Despite my three star review, I go to Kaos Records a lot... Simply because it's nearby (the only small record shop within a four mile radius - how sad) and they carry mostly music that interests me.. A bunch of punk, rockabilly, psychobilly, and britpop music. They carry not just CDs, but DVDs, t-shirts, posters, and accessories. There is also a vinyl section, but it's very, very limited. They are always willing do to special orders and buy used CDs. The girl I always see there is pretty friendly, but sometimes she's a little feisty (she said her day wasn't going well). Cons: small selection on certain artists (How can you only have carry one or two David Bowie CDs?!) and somewhat pricey. **FYI: To prevent theft, all CDs on the racks are photocopies, but when you make a purchase they will give you the real CD!** Embarrassingly I didn't know that when I first went there years ago, so I ended up buying nothing that time... read more

To say this is my favorite record store is an understatement. Because the employees here literally go above and beyond!!!! Just now (08/15/20 at 6:05pm) I called because I didn't remember the measurements for my 2 posters I bought from there, and I thought maybe they'd know. They didn't. Instead they went out of their way to GO AND MEASURE THEM THEMSELVES AND let me know! I have never felt that cared for by an employee and honestly am so thankful to the girl who helped me. I only wish I could've gotten her name to mention her here. Kaos has a GREAT SELECTION in decals, vinyls, posters,Shirts and memorabilia. It's not so overpriced either like most record stores. Honestly cannot recommend this store enough! We constantly get complimented on our face masks we got from here. And the decals we found here. If you were considering on going here. I really wanted the Violator hoodie to go with me, but... they didn't have my size. BUT, They ordered it for me and it was ready for pickup just minutes before I arrived to check on that! I've been coming here since I was in high school back in the early 2000s. It's about time I left a review lol. This is the only record store in the area that caters to punk, goth, Britpop, riotgrrl, indie, and The Holy Trinity: The Smiths, The Cure, and Depeche Mode. They have band shirts, CDs, records, posters, buttons, and lots of cool stuff. They have the best, most unique band posters of any place I've been. The new location is bigger, so there's more room to look around. What has impressed me the most over the last 20 years is the owner and his staff are always friendly. You know how at some record stores the employees act like they're too cool to even talk to you? It's not that way here. This is the friendliest record store I've ever been to. I like Rhino Records as well, but I think they're the nicest at Kaos. This has always been a fun place to hang out and I will continue to support them. Go! read more

Kaos Records has been one of the best punk rock record stores around since as far back as I can remember. I've been shopping at Kaos since back in the day when it was still known as "Hot Rocks," and have also continued being a loyal customer throughout their various moves. I have great memories of buying my first punk rock records and t-shirts here when I was younger. I recently visited their new location in Glendora, and was very glad to see that good ole Kaos Records has not changed much. The same owner still works the store, and is super nice and helpful as usual. They still have a great selection of punk rock records, t-shirts, videos, books, posters,etc. Although I am bummed that they are now in Glendora and out of the area for me, I'm really glad that that store is still alive and going and that people like the shop owner are still making it happen. There aren't too many record shops left around anymore, so I wish Kaos all the best in the world at this new location and will definitely be back when I have a chance. read more

This is a really interesting store that I had never realized was so close. I went there with a family to check out some shirts as a gift. I'm not really into most of the music that is here but definitely a good vibe when your in there. I didn't even realize until my friend said that the "records" in the back are actually T-shirts! Very unique idea to store and sell clothing!! Thumbs up to that. This store is very unique in general. I found this place by accident as I was just a few doors down and getting my haircut. While I thought the highlight of my day would be the amazing haircut that I got, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was this record store really in the middle of nowhere that was not only the highlight of my day but undoubtably the highlight of my week. I was greeted by the friendliest, most helpful staff person ever: Ray. I really liked that he gave me the space to take my time and he was in no way pushy or impatient with me. I need to be clear that the store is really small but they make use of their small space by packing it in to it's very maximum potential. As soon as you walk in there are CDs to your left i'll be random variety. Most of them I found where in the three dollar range with a couple going as much as six or seven dollars. Once you get past that little section you will see everything from DVDs which are priced equally low to vinyl records of which they have a very very good variety in terms of rockabilly, 80s music, anything British and basically anything punk or Gothic. Once you get past the section on vinyl records you will find what looked to be vinyl record but are instead cleverly packaged T-shirts meant to resemble vinyl records. The selection here is hands-down the best I have ever seen any record store. I'm glad that I only came in with cash because I had brought my debit card I would be feeling the pinch in my wallet tomorrow. On top of all that they have pens and keychains and even onesies for babies with things on them like The Strokes, The Clash or Morrissey. You would be hard-pressed not to fall in love with at least one or two things in the store. I spent under $40 and came out with a bag full of stuff. I can only imagine the things I could get for just a few dollars more. I'm really looking forward to the next time that I come here. If you're ever in the area or even if you have to drive a little I would definitely recommend this spot. It's a cant miss. read more

Great selection of cool punk (and rock) t's, new punk vynl and new punk (and Bob Marley) c.d.'s. They have a decent amount of used c.d.'s as well. Not a ton of used vynl (but who does these days). They do however have more patches, stickers and buttons than a Melrose Ave. warehouse. The staff is also the coolest! I've been frequenting this spot for the last 2 1/2 years. Even if you don't live around Covina, it's worth the drive! Check this place out! read more

This shop gets major props just for being in Covina and for being what it is. They've got a decent (no, great, for being in Covina) selection of punk, alternative rock, and old English stuff from the '60s and '70s, as well as the obligatory t-shirts and memorabilia. Its been quite some time since I last been to the store. I believe since they moved from downtown Covina. So glad I finally came in to buy a few Morrissey t-shirts. Also had to get some tickets for the Smiths/Morrissey Convention. The owner Ray is pretty cool always helpful. The location is pretty small compared to the previous one. Neat little record store with a complete hard-on for Morissey. Not that I'm complaining about that . For the area this place seems pretty great. I can't think of a better place to go nearby for punk records. Their selection is basically just most well known punk bands. Huge selection of Smiths Cd's. A fairly well selection of rockabilly and all the Misfits merchandise a 12 year old punk kid could dream up. This place is small but their selection is pretty comprehensive in terms of punk records. Any well known punk band(as well as some New Wave, Alternative, and Anarcho) you could probably find their works here. Not a huge selection of vinyl though. Lot's of singles and even a small collection of collectors items. They sell tons of pins and t shirts. The girl working the counter was really friendly and we talked a while about music venues in the area. I was visiting so she gave me a heads up on where some cool shops in the area are. It's always nice to have someone to talk to while shopping. Overall this is a friendly little shop with a rad selection of punk records. read more
