From our resort villa, we online ordered a large Crispy Pata, $46, and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes! Our Crispy Pata and a box of rice and dipping sauces were ready and waiting for us! It was delicious; fatty, crunchy, and full of flavor! This Crispy Pata lasted us quite a few meals, which we added to saimin, or rice. If you want great local Filipino/Asian fare, come to Joey's Kitchen in Napili. I am sorry that we missed the opening of their new restaurant, Dang Dang Noodles, by a few days. Next visit!

While I adore and often cook a lot of Asian food I'm not such a fan of Filipino food yet around it more than any other food with family. Bad choice. After driving there from Lahaina for lunch, this dish was unavailable?? Even yelpers rave about it! So we ordered the pork belly and wanted chow fun but they only have the chicken variety? So there is a reason why the Asian restaurants we usually dine at make beef chow fun. The chicken version was bland and wanting for something else to complete it! But surely edible and nicely cooked noodles. The pork belly was ok but not slap your momma I'll go back for that good. The Mac salad was awful compared to much more affordable plate lunch places. It was flavorless, overcooked pasta, and a gritty texture! Weirdly the chairs there at the tables are low and you feel like you are at the children's table at Thanksgiving. So much so that us and two other groups including the ones that moved after ordering to our vacated table moved from the regular tables to the ones at the window with a bench on one side. We had fun joking with our replacements about that! So for the most part here it appears to be tourist clientele and not many Filipinos but my wife. I think that these exceptionally high prices for basic dishes and burgers (she asked why would people go to a Filipino restaurant and order a burger) are why not many locals eat here. And frankly most aunties make better Filipino food better at home. Glad we tried but not again. Checked off of our try try list. They didn't even have a signature dish available that we went particularly to get.

It was a short 5 min hop over from the airport to Da Tambayan Corner and parking in the adjacent lot was easy. All the food trucks are ringed around the central tables and look for the aquamarine Da Soriano truck over by the road. Their food style is Filipino with a Hawaiian twist if you hadn't discerned it from their name. They have a build-your-own-combo grindz menu that you can pick a couple of proteins with rice options or check out the picture menu if you really don't know what to get. My wife went for the combo of Pork Adobo & Garlic Butter Shrimp with Mac & Green Salad, both very flavorful choices. Her friend went double pork action with Chinese Roast Pork Belly & Calamansi Grilled Pork Belly and Pancit Bihon Noodles as her side. The Chinese roast pork belly was as crispy good as any I've seen in any Chinatown. My Seafood Trio had a Miso Glazed Salmon Fillet, 3 Baked Mussels, 2 Shrimp Tempura and topped with Kaboyaki sauce & Thai Chili Aioli. The Shrimp were not the typical panko coated but battered and tasted good drizzled with the 2 sauces. The mussels are topped with a heavy cheesy mayo sauce and baked. Of course, it wouldn't be a Hawaiian plate lunch without a scoop of white rice and a scoop of mac salad. All this wasn't enough and our friend went back to chat with the chef and came back with a double serving of banana lumpia in crunchy spring roll wrap and drenched in heavy syrup. This was an excellent dessert and wrap up to a great lunch. We were so stuffed, we had to skip dinner!

Although they had hours that where I listed, we missed them the first time because they put up a sign that said back @ 5. The second time we caught them, it was right before they put up the back at 5 sign, and I think that's why the sisig was super tough and chewy - we got the bottom of the pot sisig haha. Anyhow, happy to report the chicken was very tasty. The fry was light, the seasoning on point and the portion was sizable. Both were plated on top of a banana leaf, which I thought was great presentation. Overall I would say it was okay, probably not something we'd hit up again, but glad we tried it!

Every item here at a Merienda Maui food truck was delicious. The only mistake we made was not…read moreeating here sooner, since we would have returned to try more of the menu. We selected two types of tacos, the Shrimp and the Thai Beef Tacos. The shrimp tacos are served with a cabbage slaw, a ginger sesame dressing (not a strong flavor), gochujang aioli (dominant flavor that worked well with the shrimp), and some pickled red onions on top. Somewhat simple but all flavors combine well, the shrimp stands out with the aioli, and it has a tropical sense to it. The Thai Beef Tacos use a Thai marinade on the beef (sourced from Maui, though I couldn't tell the difference from regular beef in these chunks in a taco). Beyond that it's a common taco with a tomato salad (pico de gallo), jalapeño, cilantro, and mint (rather than a common diced onion pairing). The marinade infused into each piece of beef and truly carried the dish. I would have eaten it without the garnishes, though they do help fill out the taco. I also thought this was the most basic item we ordered, and would want to try out other items before repeating this. Lastly the Phili-bistek Sando with fries was the true star of the show. It reads as a cheesesteak with bell peppers and onions, and Mayo/chimichurri sauce on top. Yet I think this meat was also marinated, since I can't conceive how much umami was oozing from this burger. It is hands down the best cheesesteak I have every had...and I've been to Philadelphia. I found other recipes online that use a soy marinade to prepare the beef (tapa beef seems to be the Filipino name), and this sounds like it tasted. There was a lot of beef pieces, we shared the burger along 3 people, and I think that the circular shape made it seem larger than if it had been on a longer hoagie bread. Onion jam rather then regular onions would keep the tastebuds working, the Japanese Mayo would introduce both tangy and sweet flavors, and the chimichurri would add parsley, cilantro, and garlic notes. The burger was messy, but worth it. And the fries were extra crispy, similar to In-N-Out double fried fries but thicker. These work perfectly with just ketchup. We considered the Umami fries, which have gochijang and Mayo and Furikake at the same time, and I think all that sauce would reduce the crispiness of the fries. I would still try it, but the fries are top notch and a quick dip in ketchup is all that is needed. The Okonomiyaki Brussel sprouts also sound like an amazing Asian take on the vegetable and something to try next time.

The parking lot was almost full but we managed to find a spot by the front door. Upon entering the store, the grocery section is to the left with a good selection of Filipino food & a produce section. To the right is the take out line & a few tables if you want to dine in. The line was pretty long but it moved fast. There are several friendly ladies behind the counter that quickly served up your plate. Most of the entrees had signs on them. They have such a nice spread to choose from. Prices are reasonable & they don't skimp on the quantity. I had a 2-entree plate for $15.99. 1 entree is $10.99, 3-entree is $19.99. All plates come with rice or pancit, or you can do half & half. I got the half & half with pork adobo & teriyaki chicken. The plate was yummy The pancit had 2 different noodles, the clear & the regular pancit noodles. There was an ample amount of veggies and shiitake mushrooms. The pork adobo had good flavor & well seasoned. Not too many fatty pieces & very tender. It didn't have as much as a vinergry taste but still was good. The teriyaki chicken was well flavored with a little sweetness, not overly dry, tasty as well. There was so much food, it's definitely a shareable plate or leftovers for a couple of days. They also have several soups & the entrees can be purchased a la carte. Overall, this place is worth going to. Don't let the long line fool you. This is a place to get some delicious Filipino food at reasonable prices, plates full of food, friendly & quick service. Support local @

Wow. My husband missed out as he waited in the car, he could have grab all his favorites Filipino goods! I looked around and browsed the grocery products before I get to the hot food/take out selection as I know I will be buying me some foods. What I like about Paradise Supermart is the items are organized, there are tons of products. What I don't like is most items has no prices or sign, even the produce. It will have to be a surprise or ask at the register. The prices are on high side but hey we need Filipino goods no matter the cost. The huge bag of wing bean caught my eyes, never seen them grown so huge before, no prices, when I ask the staff, it was $6.99! Pricey, on Oahu they cost $2-$3 per bag. The hot food selection, wow! This is my favorites! So many selections to choose from and even desserts galore! I got the 1 entree plate to try $9.99, for 2 items = $14.99, the difference in entree choices is $5. kinda steep. I wanted to try the chicken adobo and noodles. If the food is good, I would be back for my Filipino fix on Maui. Also got banana lumpia and a huge piece of the fried pork belly. We ate the food that night when we got back to Oahu and the verdict, chicken thighs were used which chicken wasn't tender, more hard to chew. I never tried adobo in thighs before & missing the adobo sauce, I like to add that to my rice. The noodles were good, I like that it comes with mix of canton and bihon noodles, just how my in-laws would make it. The fried roast pork, I loved! I will be back for more of this fried crispy goodness, I chopped the pork in to pieces and saved in freezer to use in my Sari Sari soup or add to ramen noodles. All in all, despite the chicken adobo, Paradise Supermart is a great place for all your Filipino goods, sweets, grocery stop, here on Maui!! & Oh., BTW if you wanted to enjoy the Filipino foods right away, there are few tables too .

It's a grocery store that also sells hot foods. We got there at 10:30 am and they have lunch items available. 2-item combo is $16.99 which comes with rice and/or Pansit. I was hesitant to order because I can tell that majority of their foods are leftovers from yesterday or days ago. Take for example the longanisa I ordered and took a picture of - I was given 3 pieces but one of them is hard as a rock. The Lechon kawali is also hard as if they were refried. I shouldn't have ordered it but lechon is one of my favorites. The Pansit is too peppery. Some are too dry and some trays are only 1/4 full My husband got freshly made adobo and igado and both were good. Those trays are filled to the brim. Then I ordered Turon and Carioca- and those were awesome and addicting. The people at the store are very nice. I would probably go back if I have to go grocery shopping but if I have to eat, I think I would pass.

I have come here quite a few times and I always have a hard time choosing. The prices are incredibly reasonable so often times, I'll get two or three entrees. Pricing is as follows: 1 choice $9, 2 choices $10, 3 choices $11. Really good deal for the amount of food if you ask me! They offer mostly Filipino and sometimes local style cuisine. My all-time favorite is their sweet and sour spare ribs. Sweet, tangy, and just absolutely delicious. I crave it all the time! Other favorites would have to be their chop steak, pork and peas, and chicken papaya. My team and I have also worked with them to cater large corporate events (we're talking 1000+ people) and they have delivered each and every time. They helped make our lunch and dinner service so smooth and we have received numerous positive feedback from everyone that tried their food. Not to mention, their prices and portion sizes are incredibly reasonable. I don't think many other places can compare. If you're considering them for catering, you can now stop by and try out their food at this location. Their menu rotates throughout the week, but you can follow them on social media for the latest info on their menu and their opening hours. Lastly, I believe the parking next to the building will be going away soon, but the Wailuku parking garage is now open and is right behind this building, making it easily accessible. The first two hours are free. All in all, highly recommend T-Ann-J!
