Oh, WOW! I went in yesterday and bought the most gorgeous lemon poppy seed bread. Creamy and moist. Today it will be the muffin size quiches. They looked yummy. But the most extraordinary thing was a big Thanksgiving Altar. I have no idea how Karma survived Covid, or how we all survived, but I do know I was completely blown away about the testimony of gratitude. worst smoothies ever . waiting a long time for a "strawberry banana smoothie" for 10$. I asked for oatmilk to substitute and was charged for it and watched as the lady still used regular milk. Okay. So the first time I went here, it was lovely. Arrived around 2:30-3 on a Thursday and had a wonderful drink and a decent pesto sandwich. Having enjoyed my precious experience, I thought I would go back with a couple of friends (on three separate occasions) during the week/weekend (excluding Monday because they are closed). Sadly, I have NEVER been able to replicate that experience... Every single time I returned, they were closed. On Yelp and other search engines, it said the place was open. The smoothies and juices are delicious, but the best part is the ambience and environment for working. I absolutely love the hippie interior decor that makes the space charming and homey. It feels comfortable and intimate. Plus the baristas are wonderful - they'll sometimes chat with me and have even given me extra drinks for free! Karma cafe, surrounded by rainbows and charming decor and yet this is the vibe? Ok. So I get my food thinking this must be amazing lemonade. It was so disgustingly sweet and overly saturated with simple syrup. For $7 I expect organic Meyer lemons and ginger, not simple syrup. The burrito was tasty... but I also received a very sick stomach the rest of my day that no one needs details for. The owner clearly put effort into the space which is nice and maybe these are newer employees because most of the other reviews are great but it was such a weird followed by bad (getting sick) experience, I don't think I can come back here. What an amazing neighborhood gem! There are often samples to taste lots of the menu. The coffee is great, smoothies are amazing (espresso nut is my fave, PBJ also great), candied bacon is ridiculous, and the service top notch. Everyone is so friendly, helpful, and gracious.
