa for the first time and liked them. My wife had a cappuccino and was warned that it was kind of dry and they were right, probably a little too much foam and not enough coffee but my wife still enjoyed it. Service and hospitality was excellent from everyone we encountered and the vibe very homey. Wish we were in town longer to go back and try the lunch menu as it looks as good as the breakfast menu. Now that my daughter has graduated, she has decided to stay in town to continue her education, which may give us a chance to come back and have lunch read more

Heard about this place for years. Was in downtown and figured I would give it a try. Came on a late Friday morning. Place was not busy, they sat us in the smallest table with the place being almost empty. Food came out quick, however never saw server again. Food was average, nothing spectacular. Took them forever to bring my check, because the waiters and waitresses were busy engaged in conversing with one another for a long duration in the main room. City of Chico charging for parking!!! $2. Raised price of drinks an food!! $11. For a Bloody Mary, that's worth maybe $8.?? Got Biscuits an Gravy, not enough gravy to even cover biscuits, charged $5.50 for extra gravy!! I could understand maybe $2.!! Then Butte County 9.25 tax!!! Hands down, the BEST BREAKFAST & VANILLA LATTE ever!!! @ Mom's Restaurant in Chico, CA. !!! Yeah, I said it. I had the absolute BEST Veggie Scramble and Vanilla Latte I've ever had, EVER in my life. It was so freaking good. I ate it all up, even though I was full halfway through. I finished it off, no regrets. Veggie scrambles are my thing and I can honestly say, Mom's version is the best I ever had the pleasure of savoring!! It had fresh spinach, zucchini, squash, broccolini, cauliflower, mushrooms, bell peppers, and cherry tomatoes, with Jack cheese, and chimichurri sauce. All of the veggies were so flavorful and at peak ripeness. The bacon was just as good, so mouth-watering delicious. To top it off, my Vanilla Latte was Amazing! Like, how did they hit the mark on Everything?! It was so busy on a Sunday too! We got there @ 11:10 am. We put our name down, the hostess said, "It'll probably be 20 minutes." It was 18 minutes. The restaurant was at full capacity and on the warmer side. Our waitress Karen was very friendly and punctual throughout our meal, and our food came out quicker than expected! The eggs Benedict here is FIRE!!! It's so good. It's usually pretty busy but still get tended to often enough for great service. The weekends you might want to plan extra time due to the long line. I have come here for years and I hadn't been In a while because last time there a literal pebble/rock in my food......it was really crazy and I just never came back lol so fast forward a few years and I decide to come for mimosas and brunch. We get there and they had us wait about 25 minutes, which is fine. I understand they're busy even though there was plenty of empty tables. it was a very sunny day so we asked to not be sat in the sun, as they had given us the option in the beginning, but that was like the only choice they had so we ended up sitting in the sun. The table was very wobbly and the menus were super crusty. Like yolks on them I should have took a pic.. we were waiting for a while and had gotten our food and asked to get some mimosas to which they informed me they kitchen closed... like girl whatchu mean we just got sat and our food??? The service wasn't the best..Then the food wasn't even that good! Like the potatoes were soggy and egg was overdone when it was asked to be over easy. lol just really crazy how everything went wrong, it was my boyfriends first time there and he was like what is this place... he said it tasted worse than dennys and I was like omg no way oh!! And the tomato slices for my burger were FAT, like a mouth full of tomatoes, lol like why so fattt so I asked for thinner slice and she brought back 4 more the SAME size I was dead lol... I told her I feel bad about wasting the ingredients but they should change the size on their slicer or something... or just tell them to. Make thinner slices as requested? Lol and it had a plastic wrapping on it...but that's fine mistakes happen. But gosh there is a line lol, and I see a few more reviews this place I think is just going down hill /( Nash's all the way... anyway yeah I feel like there was more and I could probably combine experiences in the past I shrugged off and they didn't care but that's why I haven't been back in years! Tiny little Mom & Pop place that has good food like Mom makes, with large portions so you don't go away hungry. I had the vegie omelet and chose the pancake instead of hash browns. The omelet was stuffed with filling, and the pancake was dinner plate size. I had their house made, Marion berry syrup with the pancake - yumm! This place is busy every time we come in, and they only have a couple of tables to seat 4 people. So the food is tasteful & the serving sizes are great. The presentation of their drinks is cute, but some were strong while others were more water-downed. The reason why I'm giving 3 stars is because of our overall experience. From the beginning, we were told 40 minutes of a wait and then ended up waiting almost over an hour. When we were finally offered a table, they gave us a table that fit maybe 6 people for a party of 8... and they guaranteed us it was made for 8 people. We requested a bigger table, to which they provided after some hesitation but the funny thing is that later when we left, we saw the original table that was offered to us was seated with a party of 6 and it was definitely at capacity. We also felt like we were receiving some attitude from some of the staff, and it was during graduation weekend so I understand it can be busy & stressful but it was overall not our favorite dining experience. read more
