Came to the Hugh for lunch and Thai food is always my default at food courts so I was excited. It took almost 20 minutes after I ordered before I received my food which was crazy because I thought my order was fairly simple. I ordered Pad Thai and I felt like the chicken was too thick cut and didn't have a lot of flavor. Also, there weren't a lot of other ingredients other than noodles and bean sprouts which were overwhelming the entire dish. I wish that they had some more tofu or egg. Overall would not be coming back to this specific vendor when at the Hugh. Should've gotten Miznon instead which literally has the best steak pita pockets I've ever had, at least the one in Chelsea does. read more

Overall, this place was really great! Definitely one of the cheaper options in the area. When we went up to the cashier, we were greeted and asked if we had been there before. There was a moderate selection for a take-out place. The kiosk is located to the side, it was definitely more quiet than other restaurants within the large open area. We decided to get it to-go and eat outside, where there was so many seating options. This place is conveniently located right near the train too! The portions were huge! I truly regret coming to this place. I should've read the recent reviews beforehand. This used to be a good Thai spot but after about a year and a half of not visiting, it has completely gone downhill. I placed a to-go order, and the woman with glasses who took it was shockingly rude. As soon as I mentioned one item, she immediately snapped, "That's it?" So I told her I had one more item and managed to finish my order, but before completing the payment, she disappeared into the kitchen, therefore I didn't even get a receipt. (Apparently, they were out of paper) After about 5 minutes, I called her back to get a receipt, and then I finally received it. Although she made me wait for quite a while, she said absolutely nothing, not even a simple apology. Unbelievably unprofessional. As for the food, it was just awful. The chicken fried rice was dry, overly salty, and completely flavorless, like something barely edible. The Pad Thai had decent shrimp, but the rest of it tasted lazy and careless, nowhere near what it used to be. This place used to serve great food, and the female cashier was always friendly. I have no idea what happened, but we will never come back again. To make matters worse, they gave me a bag without handles, which tore almost immediately and caused quite a mess. This Thai restaurant called "Thank You Come Again" is located inside the Hugh, and you can enter on E. 53rd St., between 3rd and Lex or you can enter from the Lexington Avenue entrance where you would walk down a few flights of outdoor stairs. If you enter on East 53rd, you will walk down some wide, inside stairs with handrails, and you will see lovely trees, tables, and hanging lights as you enter, as well as stadium-style seating on each side of the wide entry stairs. There are lots of food selections by various vendors and tonight I tried this one--THAI FOOD--from a restaurant called "THANK YOU COME AGAIN". . I would definitely try other menu items as well because this dish was truly delicious, see my photos and I also ordered the Thai milk tea which in case you don't know is on the sweet side and it was delicious and refreshing ...a nice combination with the pineapple fried rice or any meal from the menu. It's located in the Hugh food court in a highly visible spot with lots of stool seating. For lunch, they have a limited selection - they didn't have tom yum soup (relatively standard thai item if you ask me.) The service is terrible - the cashier and staffer acted as if I was inconveniencing them. I ordered the chicken pad thai - they said 20min!!! Fine, I'll kill some time and read. They end up giving my order away while I sat at their counter as I watched. It's mayhem there. I finally get my chicken pad thai and the noodles are hard. They didn't soak it long enough. Found a random shrimp tail mixed in, too. While the flavor was good, it's not worth $16, the wait, and the attitude. There are so many more options in the food court. read more

Aside from service - which has steadily been getting better - TYCA's cooking is pretty good if you're in this neighborhood and craving Thai. Plus they're in the lovely fancy Hugh food court. Pro-tip: Buy hot sauce at Teranga (around the corner) and apply to whatever you buy at TYCA. Their sauce is FIRE and goes perfectly well with a fried rice. Trust me if you're a hot sauce fiend. The Hugh eatery hall finally opened across from my work place. Was walking around during lunch break and I saw they had Thai iced milk green tea and thai iced milk tea displayed. I rarely ever see thai milk green tea so I wanted to give it a try. It was around $5.70 including tax. It was a bit overly sweet but also had a strong tea flavor. It would complement something savory. I will definitely come back again for their lunch special. When I went to pick it up, I saw that it was ready on the counter w/ my name on it but the employees would not give it to me as there was no one in charge of pickup orders. After waiting 10+ minutes, someone finally noticed and gave me my order, which had been sitting on the counter for a while. This has happened a few other times in the past. It took them 25 minutes! I timed them. That is unacceptable. And the staff don't seem to really care. All you get is a "sorry." Yet it does have four fresh shrimps in it, the taste is just wrong. I can't taste any creamy and sweetness. The soup is almost clear. It has four shrimps and some mushrooms floating around. Usually there are bunch of lemon grass and other stuff but it's ok. Yes, the food here is very good. I like the fact that it's not too greasy/oily/salty, which is a common issue for "Asian" food in the US. However, I wouldn't say that it's the best Thai food in Manhattan or that I was blown away, as some reviewers would have you believe. The main reason for the negative rating is the wait time. I placed a lunch takeout order online and it took OVER AN HOUR for my order to be ready. While I was there, I was chatting with other customers waiting for their orders, and everyone was having the same issue. This is simply UNACCEPTABLE for takeout, especially LUNCH. We are not in France to be able to take a 90 minute lunch break during the work day... The worst part is the complete indifference of the staff. They were not apologetic, they were not offering us complimentary drinks or appetizers or even discounts on future orders, nada. Just smirking and shrugging their shoulders. I even got the sense that they were deriving some sadistic pleasure from seeing us all get super stressed out. This is the issue I have with these online systems that ask you to tip before getting your order. I tipped them and what I got was bad service and an hour long wait for my order. Do yourself a favor and don't go here for lunch. The Hugh has a good selection of restaurants and none of the other ones I've tried had this issue. I loved the aroma and flavor of this tofu dish. The tofu was nice and soft, the flavoring was perfect, and the quantity of food was just right (but wish there could be a bit more tofu and a little less white rice).
