This restaurant is an Armenian/Georgian/Eastern European style eatery. I was there yesterday around 4:15pm. As I was about to walk in, Gayane with a pleasant smile wanted to know if I wanted to eat in or order food to go. I told her I would like to sit on the patio, soak up the sun and the beautiful weather. She brought me a menu and looking at the menu which had a lot of entreés to choose from, I decided to go with their 5x Large Khinkali with ground beef that was topped and garnished with fresh cilantro & pomegranate. I also ordered 1x Large Blinchik (stuffed with Meat) & 1x large Chicken BBQ Wrap that came with a side of tomato sauce. The Chicken Wrap was toasted very well and inside were a lot of healthy vegetables: Mayo, Ketchup, Raw Onions, Pickles, Cilantro, Lettuce & tomato. All the fine dishes tasted divine, flavorful and very fresh!! I also wanted to try couple of their fruit juices and the Mikado dessert, but she told me they were out. It's ok, there will definitely be a next time because I am planning to return back next time I am in Glendale. For one person it was a lot of food. Total came out to be $57.38. Love this place, I always order khinkali, which are large dumplings and filled with such a flavorful broth. I was disappointed that they now charge for sour cream, as it used to be included with the khinkalis in the past. The server was so polite he explained what each dish was It was my first time to try their cranberry nut buttered rice, and dumplings butter poured over. It was totally delicious!!!! I was on my way to visit my son who works down the street at select physical therapy... then I came across this cute little restaurant!! I have also ordered the lamb soup. When the first came out, it did not have the covered baked dough over it. They said it will take another 20 minutes to bake that and they said most people eat it without it. I was referring to the photo that they had advertise (by the way they need to update the prices of their food. Easily one of the best lamb dishes I've had anywhere. The presentation was beautiful and the attention to quality was obvious. Major respect to the chef! Unfortunately, the customer service didn't match the food quality. I ordered Special Chicken and Beef Kebabs to-go, which clearly show on their menu (even the to-go version) that they come with a red tomato dipping sauce. When I picked up my food, there was no sauce included. The cashier told me it's "only for dine-in." I showed her the menu, but instead of correcting it, they charged me $1.99 for a small side of sauce. It's not about the money -- it's about honoring what you advertise. I had just spent over $100. Small moves like this leave a bigger bad taste than missing sauce ever could. If the sauce policy changed, the menu should be updated. The male old guy chef forcefully forced opened the locked bathroom door while I, a female customer, was doing #2 in the bathroom yesterday. I was in there 7-8 min. One of their staff members told me that someone told me the bathroom had someone inside but he decided to do it anyway. Their staff member Mary lied and said they had on video he was trying to talk but the owner Samvel called me later in the evening and said that he never tried to talk through the door. He didn't even need to use the toilet. He just came, broke down the door and went back to the kitchen when I told him off. The owner said he would show me the video but when I called to get the address the day of the appointment, he refused. When I asked more questions, they kept changing their story as to why he broke down the locked door to the bathroom while I was inside. We asked to order a plate of fresh greens and add cheese instead of the usual lavash and fruit (as listed in their cheese plate). The server agreed and said it would be no problem. But later, when our main dishes arrived, we were told they couldn't do that -- and that we'd have to order the cheese separately. It made little sense, especially since both items are already on the menu. The logic behind this decision wasn't clear, and the communication took too long. On top of that, even with only about four tables occupied in the entire restaurant and several staff members present, the service was very slow .Waiting for the check took much longer than expected. One of the plates we ordered was jarkoe at this place not even half eaten we found a human hair under the food in the plate. We told the server and instead of being apologetic all she did was give excuses and insisted it couldn't be from them that maybe the hair landed from sitting outdoors, yes that makes sense, the hair landed on the bottom of the food. We were disgusted and disappointed with how it was handled. We want to give business to the small businesses but this is not how you handle situations like this. The female staff are not so friendly especially the lady in the counter but the male staff are fairly accommodating. I had the beef kabob shawarma and cafe glace (espresso with ice cream and tastes more like ice cream) and my husband got himself the beef plate with rice which were both tasteful. However, while eating we saw a fly on the food. We told the staff regarding the fly. We waited for a while until the staff finally deducted the beef plate from our bill. Initially they still included it even after we showed them the fly. They had to call the admin or probably the owner to confirm which was for me frustrating because evidently the food has already been contaminated and it seemed they disregarded it in the beginning and needed to confirm the owner.
