    Supposedly Mango Sticky Rice
    Julie P.

Went in to have dinner, cozy spot , nothing fancy. We ordered duck noodle soup, pork boat soup. Shrimp thai fried rice, thai iced tea, a beer and mango sticky rice. . Soups were very sweet, the broth tasted stale. Shrimp rice was ok, lacked the typical thai flavor. We never received the thai iced tea, the host/ waitress was awful. We asked for hot sauce, she brought some out in a jar and while we were eating came and took it away. She insisted in giving a beer I didn't want and brought the check 15 mins before bringing dessert. While still drinking the beer she came and took the glass, attempting to pour out the remaining contents and ended up spilling it. I would not recommend nor return. Not worth it.

Very nice! Living nearby, we get lunch from here often. Small, cozy neighborhood place with good food and friendly staff. We usually get drunken noodles, or fried rice and mango sticky rice to finish.

    Massaman Curry with tofu

Great food! Great service. I had the pineapple fried rice with veggies and the massaman curry with tofu. Both were fantastic! The $12 lunch deal is even on Sundays.

Tiny, clean, simple space. Not suitable for parties larger than 4. The whole restaurant seats 14ish people at most. Staff are friendly and accommodating. Dropped by for lunch. The lunch special (noodles/rice dish with a side of a spring roll/dumpling/soup) portion was small, so I decided to order the regular $15 beef drunken noodle portion. Sad to say that the portion was small. The sauce was watery. The dish was too mild even for me, someone who does not like spice. But I did not even ask to make this dish mild. Exactly two tiny slices of carrot and bell pepper. Mostly noodles, barely any protein or veggies.

Drunken Noodle lunch special, not so special

Lunch special drunken noodle $12. Not worth it. Super small portion and holy salt! Ridiculously salty! No utensils even though I asked for it. Plus the delivery guy was supposed to come to the reception area, he didn't even come in the building.

    Duck Noodle Soup

Wonder around this area with my friend and we decided to check Kare Thai out. The restaurant is small, good for a group of 4 or less. The hostess was really sweet and was attentive to us. For appetizer we did the popcorn shrimp and the dumplings. The dumplings were really good, the popcorn shrimp was good as well, but I felt like it should've had a bit lesser breading. For entree I had the Duck Noodle Soup and it was amazing. The duck and noodles were delicious as well as the broth. It was smooth and not salty. I definitely would recommend this soup. Overall, great food and experience, a small hidden gem away from the nearby touristy area. I also recommend trying out the thai iced tea!

Chicken Pad Thai Noodle Lunch Special

I really enjoyed having lunch from here! I started off with the chicken pad thai with spring rolls, my usual go-to. The drunken noodles with tofu were delicious and the shrimp and chicken dumplings were delicious as well! They have a very extensive lunch menu selection available. The portions were probably a touch smaller than some other spots I've been too, but there was a generous amount of protein and veggies in both the dishes.

The drunken noodles are delicious!! You also really can't go wrong with the pad Thai, too good! I got takeout so I can't speak for the dining experience, but my food was delivered hot & quickly! Very pleased!

Came here after I saw the sign for happy hours on my way from work. $8 for 2 Singha? Sure. I like it! Atmosphere: small but clean and cozy. Service: The owner(?)/waitress wasn't that friendly unfortunately. Wasn't really able to tell me much about their dishes either. Food: Overall was o...k.... -- Beef in beef salad was so rubbery and over seasoned. Not too much vegetables either. -- Chicken satay was also not too impressive. Oh....too much curry powder on it. Will I come back? Provably not :/ I'd rather pay for the full price for drinks and get better quality Thai food.

Pad See Eiw and Drunken Noodle
    Emily K.

This place is okay. Got my typical order of pad se eiw and drunk noodles. Portions here are less than other places Not as many fresh vegetables Pad se eiw just tasted like soy sauce. Drunk noodles were fine (chicken was a bit hard). Overall the price is in line with other places ($13/ noodle entree with veg or chicken) but the competition for Thai food in midtown is fierce!

Not all midtown restaurants stay open past 10, and I was relieved to find their kitchen going strong at that hour, as well as their dining space, which was full. Turned out it was for good reason because their food was delicious. My friend and I were hoping to eat at a restaurant nearby specializing in crab, but they closed much earlier. Fortunately for us, SaiTong's menu had plenty of crab on it, and we decided to double up and make each of our entree's a crab one. The black spaghetti crab curry and crab curry noodles advertised themselves as being very different dishes in both presentation and ingredients but ended up tasting kind of similar. One was topped with deep fried crab and used a different type of noodle than the other, but the sauces were so similar. This is not to say that they didn't taste good, but I would've preferred more variance. I'm glad we got an order of papaya salad to cut the richness of the other dishes, and I also appreciated it had a nice level of heat in it. Our servers were really friendly without being overbearing, and let us linger for a bit even after we paid the bill, as it was their last seating for the evening. There are so many excellent Thai restaurants in the city and I'd put SaiTong firmly in the category of perfectly solid spots to get your Thai fix, with some special dishes on the chef's menu worth checking out.
