    Cheese Curds - AMAZING
    Dayla K.

When I am house/pet sitting in the area, I like to sneak away just once to Uptown Charlie's for lunch. Since I am from Minnesota (on the border of Wisconsin) I appreciate good Cheese Curds. They have good cheese curds! They have a great Buffalo Chicken Wrap! Get the fries and dunk both in their amazing creamy ranch dressing! The service here is always fast and the servers are always kind and attentive! I always see several men stopping by for a quick & satisfying meal. Proof the service is fast and the food is good! See you all again soon! Most Sincerely!

Service is great. It was busy and we received our drinks and food timely. My hot dogs were good. The mozzarella sticks were really good. The ranch was tasty. Our waitress was super friendly.

Meh. It was ok. Greeted at the door and given a booth near the bar. The waitress did her job but didn't kill it. I did have to ask for a tea refill. Ordered appetizers. They came out hot and were ok. Several of the cheese curds didn't even have cheese in them! I had the chicken and mushroom sandwich. It was good but did not stand out. The place has a ton of TVs for sports viewing from all angles which is great for football. The place was decently clean. The men's bathroom did not have paper towels. We were there until about 30 minutes until closing and they started cleaning (understandable), however a lot of bleach was used to clean at the bar and was super strong and irritating. I believe that kind of cleaning should wait until customers are gone. Glad we didn't have breathing issues.

Ordered cheese curds and a buffalo chicken wrap. Cooked just right, and right amount of buffalo sauce. Most places they drown the food in the sauce. Cheese curds were garlicky and tasted great.

Great food got the grilled cheddar bacon burger, very huge sports bar, not very business , and get servers check up to see if you need anything overall amazing will definitely come again

What a delight on a Monday to see they had great specials! $8.99 burger with a side and $4 drafts. I ordered a blue moon to drink. For food, I got the A-1 burger which had grilled onions, paper jack cheese, A-1 sauce and mayo. Absolutely delicious! I wish I had asked what other weeknight specials they have because that was an awesome deal!

I have mixed feelings about Uptown Charlie's, so this is really a 3.5-3.75, sometimes 4, star review. Location- Really great for the area and locals, not much else around here like this so it's very much needed! Parking- Great! Shopping center lot, plenty of spaces and stress free Service- Really good! Thorough, servers and bartenders are super friendly and helpful. Very efficient. Drinks- A lot of options, good drink specials. On this visit, my friend ordered a martini and really enjoyed it. I usually order wine and beer so personally can't speak to mixed drinks. Prices - fair and comparable, no complaints Food - This is where I can't seem to give a full 4 or 5 stars. It's not that it's bad, it's just nothing super spectacular and is consistently just okay. I've never had a BAD meal, but everything is kind of bland. On my last visit, I ordered the BBQ chicken entree. It was really big and you get 2 sides, which is nice, for around $15. However, the chips and Mac & Cheese were pretty bland. Not much seasoning or flavor. The chicken was super tender though and had a nice flavor with the toppings. My friend ordered a couple of items off the specialty menu, the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich (which I've also had before and loved!) and the Mexican corn. She really enjoyed both. The corn was pretty good, I had a bite. Again, I've never had a bad meal, it just never leaves me in awe. Overall, good option if you're in the area. A nice bar scene to drink at and watch sports, with a large menu, something for everyone. Just don't go in expectation of a phenomenal meal, but it'll do.

Sampler entree, with tots, cheese curds and "potato skins?" 1 skin cut into 6 pieces?? Pic is exactly what came out to the table.

My son and I were in Winston-Salem for the International Black Theatre Festival with Visit Winston,…read moreand when I learned we had free time for lunch, one recommendation immediately caught my attention. Between the rave reviews and the beautifully designed space, I knew this would be our stop. The first thing I noticed when we arrived was that the parking lot was on the smaller side, but any concern disappeared the moment we checked in. The hostess greeted us warmly, asked for my license plate so she could validate our parking, and had us seated almost immediately. It was such a thoughtful touch and set the tone for the experience. On the way to our table, I couldn't help but notice the inviting patio, perfect for lingering over lunch on a beautiful day. That said, I had reserved an indoor table, and I'm glad I did. The dining room is intimate, stylish, and effortlessly chic. It's the kind of restaurant that feels equally suited for a catch-up with friends as it does for a date night. The tables are close together, creating a lively atmosphere, so it's worth keeping that in mind if you prefer a little more privacy. Our server, Aundria, made an already wonderful experience even better. She was warm, attentive, and knew the menu inside and out. It was also refreshing to see the entire team working together so seamlessly, with everyone stepping in to help one another throughout the meal. I ordered the lobster roll with shoestring fries, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. The lobster was fresh, buttery, and generously portioned, making it one of those dishes I'd happily order again. Before we left, I asked Aundria what she reaches for when she dines there. Without hesitation, she recommended the Korean Beef Bowl, which has already earned a spot on my list for my next visit. As if the experience couldn't have ended on a sweeter note, it started raining just as we were leaving. The hostess grabbed an umbrella and walked me to my car, a simple gesture that perfectly reflected the hospitality we experienced from start to finish. Great food is memorable, but genuine hospitality is what keeps me coming back. This restaurant delivered both, and it's officially earned a place on my list of Winston-Salem favorites.

The "Korean Beef Bowl" came with about a cup of each beef, rice, cucumbers and maybe 1/4th of an avocado for $24. This looked and tasted like a $14 dollar plate at best (seriously, no kimchi even in a Korean bowl?); I left hungry. My wife got the Thai coconut curry, $30 bucks which included an $8 up charge for chicken, in which there were maybe 8 paper thin slices. The curry part was non existent both in volume and in taste. There was barely any sauce, very bland, and it essentially tasted like unseasoned noodles and vegetables. I would gladly come back for a happy hour and enjoy their other drink options and appetizers, but I just cannot justify paying the exorbitant prices for how mediocre the food ultimately was. I wish I had taken a picture of the food to add weight to the review but it was so lackluster looking that it just was not worth photographing in the moment.

The loaded tots were also great. Forgot to take a pic BEFORE we started digging in but you can see the gist in the photo. They're so good! The hostess was on point with her estimate and also very quick to get us seated within the promised time frame. I also found out they offer reservations, so we will use that option loving forward. First of all-service was excellent. Our waiter came to the table within a moment of being seated to get started with waters and non-alcoholic options, and was quick to check back up on us and see if we were ready or had questions. He made several great recommendations on both food and drinks. My only caveat was that my 10 oz steak was a bit on the salty side, but this may be due to the aging process. It was cooked to a beautiful medium per my request, and both my sides (asparagus and loaded baked potato) were yummy, well cooked and seasoned perfectly. My husband got a pasta with pancetta and caramelized onions, and it was absolutely delicious. Suggested wines were paired well with both entrees. We opted to get a few more drinks with dessert, and both were also very good. The bartenders are not stingy in their pours! We also split the butter cake for dessert and I will say that Paula Dean would have been proud of that cake. It was melt-in-your mouth richness paired with a slightly tangy fruit sauce, fresh berries and a tasty vanilla ice cream. The restaurant as a whole was well set up, with multiple types of seating and a large bar area. Decor was well placed and there was enough room to walk through without feeling crowded, despite how busy it was. We will absolutely be back!
