I am a customer for over 25 years. We loved Jean and the food is pretty good. The problem is when it changed hands. Now I know Jean is still the owner but she has a young woman working the register, the incoming orders by phone and packs the food to go. She has a big job especially on busy nights. My problem with her is that she can be very rude to her customers. Jean would have never talked to me the way this girl does. She even hung up on me once! That is no way to run a business, or someone else's business who trust you. When we eat in, my husband like a lot of duck sauce and the little man who is the waiter gets angry for us when we ask for more. The atmosphere in there is not the best and can certainly use updates. I know it is more of a take out joint, but if you have tables for people to eat in, please update your silverware, give it a coat of paint, and change the tables and chairs. The last thing I want to say is about the eggrolls. They are bad. They must have changed the vendor or whatever because they are not good anymore. Never crisp, and just bland. read more

This place is the best chinese take out in Long Beach !! I gave 4 stars based on that alone, but the food is excellent and the kitchen appears very clean. Omg this is the BEST Chinese food I've had in a long time! I've had tried most in long beach and they ARE NOT worth it! Moved to Island Park and these are no better. The food here is AMAZING. Egg rolls don't taste drenched in oil. Boneless ribs are minimal fat. I could actually taste MEAT! Shrimp toast was good. I've always loved Kam Sheng. Their food is always fresh and the shrimp are large and not these tiny soggy shrimp I see at other restaurants. The egg foo young is excellent! I love the thick gravy. The ribs are always spot on!! I've loved them for years and forget the best in long beach...they are the best hands down. This is my second time eating here and the food was consistent. Beef with broccoli was okay but the egg foo young and boneless ribs were awesome. I ordered online the first time and it took forever. Tonight I just called in and it took a half hour. Pretty good spot. read more

I have been ordering from there for YEARS. My children love the food. We have also been ordering from there at my office for a while now. Well, today, our order of "just steamed chicken with garlic sauce on the side" came as "chicken and broccoli" which was 80% broccoli and barely any chicken. I called and was yelled at by the girl who answered. She said we should've called right away so they could bring the right order and take the wrong one away. When I said my boss ate a few pieces of chicken before realizing it was all broccoli under, she said now they can't even take that back because we already touched it, so what are they supposed to do with it now? As if they had planned to resell our wrong order!! This COMPLETELY blew my mind. After continuing to scream and argue with me, she hung up the phone. Now I've working in retail for years and would NEVER speak to a customer this way. This lady needs a wake up call. Such a shame because I really like the food, but this woman was way out of line. I really hope the owner of the place gets rid of her so we car order again. For now, no more kam sheng for us, so she just lost about 5 good customers. read more
