I've eaten here a few times. The food is ok and the ambiance and service are a little less than warm. Beware: outside they are not enforcing the no smoking rule. It's not just vaping, these are heavy cigarettes. Give it a try, inside...but I'd take it to go, personally. With so many Armenian food places to choose from in Glendale, I wouldn't put it at the top of my list. read more

We were walking around Americana and saw this place across the street! They seating inside and out and it's really nice! I got their cheese pizza and wife got there chicken! They give you a lot of food and there plates are huge! Pizza was not that great! No flavor! The chicken was awesome and want to try other dishes! Not good a service charge beware! And if you sit outside the smokers are terrible! They eat and then smoke right next to you! It ruined my meal! read more

Went for a late lunch so it was not busy. The restaurant is pretty big and has a nice sized patio. Our server was sweet. She offered still or sparkling water and when we said still, she named different bottled brands. It seemed odd we couldn't just get tap water. Food below. 3 dips- roasted tomatoes, taziki and hummus. The hummus was a bit runny. The roasted tomatoes were good but slightly bitter. Taziki was my favorite. Chicken ciabatta - my husband liked it. It was a pretty big sandwich and they gave him tons of fries. Beef Lula platter- the meat (ground meat) was super tasty. I died my taziki on it. The cabbage mixture was nice and mild too. Rice was OK. A little slip in my opinion is that my husband's sandwich came out way before mine. He was almost done by the time my food came out. I would come back to try the BBQ . read more

My husband and I came here without a reservation on a Saturday night in early July. We arrived around 5:30 pm and were seated immediately after arriving. I'd been looking at Yelp as I wanted Georgian food, but Armenian was the closest I could find in LA. I saw that Kara's Dine-in had khachapuri, a dish that I love, so that's why we ended up here. There were several tables full of people already eating despite the early time. Our server brought us menus straight away but took a long time after that to return and bring us water. She was polite but not the most efficient or friendly. We decided to get the grilled vegetable dip to share between us. For mains, my husband had the pelmeni and I ordered the adjarian khachapuri. The adjarian khachapuri here was a slightly different texture to the khachapuri I've had before in Georgian restaurants. This one wasn't bad but I preferred the khachapuri I've had at other Georgian restaurants. The pelmeni were good and very moreish. The ambiance here is casual, and despite being a full-service restaurant, feels like a fast casual place. Service is brisk and not super friendly. They took a very long time to bring us water, and the wait staff seemed harried. We may come back here if we're in the mood for Armenian cuisine. read more

Came here on a Friday evening and was served by a wonderful staff member! We ordered 4 dishes, which includes the plov beef, lamb chops, zharkoe with pork, and khurjin with beef. I tend to be cautious when I dine out because of the salt content but everything was nicely seasoned, not overly salty at all... just perfect in taste. We also arrived during happy hour so I got the Spicy Aztec cocktail and they do not skim out on the liquor ; ) My family and I truly enjoyed our dinner here as the ambience and service was great! Located near the Americana, Kara's offers both indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated right away despite it being a busy Friday evening. Parking is metered on the street. For the meal, we shared the chicken breast and pork ribs BBQ with rice and salad. Both meats were incredibly tender -- definitely something I would order again. We also tried the grape leaf dolma, but I wasn't as impressed. The dish came drenched in a bit too much yogurt sauce and sour cream. I would have preferred the sauces on the side. Also, the portion size felt a bit small for the price. A couple of nice touches was the basket of complimentary bread and live Jazz music. I always passed by this place since it's right across the Americana but never thought of going in bc the signage didn't really appeal to me. Then my roommate suggested it for dinner, and I am so glad she did. Everything we got on the menu that evening was great. The bread with cheesy egg, the beef kebab, and the vegetable dip were all solid 10s. I loved how fresh the tomato and red onion side salads were. Apparently, the style of this cuisine is more Eastern and I enjoyed it thoroughly! Especially in Glendale where it's kebabland, Karas stands out and I would definitely come back here. The service was a bit slower, but he was very informative and tended to everyone in the restaurant in a timely and efficient manner. He was the only server I saw that evening. When I come here I always order the burger. It's so tasty that also comes with a bed of fries. I love this drink, it's amazing! (Lemonade Kazbegi Pear). They have two but not a fan of the other one. There's inside and outside patio seating with misters for the heat. The place is relaxed, nice for dinners and family setting as well. The staff is kind and very attentive. Keep in mind at times they do charge for the bread and butter, don't really agree with that but ya. read more

We've visited this spot several times. The location is convenient if we're going to be in Glendale. In addition, we appreciate that you're able to get seated quickly versus Raffi's that sometimes has a long wait especially on the weekends. Food is decent. There are more choices here than Raffi's which we all appreciate. For a family, you can order their family meal which has all of the meat varieties that you could possibly want. It also gives you the opportunity to try them all. With that said, it would be nice if you didn't have to pay for the bread basket which has a few pieces of bread for the whole table to share. Service here is pretty quick. You get your food quickly however, the waitresses tend to rush you through your meal. The last time we were there (this past weekend), they kept coming to our table wanting to bus it while we were talking to family who was visiting from out of state. Then, once we paid our bill (again being rushed by our waitress), we asked for water. She brought a pitcher of water and set it on the table and walked away. It would have been nice if that didn't happen but okay. Weekends they have live music. Ask for a table outside if you want to converse with the people you're having dinner with. It gets pretty loud inside the restaurant. They have heaters and work pretty well which is nice. read more

We hadn't visited since February, 2020. Before the pandemic might as well have been 10 years ago, if the world shut down 6 years ago. We were overdue for a followup visit. Judging by how the food went down, we were sore for it. We ordered the Big Tex: four meats and four sides - tri-tip, brisket, pulled pork and links; kale greens, bbq beans, mac and cheese and fries. We opted for the cornbread in the roll slot. It should be the top meats in your order, by premium scale and availability, but more often than they should be, the brisket/tri-tip selections are, 90%, obligatory orders. I think I have a love/hate relationship with the way LA treats the pepperoni pizza of bbq meats. Swinging Door broke us off proper though. Not too fatty. Great tenderism. And the accompanying sauce complemented the smoked all stars, rather than compensated for lack of flavor. Didn't stop me from loving their Whiskey bbq sauce though. The beans were a true bbq side, swimming in a mild sauce and containing lovely chunks of link. And the kale greens - sheesh - I think they might've switched to kale since our first visit. An effective exercise in alternative ruffage that holds seasoning and jucies for a similar bbq/soulfoud bite. We live further away now. Took the food to go, to prevent the intermittent rain from foiling more of our plans. It traveled well. And since I'm using our leftover bbq sauce on every other meal I cook, I'd say we successfully made do with our lunch substitute.

Bludso's brisket is tender and marinated just right. While some briskets are too salty, Bludso's maintains a light and balanced flavor profile, which lets me enjoy the flavor of the beef. However, be warned that some leaner cuts might be a tad bit dry. The pork ribs were also great. although they weren't "fall off the bone" soft, it's still one of the best ones I've had in LA. The sides were also good. They weren't mind blowing but they were definitely comforting. Overall, Bludso's is a great BBQ spot that I would come to again and again. Definitely one of the best in LA. Note: I do have to say that if you're from Texas, you might not be "wow'd". Franklin BBQ in Austin is leagues above both Bludso's and Moo's (first time in my life having brisket melt in my mouth!!). But if you've never left LA, Bludso's will probably be the some of the best BBQ you've had in your life!

We ordered the El trio platter, which comes with 1 lbs of brisket, 1 lbs of pork ribs, 2 sausages (chili relleno and cheddar jalapeno) and 2 sides (which we chose Mac and cheese and red potato salad). We also saw the burgers from YouTube so got 2 of the Thicc burgers to share among everyone. We got a sides of the Texas chili to try. Everything was great. Our group really enjoyed the food and everyone said the BBQ was some of the best they've had. The brisket was really tender and seasoned well. Everything was seasoned well actually. The burger was great. It was soft, great flavor and was just really solid. One of the best burgers I've had. The ribs were everyone's least favorite, but that just means the other food tasted better.
