This place is so good for a shop so hidden away! I came during my lunch break and luckily it's right around the corner. The shop was quiet and empty but there was a lady working in the back. Once I decided on my order, I rang the little bell in the counter and she came right out. You have the try the strawberry matcha with boba!! I'm not sure what exact kind of boba she used but it's SO good, it almost tastes like brown sugar boba instead of plain cassava boba. I will be coming back to try more of their menu, I have my eye on the panna cotta! :)
Came by on a very hot Saturday afternoon and wanted to try Kinako shave ice and the Roasted Matcha Latte. Both were amazingly good, especially on a very hot day! The Kinako shaved ice was filled with mochi which was a nice surprise and the roasted matcha was smooth. The owner was really sweet and patient! Definitely will come back for the shaved ice :D
New favorite shaved ice in the bay! My biggest pet peeve is when shaved ice relies on ice cream and minimal fruit but you won't get that here. There was fresh mango in every bite, simply delicious and not too sweet in an artificial way. Decor and ambiance is very mom-and-pop small shop which we loved. Service was prompt and very nice too. Already craving it and wanting to come back!
Little small mom and pop shop in the plaza with Burger King. They have various sizes for the drinks (small, regular, large), and a regular specialty latte ran to about $6.75. Prices are not clearly listed on the menu. Their coffee has quite the bitter aftertaste, so I'd be very curious to try their hojicha and especially the bingsu! PASS: + Honeycomb latte ($6.75 regular) has toasted honey and sugar topping, which melts into the drink about 30-46 min later and helps offset the bitterness. Didn't blow me away though because it just tasted like a plain latte with low quality espresso afterwards
We came in on a Sunday morning and it was not busy and in an unassuming plaza. The lady working was very friendly and we ordered a strawberry matcha and a honeycomb latte. The matcha color was good but it was on the sweeter end probably because of the strawberry jam but it overconsumed the matcha flavor. He got the honeycomb coffee and it was strong and had huge chunks of honeycomb that we weren't sure if it would break down. But it eventually did in about 30 min. The drinks were okay and weren't super impressive but it was worth a try!
I had high hoped for Kamurocho. It's an unassuming cafe that has a relatively simple menu. However, I was incredibly disappointed by their roasted matcha rice latte. I ordered it with regular milk, hoping to get the flavor of matcha more, but instead the drink tasted like roasted rice and milk. There was absolutely no hint of matcha. Definitely would not recommend for matcha enthusiasts.
First of all, the owner is so sweet! She greets you with the most radiant smile. Second of all, these drinks are STRONG. If you aren't a regular coffee drinker, it'll hitttt. Our favorite was the kamo, which the owner freshly and perfectly whisked the matcha for. The honeycomb latte was good but I would have preferred smaller chunks so it can fit in the straw. The espresso is rich and the perfect temp. And you can buy matcha to go! A chill spot with cute little anime decor for my nerds, which I am one so I loved seeing the Pokemon cards and whatnot. Will definitely be returning.
I was looking for Japanese shaved ice in the Bay Area and outside of SF, this is one of the few around. While passing through the area on a warm day with my parents, I remembered I had this place bookmarked so we stopped in for a bit. It was empty when we walked in. We ordered two different shaved ice flavors. A bunch of kids subsequently came in after us so the nice lady had to take their orders before she was able to work on our order. We liked both flavors with my mom liking the mango better and my dad liking the kinako better. The ice was so soft and delicate and such a great treat on a warm day.
Kamurocho- is not the fanciest cafe in the world. But man, it's comfy. We dropped by on fairly quiet, rainy afternoon. There was a large group leaving the cafe, and I thought that was a pretty good sign. We walked inside and found an unassuming interior- but funny enough I grew up visiting many homes that felt the way Kamurocho feels. After taking our order, the lady behind the counter (the owner?) began hand-whisking tea for our lattes. I can still hear the brush swirling around the bowl. We received our order a few minutes later- Mango Kakigori, Black Kamo (espresso & hojicha) Latte, and an Iced Hojicha. The kids devoured their shaved ice while the adults sipped up some tea goodness. It was quiet. There was no music. I don't even know if they have a bathroom or wifi. But we felt at home, at ease. Not every place can do that for you. Thanks for that Team Kamurocho!
Been hearing about this place and finally went under the hot weather to cool down. We got a tiramisu and mango shaved ice and a honeycomb latte. There's only the owner at the time, so the service was a bit slow. She did alternated between orders and we got a shaved ice to enjoy while waiting for the other items. The shaved ice were delicious and amazing! It's airy, soft, and flavorful. The tiramisu shaved ice has cocoa powder and coffee poured over it with boba in the center. The boba tasted so much softer than the regular store-brought boba. The mango shaved ice just has mango syrup poured over it and tasted very refreshing. The honeycomb latte was good and smooth. The sweetness increase as the honeycomb melts into the coffee. The price ($35 total) was on the expensive side but we think the flavors made up for it.
It's been a while since I've last been here (about 2 years) so I was excited to see all the new drinks they had (particularly matcha drinks). Parking is easy as it's located in a plaza and fairly close to the freeway. It's spacious inside with a good amount of seating. I went at around 11:30am on a Saturday right before my movie and there were a few people waiting for their drinks. Drinks were made quickly! I ordered an iced roasted rice matcha latte with oat milk and sweetened with brown sugar then asked if they had a cream top which they were kind enough to do! Service was super awesome and helpful. I would've loved if the matcha was more of a vibrant green but I really enjoyed the roasted rice flavor. Definitely come on by as they have an array of drinks and desserts!
It's a small space, not much ambience and it's a one person operation, but that doesn't stop them from making everything to order. We had the mango kakigori and it was amazing. I also got a strawberry matcha drink, I wasn't so familiar with that combo of flavors in a drink but after some sips I enjoyed it.
Cute little mom & pop shop situated in a strip mall! The owner is so sweet, it seemed like she was the only one working there, she was taking orders, making drinks and making the shaved ice too! Honeycomb Latte: 5/5, I thought it was super unique and loved the little crunchy pieces of honeycomb in the drink! It was the perfect amount of sweet and creamy. Hojicha Latte: 4/5 Also really great but I wish this had more of a hojicha flavor! The grittiness of the drink also made it taste like I was drinking grinds. read more

I've never been to Pleasanton before, and when my best friend suggest that we go over to Kamurocho- I was excited! I love local coffee shops and I was looking forward to it since this place was highly rated on Yelp. The parking lot was small, but for the most part, it was empty since we came at around 5 pm. The shop itself was quite small. At the end of the store led to a sweet, welcoming Asian woman who greeted us with a friendly smile. I looked over the menu and there were many drink varieties. I am a fan of coffee and i'm a fan of matcha lattes. The both of them together? I wasn't sure if I would like it or not. I already decided ahead of time I would order the Kama Latte because I was curious. To my surprise, the drink was quite large and the coffee was perfectly layered on top of the matcha latte. I don't know if there is a traditional way to drink it, but I swirled it around with my straw, mixing the two concoctions. There was a good amount of sweetness to the matcha latte with an undertone of bitterness from the coffee, and unexpectedly, it went pretty well together If you want to go to a hidden gem, definitely visit Kamurocho! read more

Kamo Latte, Honeycomb Latte, and Roasted Matcha Rice taste great from the first sip. The owner gave us a friendly welcome into the store and kindly explained what a few of the drinks are. Tons of interesting options so looking forward to trying more from the menu - we could feel the care put into both of our drinks hearing her make it behind the counter. Also enjoyed looking at the wall decorations which had a very personal touch including customers' drawings of the shop and the owner herself. read more
Shaved ice was okay. Although, for about $13-15 per bowl, it was rather pricey. We managed to finish a bowl in 3 minutes. We were expecting to try strawberry and tiramisu, but I think the owner misheard us and gave us a mango instead. We didn't want to bother her and ask for another one, since she was practically floored with a swarm of customers coming in! It seemed like her coffee and latte drinks are super popular! Perhaps we will come back for her drinks since the ice wasn't anything that stood out to us and were on the pricier end. An absolutely sweet owner though! AC wasn't working and she was running around the entire store trying to get everyone their orders in a timely manner. I hope that her AC works again. She seemed to have a lot of customers who also liked to sit in the shop and enjoy their drinks over a chat! read more
Went to The Singaporean/Malay restaurant next door to pick up lunch and noticed this dessert/drink place. Since I couldn't get the barley drink from the restaurant, I decided to give this place a try while we wait for our food. First impression, there is no menu display in store except for the daily special. I later found the menu on their window, too small in print that you will likely missed. I ordered both the Hojicha and rice matcha drinks. The lady staff (only person in store) didn't ask for sugar level, just went straight to make them. Luckily they weren't too sweet (still sweeter than my usual preference but acceptable). Overall tasty drinks but nothing impressive. For a new business, they need to improve customers' first impression, otherwise it's hard to keep them returning. read more
Kamurocho takes over Cafe Junction's space. infrastructure similare. ordering counter in left corner. take out, outside seating only. offerings: milk tea, specialty coffee drinks, shaved ice. drinks: roasted oolong matcha latte hot (s, 4.50) -medium dark rice looking, strong matcha taste, i like it not too sugary. cold option too. 4 ish stars. specialty drinks are definitely an option to pass the usual milk teas..... - drips: -adequate parking, just configured wrong. cant's just pull into spaces, must back up and maneuver. read more
Kamurocho is really a hole in the wall. High quality coffee and dessert with reasonable price. Everything is simple but nicely executed. Mango shaved ice- Ice is soft, with plenty of mango pieces. Great mango sauce that is acidic and refreshing, definitely not those mango syrup that taste like candy. My only complaint is the size is on the smaller side given the price, although quality if solid. Dirty horchata- Very good dirty horchata. Espresso shot is prepared fresh, and I can taste some cinnamon grounds in the drink. Very small interior, 4-5 tables. Interior is interestingly decorated with Pokemon cards. Very homey and clean. Located in a stripe mall, plenty of parking in front of the store. There was only one lady working in the store, who takes the order, prepares the food, and also cleans the tables. So much respect this hard working lady! Will definitely come back for the high quality food and support this small neighborhood business! read more

cute little hole in the wall matcha/coffee/tea shop. we got a roasted rice matcha with oatmilk and a honeycomb latte with oatmilk. matcha is freshly mixed in front of you and everything is made fresh. the yummiest drinks! will definitely be coming back every time i'm in pleasanton. read more

Matcha was delicious and hand-whisked! It tasted surprising, almost infused with additional tea flavors, unlike other matchas that I've had before. The hojicha was a bit overly sweet, but tasted pretty good as well. read more

My SO and I love Japanese drinks so we yelped "japanese cafe" in Pleasanton and found this cute shop! The lady at the shop was sweet and patient while we decided on what to order. We ordered an iced hojicha latte and an iced roasted matcha rice latte. It was $5 each. Both were delicious but we enjoyed the burnt rice flavor in the roasted matcha rice latte more. We liked that they made these drinks with organic milk and that the drinks had strong tea flavor. They offer lots of unique drinks not commonly found in other cafes in the area. Highly recommend checking this place out if you like coffee, tea and Japanese flavors! read more

Honest review for the drinks would be 3.5/5 but it's a small shop with only one server, Im rounding it to a 4. I got the hojicha and the strawberry matcha latte, requested 25% sweet and oh my God, it tasted like 100% sweet. I do like the hojicha roasted flavor and they actually hand whisk the matcha powder but it was just overly sweet for my preference. For the work that they put into making the drinks, I think they deserve that 4 stars and perhaps it was just an off day that my friends were overly sweet... read more

A cute little mom & pop shop! The owner here is really kind and helpful, which made my experience here even more pleasant. We got the roasted matcha rice latte (sweet matcha milk flavor with a roasted rice aftertaste) & black kamo latte (espresso with hojicha--less sweet, coffee with a hojicha aftertaste). Both pretty good but depends on your own personal taste. She made all our drinks when we were there & even busted out the matcha whisk to make my matcha drink--something you don't see a lot of places do. Would totally come back & support if I'm in the area again. read more

‧  10/10 Dittos! Would gladly make the drive down here any day! TLDR; Super sweet service and delicious kakigori. I've come here twice now, once with my friend and his brother and brother's wife, and the second time recently with my bestfriends. Both times were great. First time we ordered mango. tiramisu, and kinako kakigoris and the second time around, 2 kinako kakigoris. Have no complaints about anything, they were all absolutely delicious and the perfect light dessert after a meal. They will bring out your order to you wherever your seated and if you ever get the chance to talk to the woman at the register she's really sweet! Definitely recommend coming by and trying it out, they have other items too such as teas! read more

Cute little store! Pink latte tasted like rose latte and it isn't too sweet. Honeycomb latte was super good but I'd wait for the toppings to steep into the drink if it makes sense. I have seen this place pop up on Yelp many times when I look for dessert in the area and we decided to give it a try on a Saturday around 4:30pm. It was a small space and very busy during the time I went! There seems to be only one worker when I went. She was busy in the kitchen making the orders. I saw people come in every 5-10 mins or so. Some waited a bit for someone to come out and take their order but ended up leaving because she was too busy with the existing orders. There's a little bell you can ring at the front if there's no one there. We ordered the Mango Kakigori. It was good - mangos tasted fresh, but I think a bit overpriced for what you get. I'm not sure if I would go out of my way to come here, but on a hot day when I have some time to spare, I'm open to coming here again! read more

I went here this morning because it's the only boba shop open on Sundays before 11. I tried the lemon black tea and the honey comb latte with oatmilk. Wow. The flavor of the honeycomb latte is exactly what I expect for an oatmilk latte. The maltiness of the oatmilk is enhanced by the flavor of the "honeycomb". As for the lemon black tea, it is was delicious and refreshing. The perfect amount of sweet and sourness. This place does great drinks. I'll be back sometime to try their shaved ice. read more

When I saw the roasted matcha rice latte I immediately had to try it! I've never tried it before and so glad I felt open minded enough to give it a taste. I ordered mine less sweet with oat milk. It's perfect amount of matcha, not too bitter or sweet. I tried my boyfriend's honeycomb latte drink and it tasted a little bitter as if it was coffee but good. The honeycomb bits are on the bottom of the drink. The inside of this place is quite small and minimal decorated. Luckily, when we came in it wasn't busy because only one barista was working. The shaved ice is huge and good to share with a few people. But I think I could've ate it on my own. The barista is super friendly and had so much patience for the 5 of us. She keeps the place clean as well. Definitely happy I stopped by. read more
