This place was okay. The problem is, we have a favorite sushi restaurant (in Las Colinas). Midori is really far, so we were trying to find something closer... but Kanzi isn't going to unseat our #1 (it's also a little more expensive). The main thing is that their sushi rolls are heavy on sauce. Very few of the specialty rolls are free of spicy mayo, eel sauce, or cream cheese. I think the basic rolls are their best offering, but each individual piece is cut fairly tall. The high proportion of nori to other ingredients covered up the flavor of the fish. We ordered tuna, salmon, and yellowtail rolls, and I really couldn't tell you which was my favorite. This place is BYOB, and accepts all major credit cards. read more

The sushi rolls are crazy huge. Be warned if you are expecting the normal serving sizes from other restaurants. A special roll can comfortably feed one person and easily shared between two people. I made a yelper fail by not checking this place out beforehand and arrived to find out it is BYOB. Luckily, there is a liquor store right behind them in the shopping center that takes all of 2 minutes to walk to. They did offer us some of the generic sake they had for FREE in carafes! So they aren't completely without alcohol, and they brought it to us hot and cold. Despite that small mishap, the food was exceptional, well presented plates, and there is a nice view overlooking the pond. The nigiri was a thick cut with outstanding flavor, and the veggie roll in ponzu sauce was a pleasant surprise! The spicy mixed sashimi bowl I got was pretty good, VERY SPICY, but I felt was too heavy on the sauce. Next time I would order it plain, with the sauce on the side. I'm a fairly easy person to please. My Father and his friend however, are very particular when it comes to sushi quality and service. They ended up being impressed by the sushi, but kept remarking about the lack of atmosphere and service was a little off. The sushi chefs were kind enough to send over a few pieces of smoked salmon nigiri that was savory and a much appreciated gesture! Hooray~ it is opened! from the same owner / people that brought Umi Umi to the shops in Castle Hills they've now moved into a larger unit and added 2 hibachi teppanyaki tables it's so great to have such nice owners and good / fresh Sushi now hibachi right inside the neighborhood!!! this place used to be a TX/MEX restaurant that we haven't had the chance to try and they're gone location/view is better in my opinion it oversees the Lake area and it also have a patio for more sitting for spring/fall!!! Korean owned, same crew so service is still very friendly and fast. there's a -.5 star for them being new b/c they forgot one of our order but made it up really quickly when we asked and another -.5 star for AC being kinda weak, we were pretty hot....not sure if it's the heat from the hibachi area carrying over to the rest of the restaurant or the AC was having issues but seriously it felt like it was higher than 78F.... onto the goods~ we stopped by on a Monday the place was half full inside....also the hibachi area was almost full...then later quickly filled up. the Wifey / BabySophie and I got surf clam sushi, salmon sushi, s-white tuna sushi, and salmon roe sushi and finished up with a chirashi bowl. everything was nicely cut and very very fresh and tasty!!! and we received a eggroll plate and a summer roll from the sushi chef which was extremely nice of them!!! all and all a very nicely decorated new / larger location for them with a better view~ we will definitely visit again! to try their hibachi. This place is everything I've ever wanted in a sushi restaurant. They have the looks, they have the service, and most importantly of all - the flavor!!! My favorite thing that we ordered was the salmon tar tar. It was so clean and tender, never had anything like it before. Secondly their fried rice is some of the best I've had. It comes out in a hot bowl and you can hear the rice sizzling as it is delivered to your table. And finally their sushi was definitely top 3 in my book. I had high expectations based on all the great reviews and Kanzi far exceeded my expectations. We came with a small group and easily ordered 6 or 7 rolls and 3 different types of sushi. The sushi is high quality and they offer a solid selection of creative rolls at beyond reasonable prices. Be sure to try the super white tuna and French kiss roll. My mom and I are regulars at this place and it is hands down my favorite sushi spot in Dallas. The rolls are always fresh and delicious, but the true pull of this place is the staff. Every staff member down to the sushi chefs are so kind and attentive and they really treat their regulars like royalty. Considering all the good reviews I was really surprised. Ordered through door dash, 8 piece sushi combo and 1 miso soup for about 20 dollars. The 8 piece came with salmon, tuna, shrimp and yellowtail at 2 pieces each. it wasn't enough to fill a container so the rest of the susho combo was filled with thin radish strips. The Salmon, Tuna and Shrimp were good. The yellowtail tasted as if it had been sitting out awhile. One strip was inedible. There was also very little sushi rice for all of them. The miso soup was cold. Not luke warm, absolutely cold. And it was a tiny portion for almost 3 dollars. I understand it could have taken a while to get to me so I can't expect it to be piping hot, however this is the first time I have ever gotten cold soup through a delivery service. we went here for my dad's birthday. we ordered some sashimi, chirashi bowl, and 4 different types of their special rolls. the rolls were big and the sashimi was good! the only thing I didn't like that we got was the superman burrito. the crabmeat overwhelmed the taste of the other fish inside (salmon and tuna). sadly, that was the last one we ate. I wish I had the good ones later because I like to save the best for last when I can :) the lady at the table next to us dropped the wine glass and it splashed and broke on the floor of our table so the server came right away and swept the floor and gave a wet towel for us to clean. also, they gave us some torched beef sushi on the house. funnily enough, it was actually the best out of what I had. not sure if they have it on their menu though. read more

Ok this is a good spot for some quick hibachi and sushi. I would say it's very casual, the staff was super friendly and nice. The menu had a lot of different sushi options. I had the tempura roll ( delish) and my fiancé had the big mama roll. ( he bit off more than he could chew literally) it was huge maybe 10 giant roll pieces. It could have fed a family of 5 lol. It was really good. But he could only manage 1 piece. We also had the steak hibachi and the chicken and shrimp hibachi and it was bursting with flavor. The portions were also huge. We went in for lunch on a weekday...very quiet with only 2 other couples. The employees are so friendly and seem to take pride in their work. The food was awesome and we even got surprise "on the house" bites.
