I've known this place for years and I know the previous owners and all. However, when they change owners, it's just not the same anymore. Food is so pricey with small portions of poor quality food .. I cannot order my stuff online because of discrepancies being charge twice while being lied to and mostly, I have a problem with one girl there! I won't say names but exactly, this one girl who works there is very rude and inconsiderate. So many times when I had to deal with her, she messed up my order, given my order to another person and many incident happens when every time I dealt with her. She kept saying sorry but she doesn't mean it! She kept making the same mistakes over and over again until I had enough and turn away this location! When I confront her about it, I know she won't take accountability for her mistakes. Also, if you want to tell them about your food allergies, you must tell them more than one time because there's one time, I told them please don't add peanuts onto my food and I don't know if they forgot or not, but they did add it so it's always best to tell them! Ordered in on a whim and wasn't disappointed! We got the summer rolls to begin. The rolls were tasty and the sauce went well. They could've been wrapped a little better - they didn't hold their own and fell apart halfway through. For mains we got the pineapple fried rice and the peanut curry. The peanut curry was flavorful and had a good mix of tofu and vegetables. The pineapple fried rice was tasty too but it was a tad too eggy for me. The wife loved the pineapple fried rice. Stopped in for a late lunch after an event at Pier 92. Nice enough small space. I liked the décor. A long mirror along one wall makes the space look a lot bigger than it is. (I will post a photo) Server was friendly and efficient. My guess is that they do a lot of take-out. Prices seem reasonable. I had the lunch special for $8.00. Chicken and shrimp dumplings (good) and the rice stir fry with cashews and chicken (good). I would order either dish again. Nice enough but not special. A Thai beer was $4.00. So let me say the food is delicious however I order from here pretty much every week. We even order with for my company lunch in which is my recommendation. They started off really good, great service, great food. My review isn't base on the food but they took a turn with service. I had one experience where I ordered food, I was unavailable to go down to get it . One of my coworkers went down to get it. However I paid with a credit card, my coworker didn't want to add anything as it wasnt her card. The delivery man refuse to give the food because she would not give a tip. He proceeded to call the restaurant to tell them this. She got rather upset and called me. I told her go ahead and sorry i didnt tell her. However the principle is I PAID FOR MY FOOD , YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO REFUSE GIVING ME MY FOOD BECAUSE YOU DIDNT GET A TIP!!!!! Another time I always order either the drunken noodles or the fried rice which has bell peppers. I am allergic, the guy that normally answers knows this is something I do . I used to add broccoli but they all of sudden stated that the chef said no i cant do that . So i asked what else? I added mushrooms. Ordered for 3 weeks straight the same way. I just called and was told by the lady that they cant do that . I explained to her that I order every week, what changed. She placed me on hold then came back and said ok ok this time. THE BEST THAI FOOD I'VE EVER HAD. I've tried a few in the neighborhood and this one besides Obao is the best I've had in a long time. While supporting local restaurants during this quarantine, I've decided to indulge in my Thai cravings and order. I ordered two sides of spring rolls, one chicken pad thai, and one order or Thai fried rice with chicken. I also tipped the delivery guy $11, not only did my food come out sizzling hot, and came on time, and everything was perfect! The pad thai was not greasy, nor was the spring rolls. My delivery guy was even nice enough to come upstairs to our door. Also, the amount of food they gave us was way more than I've ever gotten from any restaurant takeout. Thank you so much Kare Thai, you've definitely gotten a new customer out of this. My dad loved his rice and ate everything in one sitting. I strongly don't recommend it. It's a terrible place. I came to the restaurant in the hope that they would let my pregnant girl go to the toilet for a few minutes, because she felt bad, and the restaurant turned out to be the nearest open place. But the employees refused, explaining that the toilet is only for customers. Okay, I understand everything and respect the laws. I won't even pay attention to the fact that my woman is PREGNANT. I offered to buy something from them, but even in this case I was refused, justifying it with a closed box office! And do you know what your "polite" employees recommended to me? They recommended a pregnant girl with poor health to look for a toilet across the street!!! By the way, all this conversation was right next to the toilet door.. Ordered delivery from Seamless on a Sunday close to 5pm and took 20min to arrive, so that was a win win! The chicken drunken noodles was delicious, flavorful and saucy. Definitely ordering this again in the future. The beef pad Thai on the other hand was lacking sauce, flavor, a little dry and bland. Not a dish we will re-order. I eat here at least once a week. I LOVE IT. Its not expensive and the food is so tasty. It always come hot and quick no matter what time of day I order. We ordered two pad thai (chicken and beef) and one udon to go. It took a little a while to get our order but that can be understandable as they were also processing several takeaway orders at the same time. Decent Thai food for the neighborhood. My last order included Tom Yum soup with chicken, pan fried dumplings, pineapple fried rice and spring rolls. The spring rolls were great. Crispy and well filled. The dumplings weren't crispy at all but the flavor was good. As for the Tom Yum, it was a little sweeter than I like. I'm used to a strong lemongrass flavor with strong spice. I placed an order thru Yelp for pick up. The process was easy. I ordered the drunken noodles and had the option to make it mild, medium, spicy, and very spicy. Usually when you ask a thai restaurant to make the food very spicy it comes out very mild. To my surprise, the noodles were very spicy and had a great kick to it. They called me 20 minutes later to ask me to count the boxes and told me they would NOT send the order because two many try to say they did not get an item to get free food. I live a few blocks away from this place and I usually grab a quick a cup of Thai Ice-Tea when I'm passing by or do the classic Chicken Pad Thai take out. This Monday, my boyfriend and I decided to dine-in. First of all, the place is so cute and welcoming. They recently renovated I think, and it just looks super cozy and even more inviting from the outside. The young man who served us was very sweet and tentative. I must applaud the presentation of the food, it looked amazing and it tasted even better! Since we were there during lunch hours, we got the lunch special which included an appetizer and an entrée. I ordered a Chicken Panang Curry as the main dish and Dumplings as starters. My boyfriend had the Crab Rangoon starter and the Chicken Pad Thai. We were both beyond satisfied with the meals, service and the overall experience! I hate to make comparisons, but there is another Thai place between 57th and 56th street on 10th Avenue called "Thailand Restaurant" and they are much pricier (the Thai Ice Tea is $ 4.25 while Kare Thai charges only $ 3.00). SCAM ALERT! I'll start off by saying that the food here is fantastic and this would have been a four or five star review if not for their underhanded, unethical nonsense that they pulled on our bill. When we got the bill, we paid with a visa gift card (luckily.) While the bill amount for our meal was correct, we were a little shocked when the "available balance" was considerably less than what it should have been. My wife called the number on the card to confirm and was told that was correct as our card had been charged for approximately $6 and change more than the total on the slip. After a minute or two, it became apparent that they had taken it upon themselves to add an amount EXACTLY 20% of the total to our party of 2. What irked me the most is that the tip line was left blank and we had almost thrown down an amount greater than what they charged, so our server, who coincidentally rang us up, didn't have to claim the charged tip. She obviously got nothing additional from us. If you go here and use a card, call it in, or simply use cash. You've been warned. read more

I've only ordered delivery from Kare, but man, it always hits the spot. They have all of the standard dishes you're looking for, at about $2-3 less than the other Thai restaurants in HK. All of my entrees have been good. Their spring rolls are also delectable, and--here's my favorite part--the Thai iced tea and iced coffee is ONLY $2.50! Gets me every time. They also usually include complementary tapioca pudding made with coconut milk (genius) when you order delivery. Their delivery been fast and reliable every time I've ordered. I LOVE IT. read more
