We were craving some sushi tonight and decided to try someplace we haven't been to yet. Hopped on Yelp and found this place nearby, and soooo happy that we did!!! Ambiance: Cute, unassuming restaurant that was clean. Located in an unassuming strip mall in the castle hills neighborhood. Plenty of parking up front and they even have TVs inside. Service: This place was amazing. They passed my water test with flying colors. Never got below half empty! On top of it all, they ran out of a second order of uni so they provided us with several other interesting sushi plates free of charge (tempura roll, cucumber wrapped roll, and sweet shrimp). Never seen a restaurant do something like that, and really shows that they care about their customers! Food: The quality, presentation, and portions were excellent! + Uni sushi: Very tasty! Fresh and creamy. + Salmon tower: Never had this before, but it was impressive and tasty! Giant tower of rice, crab, salmon and avocado. The waitress actually mixed it all for us which was super helpful since I wouldn't have known how to eat it :) + French kiss roll: Excellent. Never had this before but it's crab wrapped in salmon with spicy sauce on top. Put some of that onion and daikon on there and it's perfect. Totally carb free and super tasty! Presentation was also very well done. + Chirashi bowl: Good with lots of variety of fish. + Sweet shrimp: Tasty! Very nice large shrimp with caviar on top, and the heads fried on the side with crab. Even better since it was free!! + Cucumber wrapped roll: Nice tangy flavor that went well with the creamy crab filling and carb free as well! Never would have known to get it if they hadn't provided it to us for free. + Tempura roll: Fresh and hot! Just the right balance between crispy and tasting the filling. Had high hopes.. the menu has appealing sounding sushi rolls. Ordered special crunch, rainbow roll, and shashimi combo. When the special crunch arrived we thought it was a wrong dish or a joke. The entire plate was heaped with crisp potato strings. we had to literally dig under this mountain to find sushi pieces. The rainbow roll was messy and had crab salad leaking out. Sashimi plate was served on a large plate but it was only 11 pieces for $22. Could have gone to Hmart and purchased better quality and more sashimi. Service needs improvement. Not even half a minute after being seated, waitress asks if we are ready to order in a rushing manner. When we placed our order of three items she asked "that's it? Just 3?" In a condescending tone. There's a big difference between just confirming this and criticizing this. I love this place, I really do. Its BYOB - so they will accommodate you with wine openers or wine glasses if you need. The sushi is very good and always fresh. I really enjoy myself when i go. On my 4th visit here I continue to be amazed! This visit was for lunch. Had the 9 piece sashimi Lunch special, asked for all salmon. The pieces were large, what a value for $11.95! Next was the spicy rainbow roll. Delicious! The pieces are always extra large, it is really a roll and a half. My wife had her typical sushi orders and I had their Chirashi bowl (assorted sashimi lead over rice.) For the first time, I did not like the tuna they served in it. It was chewy and not very tasty. Excellent sushi with a beautiful view! Very please with this dining experience for several reasons-- 1. They don't play around with their fish to rice ratio for their nigiri or rolls-- very generous portions with bursting flavor in every bite! 2. Amazing service- servers were very welcoming, attentive, and polite (despite our frequent requests for more ginger). Went on a first date here. Great place, not a great date. I let him choose the rolls, big mistake. He didn't like raw fish so he ended up choosing loads of shrimp tempura and crab meat rolls. Which, don't get me wrong, one is good for the mix. But four???!!! My goodness. The rolls were all good. Both of our favorites was the geisha followed by volcano. The green hulk was our least favorite. I forgot the name of the fourth roll. The food was delicious. I'm definitely going to come back to try some actual sushi, ya know, with delicious raw fish. While the wait staff is friendly, the Sushi rolls are so big you literally can't even pick them up with chopsticks. I'm used to being able to fit one entire roll in my mouth. These rolls take 2-3 bites and you'll need a fork. Also....this place was a dirty nasty mess. Talking sweeping food off the table on to the floor and leaving it there, using towels on tables with no disinfectant/cleaning solution , soy sauce splashed up on the walls and not wiped off, food in the chair when you sit down, they even gave us a nearly empty bottle of soy sauce to pour into our dishes. Instead of buying new tables they stuff tissue wads underneath the legs so they don't tilt. The chairs are extremely old and torn and the back corner of the restaurant is piled with mess and is visible to the customer. Soup, salad and two basic rolls for $10. I don't typically like miso soup and ate the whole thing. The dressing on the salad was delicious and definitely much better than others I've had. This was the first time that I went to Castle Hills (having just been annexed by the City of Lewisville) and to the Japanese restaurant Kanzi. I went with my twenty-three year old daughter as she loves Japanese food as much as me. We arrived prior to the Friday night crowds showed up. My daughter and I both ordered the filet mignon hibachi dinner. I ordered a green tea and my daughter ordered her usual, a Dr Pepper. The starters of soup and a salad came out immediately. Those were good but nothing exceptional. Then the main course came out. The meat was good, the veggies were good and the fried rice was EXCEPTIONAL!!! The fried rice was very tasty and I suspect that they cooked it with some sort of alcohol, probably sake which made it unique. They gave us a "dessert" of cucumber and crab, it was interesting. The service was good but not spectacular. I will return here again to try some of the other dishes and try the sushi starting with tamago sushi. read more

Great, low-key sushi and hibachi restaurant in an upscale, quiet neighborhood. The service was quick and friendly, the restaurant appeared clean, and they even have a patio overlooking the community lake. We had the Sponge Bob roll, which was delicious and quite filling.
