I ate at Karondas on Thursday night. I had one of the best ribeye steaks I have had in a long time. The steak was cooked to perfection and was tender and juicy. We went to this place for the first time earlier today to participate in a charity motorcycle ride. The staff were all super nice! The bar and dining room and restrooms were very clean. I love the food. Never a meal that I didn't enjoy. The service on the other hand, is so much more than less desirable. The day shift waitress is horrible. Today I waited almost 15 minutes before she even acknowledged my presence. The only reason she waited on my then was because 2 other people came in the door. You sit your entire meal without ever seeing her. She did refill our drinks once, after we were finished eating. She brought our checks and said I'll be right back to get those. She never returned. After waiting a good 15 minutes, we walked to the register. After continuing to wait at the register, we laid the tickets and a $20 bill on the counter. This place is def a lil hidden gem of a sports bar. We had dinner there the other night. I Ordered the smothered chicken with a side of macaroni salad and a baked sweet potato.. The quality of the food and presentation of it was more then I expected from the sports bar atmosphere. My chicken was tender and smothered with cheese, mushrooms, onions and green peppers. Lots of flavor. The sweet potato was of great quality. It wasn't hard or stringy like some potato's are. It came served with a side of cinnamon butter. The macaroni salad had a good spice added to it. My Boyfriend had the daily special which was half rack or ribs. that was a huge rack of ribs and the meat was so tender if fell off the bone. his came with a side of coleslaw that I ended up taking over :-) and also a baked sweet potato.. the waitress we had really added to the great experience of our meal. I believe her name was Danielle. We told her it was our first time and she was very helpful in picking out items to try. During the meal she came by with a complimentary sample of the house pimento cheese and crackers. .That was really some amazing pimento cheese. chunky just like I like!!! I will def order a hamburger next time with pimento cheese toped on it! They have lots of entertainment throughout the week. from Bingo to karaoke. The prices have gone out of sight...a chicken breast, green beans, and mashed pot. For $11.95 on a Thursday night. No drink, or anything extra. Clubs and burgers are still good. However, service is HORRIBLE. When the place is empty you will still eat 30+ minutes for your food. Pub chips are good when they are fresh, but generally they are much less than generous and rather stale. read more

Only go on Sunday for the buffet. Food is good and the service is acceptable. This past Sunday(10-15-17), all was well until several unruly and uncontrolled children started throwing pool balls back and forth across the pool table. In addition to the noise, the chance of one of those balls hitting someone was very real. No one attempted to stop this nonsense so we tried to get someone to intercede. The people who should have been in charge of these kids were not only unwilling to stop them but suggested maybe we should leave instead. We did just that. I doubt we will ever be back; which is a shame because the food is really quite good. read more

Karondas in Greensboro, NC is a great affordable place to eat any day of the week. The name itself comes from the two owners, who are sisters. One being Karen and the other Ronda. First let me start by saying the food is not only edible (unlike some restaurants) BUT extremely tasty and satisfying. They have a variety of different types of foods starting with the appetizers. You can start off with a nice portion of her homemade pimento cheese dip (which is what she's famous for) served with fresh pita chips. Maybe you're in the mood for cheese fries , cheese sticks , spinach dip , fried pickles, the list goes on and on. I would definitely recommend trying out their turkey burger , its juicy , hot and full of flavor. Which is always a good thing when your stomach is growling at you. After you have chosen your delicious dish, DON'T STOP ! Go ahead and choose from one of the many amazing desserts. You can pick the mouth watering brownie sundae that's served with a warm brownie, ice cream, chocolate syrup, whip cream, and you can even add some wet walnuts. mmm mmm good ! All of these dishes alone are generally either under or a little over 10$, depending on if you can control yourself and just stick with an entree. Other than that this spot is very affordable , I'm able to eat here more than twice a week. There are often parties here and the kitchen is able to whip up some of their customer favorites. Not only is the food good but the environment is even better. The staff are great and friendly, always coming around making sure the food is to your liking, keeping your cup full, etc. Another plus to this restaurant is that some nights they even have Karaoke, or even a live band. There is always something entertaining going on here. Hands down I would suggest this restaurant to anyone in the surrounding areas, you won't regret it ! read more

I was a little hesitant to go here due to the feedback on Yelp and my friends' own experiences. They have a fish special on Fridays and I'm a big fan of fried fish, so I decided to tag along and give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised with the service. For a Friday night, out waitress was attentive and friendly. The fish and sides weren't outstanding, but the value with the special and quality of the service made it well worth the drive. Their fish was fried nicely and the quality of the fish and the taste of the batter was decent. Their hush puppies were actually quite good and their hot chips were wonderful. The ranch dressing they served, along with the tarter sauce was great. I'm not sure if they were made in-house, but I was more than pleased. The only weak link was the coleslaw, which is a pretty personal preference; your experience in that regard will likely vary. It seemed heavy on the mayo and cabbage, which reminded me of my grandmother, and not in the good way... Karondas isn't the type of restaurant I usually visit, but it's worth the drive for their Friday fish special. I'd go again, assuming my friends that live close by where meeting me there. read more

If your looking to play pool after a hard day of work on Friday don't even try. It's a waste of time pos poker players come in and act like they own the place. Now onto the service. There's a few fantastic waiters...meaning like one but anyways u will wait 30 minutes for a drink and when you put your order in it'll take them an hour and a half to bring it to you. Karondas in northeast Greensboro resides the building that once housed Oh Brians!!! Ribs n More. In my humble opinion, Karondas Sportsbar far outshines the former occupants. The staff are always friendly and personable. I see a review or two that dispute this but i have been to Karondas many times since its opening and can attest that they truly work from the heart. The negative nillies with bad feedback were probably notorious non-tippers that possibly also have relatively poor overall dispostions. My proof of this is one's statement of "bottled ranch". I can unequivocally testify that Karondas would never stoop so low. They take obvious pride in their product and the ranch dressing has always been homemade. This is always one of my first and most important criteria, so to doubt me on this fact would be foolish. So let me get on to the most important aspect of a restaurant, the food.DELECTABLY DELICIOUS!!!! Now I havn't tasted every item on the menu. I only occasionally dare to be whimsically adventurous and try new things ,but most often tend to find what I like right away and stick to those dishes more consistantly. But everything I've tried has been excellent. I especially love the chicken tenders. They are seriously the best I have ever tasted and I have developed a slight addiction to them. When i want a chicken tender meal, there are no substitutes for Karondas.I also have an affinity for the Sunday homecooked buffet, although i sadly do not get to enjoy it often enough. read more
