This is my favorite sushi in Seattle! Highly recommend, It never disappoints. Service and ambiance are also always pleasant.

This was had so-so ramen. It was salty and the broth was heavy/think. It was $18 for a bowl. Not sure if i will be back.

I really liked this place! We ordered a bunch of shareable appetizers and they were all really good! I liked the chicken karaage and the pickled vegetables we ordered (Kimchee Takuan). Also I really like the variety of dipping sauces they offer. I haven't been to a place that offers many different sauces. We got the curry ketchup, spicy mayo, and mango mayo. They went really well with the fries and the chicken karaage. Service was good. I didn't feel like we waited too long for our food. The interior of the restaurant is nice. They use a lot of wood and warm colors so it feels homey and like you're in a Japanese restaurant. We sat in a booth in the back which fit our group comfortably (and had space to put our bags down). read more

There were 4 of us, so we tried a wide array of food. My favorites are: *Kara-age (4.5/5, $26) - we got the original. It was juicy and flavorful. It's weird to me that it didn't come with any FREE sauce. Each 2oz. sauce is $0.85 sauce. I like the curry ketchup and hot habanero. *Curry Deluxe (4/5, $24.95) - A big long plate that holds fried chicken and hamburger patty with boiled egg and vegetables with Japanese curry sauce. This place is so cute! The staff were super nice as well. The karaage was so perfectly crispy and very well flavored. You can also make it flavored like lemon pepper. They also have a wide array of different dipping sauces. Of course we did the class spicy Mayo! The plate was a decent price for the amount that you get. I would definitely get it again! Looking for a place for dinner on our last evening in Seattle and we came across this place (while looking for parking) and the banner advertising Hawaiian Japanese food sounded appealing and my family would enjoy this place. It was relatively empty when we arrived, but filled up quickly. We were seated immediately & service was prompt. We ordered the spicy tuna roll, ginger pork, loco moco & char siu wonton udon. Other than the wonton both dishes included a side of potato mac salad, which gave it the Hawaiian twist and a hard boiled egg. The loco moco reminded me of Japanese Hamburger Steak. A little different from real island loco moco, but nonetheless it was quite tasty. The ginger pork was okay--good ginger flavor & the wonton was pretty tasty. It clean and bright and the decor is Hawaiianish with Japanese flair--very cute. Definitely worth checking out, if you're in the area. read more

And food came out really fast too. They definitely got the whole process down because there was only one woman working the front. We got the curry rice with chicken karage ($17.95) --this was really good. The portion was generous as it fed two of us. I like the gravy a lot, it wasn't too thick or too salty, just right. Not at all what I hoped for after seeing all the positive reviews. The batter was more like popcorn chicken rather than traditional karaage batter. In addition to the base cost, sauce can be added at an additional charge. Initially, we went without the sauce, but the chicken wasn't flavorful enough to enjoy on it's own, so we ended up getting one of their sauces to dip the chicken into for about a dollar more. I can see why others may enjoy this type of fried chicken, but since it was called karaage, I was expecting something different. It wasn't bad, but it was not amazing either. The place is very close to CityU so convenient to eat during lunch. They close during mid afternoon when it's slow. The karaage plate has a good portion of meat that it was shareable for 2. It came with miso soup but it tasted a bit bland so perhaps it was diluted too much. The karaage on the other hand was okay, the sauces are extra $ though (just fyi). Parking is not so great because it is just street parking so you'll have to be creative to look for them when it's busy. The California roll was good and I am surprised how well it held itself. I finally made it to Karaage Setsuna, and I'm kicking myself for not trying it sooner. This is seriously one of the most underrated spots in Seattle, especially if you're looking for Japanese Hawaiian food. My fiance and I went for the curry rice with chicken karaage, so we could try two things at once. It looked unassuming in pictures, but my expectations were quickly blown away. Not only is the chicken crazy juicy, it has incredible flavor from the marinade - specifically sake. The curry and red pickles were also outstanding. It tastes home cooking in the best way possible. We also got a side of macaroni salad, which in my opinion is a great litmus test for Hawaiian food. It was awesome! Ditto for the french fries, which are made using butter and soy sauce. It all gives me a lot of confidence in the rest of the menu, and I'm now trying to figure out when I can make it back here. read more

I have only ever come here for the karaage and that's enough for me. Understandably if you are reading this review you are asking yourself why should you eat here. Well let me explain about karaage or Japanese fried chicken. There are many different types of fried chicken that I have had. Southern breaded styled, Korean chicken wings, and even some Chinese styled chicken. Some American friend chicken include nuggets and chicken tenders. Why do I bring this up? When karaage is nothing like any of those~ It is soft juice tender pieces of chicken wrapped in a delicate fried shell that gives you the slightest of crunch and then a mouth full of flavor and chicken juices. This place delivers on that to the point. My friend and I on a hungry day can do a large (20) pieces each. IF I were to make one complaint would be some more different stronger sauces. That being said there is already plenty of sauces you can use here. On a side note, I have tried both the fries and the salad and the seasoning they use for the fries makes it a unique experience and the salad I would give a solid ok. read more

Our server brought us water and recommended that we order on one phone so all meals would come out together, then we could pay as we wish afterwards. We all ordered the karaage plate, each with different seasonings. Each plate came with miso soup, rice with furikake seasoning, and macaroni salad. The chicken was so crispy and flavorful and once I took a bite so juicy inside. The rice was good I liked the additional seasonings. The macaroni salad was made with large elbow macaroni, edamame, and corn. I was expecting the typical sweet Hawaiian flavors but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't too sweet. The restaurant is in downtown Seattle in a corner building. The restaurant is small but has about 10 tables. It seems to have a pretty regular take out business. A great spot for your Japanese Hawaiian cravings. Hawaiian inspired cuisine isn't common in FL so when I saw Karaage Setsuna, I had to stop in for a bite to eat. This small restaurant had indoor dining available and an easy ordering set up in the front in case you wanted to take your food to-go. I was seated quickly and was told to order directly through the QR code at my table. The system is super easy to navigate and has photos of all their dishes (which I love!) I ordered a white peach soda and the Kara-age Plate that came with fried chicken karaage served with furikake rice, mac salad and came with a miso soup. I also ordered a side of mango mayo, which cost an extra $0.75. The food came out in record time even if they had a bit of a lunch rush. The servers all made sure to check up on me & that I always had a full glass of water. The karaage dish was delicious and was portioned just right with no leftovers to take home, which I preferred since I wasn't going back to my hotel until late at night. I've never had a mango mayo before but it was a great dipping sauce for the karaage to add a little sweetness to the salt. I'm not a soda gal but the white peach soda might just be my go-to if I ever see it on a menu. It was light, refreshing and the right amount of carbonated. The sushi was forgettable, but the Karaage was a star! For sushi, I ordered an Unagi (eel) and Lucky Tuna roll. Unagi roll was middle-of-the-pack, pretty much on par with a half-decent grocery store. The only difference is they are more conservative with the (usually quite sweet) eel sauce. Lucky Tuna roll was also lackluster, but, I did like the use of pickled jalapenos. It added some pleasant heat without an onslaught of heat for those more sensitive to such things. Then came the divine karaage! They cooked the chicken to absolute perfection! When I tell you I don't remember the last time I had chicken this moist and tender, I don't exaggerate! The breading was crisp and light as can be. The Red Sauce was as paradisiac as the chicken! It had remarkable savoriness, and a perfect level of heat. Dare I say, for my memory isn't what it used to be it also had a perfect touch of sweetness. I get the always crispy, delicious fresh karaage every time - and it comes with miso soup as an included app! You get so much protein here and you want to eat it all because of this chickens satisfying bite. The mac salad and rice are great sides but I can honestly eat the chicken alone some days. I came here on a whim due to a friend telling me about how good it is - and I was absolutely satisfied. There was no line when I went there around 7 on a tuesday night, and I was greeted by a very friendly waiter. I ordered the karaage sichimi and the setsuna fries with a side of spicy mayo and got them pretty quickly. The karaage chicken was really tender and juicy, with the perfect amount of crunch. By itself however, it really just tasted like chicken and was lacking in some sort of a kick. That extra required kick came in the form on the lemon on the side. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE AS ME! LEMON IS ESSENTIAL. The lemon juice brings out so much more of the spices on the chicken and balances super well with the chicken's meatiness. Unfortunately, the dish only came with one lemon slice, so I had to order a few more lemon slice to really enjoy the chicken. The setsuna fries were super unique to say the least. I've never tried soy sauce and butter fries, and I was really pleasantly surprised. The fries had a bit of a funky fermented smell due to the soy sauce, but the fermented soy actually paired really well with the spicy mayo, which I would highly recommend getting. The intense savory taste of the fries really balanced well with the spicy mayo which provided a nice kick as well as a bit of a refreshing creamy flavor.
