    Teriyaki Chicken-Don

We ordered Oishii through DoorDash. I do remember their restaurant in Fresno, which was very good & this location did not disappoint. Food was packaged so well and fresh. Poke nachos, hands down one of the best I've had in the Valley and such a huge size for a treat price! We also tried the Chicken Teriyaki Don, Prawn tempura and the Oishii roll. Everything was delicious, we will definitely be ordering again & will be visiting the location very soon. Adding to our top places to eat when in Madera

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Cute, fast and delicious![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Grab a menu, grab a seat then head up to the front to place your order. Id even say that this place is better than some highly favored Japanese restaurants in Fresno. As for what I ordered: - Okinawa iced coffee : 8.5/10 such a large drink and it's strong! - Shrimp tempura roll: 10/10 literally is always delicious - edamame 10/10 perfectly salted - donburi chicken katsu 8/10 (wish it came with a spicy sauce) - vegetable fried rice 10/10 - miso soup 6/10 *Keep in mind all portions are quite large so you'll have plenty to share!*

Place has been in town for so long that I never stopped by. So find decide to give it a try. The place took away the corner of the plaza. I remember used to be an old Italian place back in the day. I wish I could remember the name of the sushi rolls I got. All three sushi rolls were delicious. The fried rice were good. The seaweed salad was a little different, but it was OK. Nice to taste the freshness, in the food that we got. Customer service was great. The workers were polite and kind and answered any questions that we had as it was our first time there definitely will be stopping by again

If I only had $10 to my name I would spend the last $8 on a pretty in peach tea. I love it so much, so refreshing n sweet and the boba is so yummy ugh. I can't, there was a time where I would come every day specifically for that. Anyways oishii is the reason why I love sushi now. we ordered the dragon roll this time but I typically get the love love roll. I also really love their veggie egg rolls, idk how to explain it but you can tell they change their oil regularly and it tastes fresh. Love u oishiiiiiii

They never disappoint! They are so customer service and quality focused, they are consistent and amazing! Portions are great and the ambiance is always inviting. Their food is excellent. Having a bad day, I go in and it lifts me, having a great day- same! Thank you for being a part of our restaurant scene in Madera!

I'm a pretty harsh critic when it comes to sushi, my favorite food. My favorite spot for sushi is usually Sakura chaya and I have a hard time trying new places but i'm glad I gave this spot a chance. I got the super mario roll along with edamame. The roll was super tasty 5/5 and will def crave this roll. The edamame was cooked well, not under or over, just right. I also like that they offer the reg red cap soy sauce AND the green cap, low sodium soy sauce. The female cook in the kitchen was busting ass and all the food coming out all looked yummy! The only odd part of this place was the front staff. The 2 at the registers were a lil odd and just didn't seem to be present. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As for the place itself, the decor is cute but it was really warm walking in. They have fans blowing but it isn't cool AC air.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Anyway, like I said, i'm a tough critic but even so, I would def come back! The food is of course the number 1 reason but the hard working female cook was also impressive! Food 5/5. Service 4/5.

    Piece of Mean Jada

Small sushi joint that is likely best for carry out but we sat in one of their few tables during a recent trip. Enjoyed a few different sushi roles including a Fuego Roll which I got for the hot Cheetos as that seemed unique and was. Also it was a great role with tuna, crunch and best. Red Dragon roll was also good with crunch of shrimp tempura, tuna, cream cheese and spicy tuna. Mean Jada roll was good but pieces are larger and a bit harder to eat. That had spicy tuna and yellowtail with a touch of heat. Finally the Cherry Blossom, looked like a flower how it was presented and had spicy tuna and salmon. Highly recommend all the rolls and they were all very large portion sizes and fresh. We will be back when traveling to Medera.

    Sunshine Roll

I specifically asked for a baked salmon roll, the sunshine roll was recommended. It came out raw. So I asked kindly, if they could bake the salmon a little longer. And this is what I got next. Would you eat this? I absolutely lost my appetite. :( We were given a refund, which I do appreciate! One star for customer service. But then, we were told this is how it is supposed to look! Ummm no. We won't be back!

Excellent food and service too! Nice to see this place doing good business. We ordered the Super Mario roll along with the California roll, combo fried rice and teriyaki chicken. All were great, nice fresh taste and good presentation too!

Maria took my order today she was very knowledgeable of the menu I told her what I was looking for in a sushi roll and she suggested the "Snow" roll 10/10 just what I was looking for Thank you again!

Fried rice with bacon. It tastes just like teppanyaki fried rice.

Very good. And yes, highly recommend the fried rice! The boba drink is yummy and it's with clear boba jelly. I really like the tea drink. I ordered a jasmine green tea with lavender.

Service/ ambiance: Came here on a Thursday around 8 to be greeted by a 45min. Wait--we stuck around. The place was super packed, and because the windows had the blinds down with art work; it felt a bit claustrophobic and overwhelming. We got an alert that our table was ready and checked-in. The hostess then left us, and waved us down to signal where we were sitting (they could've told us to follow them lol) The waitress was nice, but seemed a bit scattered. Automatically asked what we wanted, but we had never been here before, so wasn't sure how it all worked (they never explained). The walls of our booth were littered with scrape marks and chipped paint. The booth had no cushion whatsoever, making it extremely difficult to get comfortable (ok...there's a cushion, but it's flat). The table was the most annoying part. No matter if you scoot it more towards you or the other side there still so much space. I'm basically sitting at the edge of my seat trying to eat because of the distance--if you're a bit heftier on the stomach--it's perfect. (Random observation: the bathroom looks nice, but not well kept. There's graffiti and cravings all over, which makes me think I'm in the bathroom of a dive bar) Food: As I mentioned I was craving sushi--their selection was lack luster. Almost everything had the same ingredients. The salmon sashimi looked pale and had no color. There were some pieces that were sliced so thin you could basically see through it. I ordered two rolls for my daughter (crazy roll & snow mountain)--both were lacking flavor. The presentation for them was as if they didn't care or even try? Every time I picked one up it would fall apart. The Hibachi steak was cold and dry. Shot ribs were just lathered in sauce (not my preference), and mostly came with little meat and all bone. I'd only come back if the majority of people I'm with want to go, but I wouldn't suggest it myself. The service felt rushed. Food could have been presented/ prepared better. Space could've opened easily by letting us see out the windows and not feel so packed like a can of sardines, and could definitely use some touch up paint and better cushions. It could've been an off night, but this is what I experienced.

So when my son asked us to meet him, his lovely wife and our 3 granddaughters for dinner on a recent visit I didn't have my hopes up. Namikaze is a nice quiet restaurant that from its decor could easily be an Italian, French or American restaurant. Just change the paintings on the wall. The Menu is pretty expansive. A full menu of Sushi, noodles, gyoza and rolls made it difficult to choose but eventually we narrowed it down. I always try the Unagi (eel) at any sushi restaurant. It is my barometer for how good everything else will probably be. It was good. I also ordered the Kimono Roll while my wife had Shogun roll. We also tried the Chicken Gyoza. Everything was terrific. Excellent taste and fresh. Next time someone asks me about Fresno I'll say "Fresno! They have good sushi there". Definitely Recommended.

I was immediate greeted by the two Sushi chefs behind the counter as I walked in. Not long after, the host greeted me and handed me a menu for me to select my order to go. I considered a poke bowl, however, their sauces were pretty standard. So instead I opted for their seaweed salad that came with a number of protein including tuna, edamame, shrimp, avocado, and masago. It was $19, so it wasn't necessarily inexpensive, however I figured a poke bowl with a couple proteins would run me right about there as well. The sushi chef got right away to work preparing my meal and I was in and out within 5 minutes. When I got home, I opened up my box and was a little underwhelmed with the presentation. The protein is cut up into small pieces and mixed in with the seaweed salad. In addition it is not pure seaweed as it is also mixed in with a bunch of other greens such as sprouts. So while the presentation was not what I was expecting, I was pleasantly surprised that I really enjoyed the flavors and textures. I will definitely order this again.

One word of advice: if you're planning to join the waitlist, I recommend calling ahead for a more accurate wait time. The website initially showed no one ahead of us, but after joining the waitlist it indicated several parties were waiting. When we arrived, we were told the wait would be about 45 minutes, which wasn't ideal with a couple of hungry kids. Thankfully, we were seated within about 10 minutes. Our server, Patrick, was fantastic! He provided excellent customer service, took the time to explain the sushi rolls, helped us navigate the kids' menu, and was attentive throughout our meal. Patrick, thank you for helping make my mom's birthday dinner so memorable. Khasey was our chef, and the food was absolutely delicious. He made sure we had every sauce we asked for. The teppanyaki experience for the children was engaging and fun. To top it off, the staff brought out a cute birthday dessert and sang a birthday tune for my mom, which made the celebration even more special. The location is another huge plus. It's situated in a great area near Fresno State with plenty to do before or after dinner, including ice cream shops, boba spots, VR gaming, and movie theaters. Overall, we had a great experience and can't wait to come back!
