Tried Karvers for a Sunday lunch and it was pretty good. Our server, Caroline, was really fast and friendly. I had the bbq pulled pork sammie which was delicious. The sauce was a little bit sweet and a little bit tangy and I appreciated the crunch of the onion straws. My side of onion rings was kind of bland and needed some type of sauce but they only have horseradish mayo (which my husband got and said it was not spicy and was watery) and siracha mayo so I ate mine dry. Husband got the Philly burger and thought it was good but wished for more flavor all around. Was considering dessert but there were no prices on the dessert menu and if you have to ask, you can't afford it lol. We just moved to the area about a month ago so I trust in yelp to pick out dinner spots. (And brunch spots). On a whim I went with my husband and the in laws on a Saturday night around 6. We got there and the friendly hostess said about 30 min wait. They handed us a buzzer and not even 10 mins later we were seated. Drinks were good and the fried pickle spears app also good. I ordered the burger with pulled pork and omg ... i cannot stop thinking about it. I can't wait to go back and try something else as the menu was very extensive. My FIL ordered the seared tuna salad and that also looked really good. We were all happy with the service and food! We didn't stay for dessert but there will definitely be a next time. read more

First time going here after all the great reviews I figured I would give it a try. I thought the service was good and friendly and the place itself looks nice too. When it comes to the food though I thought it was very subpar. Got the mashed potatoes with ribs and everything was dry as if it sat in the kitchen all day under a heat lamp. The mashed potatoes you could move all together as a clump. Also got the bistro pasta and though it wasn't bad the sauce was very watery and flavorless. May have found a new favorite spot! This place was packed on a Monday night so I can only imagine what their weekend crowd looks like. We enjoyed everything we had including drinks. Got two different specialty items and both were fantastic. For stars because the broccoli potato bites were not covered in broccoli, had I known we would have tried something different. We make it a point to try things we don't normally make at home when we go out. The staff is also great, and hilarious. The place is a little too wide open and lit for me, but the bar area is decent. Bartender was great- very patient with my GF who was asking a million menu questions. This is what I saw when I looked at my husband during a family dinner. WORST table ever in my whole life. When we were seated, I asked if we could please be moved. There was a four-seater right across from us. Our waitress asked the hostess who said that we couldn't move because it was Saturday night and they had lots of reservations. I've been here twice already and I keep recommending this place to others. The menu has so many awesome options to choose from: burgers, salads, flatbreads, pasta dishes... but not your typical types of these options. They have a nacho burger, a Greek lamb burger and a sort of Asian type of burger (obviously there are others, these are just some that stood out to me). They have a couple different types of mac and cheese. The drink menu is even a nice change. Bottom line, come here to try a different version of your generic favorites. The staff is really nice and accommodating, the place is clean, and the atmosphere is nice with the rustic bar feel. From both visits, I don't have a single complaint. Irish spring rolls were so good, spinach dip was good but basic, nothing crazy but still good. We got the greek lamb burger and French dip sandwich as our entrees and both were delicious. We had two servers bc of a shift change but the first young lady and the second young man we had were both super polite and friendly. This was our first time going here and would definitely recommend it. We will be back. And another plus is that it was not super expensive, we had two apps, two entrees, 4 beers and a dessert for less than $100 which is hard to find on the island. Loved it read more

As Erik D. mentioned, "fancier Applebees". But it's actually "fancier Applebees with a hefty price tag". The stars are for quick seating (we made reservations) and nice serving staff. There are loads and loads of servers and bus-people, and they are very attentive to the tables. Let that be said. As for the ambiance, this place is an enormous echo-chamber, lined with hard surfaces which bounce back sound. It's crammed with people trying to have conversations. Add background music and you have a cacophony so loud that you have to yell over your plates to be heard by your date. The tables are put so close together that you are shouting within a three foot range of the people sitting next to you, so you can't discuss anything private or personal over dinner because you'd be shouting it to complete strangers who are sitting as close to you as your dining partner. Either my husband couldn't hear what I was saying, or the people sitting on either side of us could. Sigh. And - of course - the place was kitted out with the obligatory television sets. Which no one could hear even if they, for some inexplicable reason, wanted to watch a random television channel while they're out on a Friday night for dinner. Romance, romance, wherefore art thou? Thou hast been cut in twain by an invasion of sports bars! The food was *slightly* higher grade than Applebees. Hubby had two appetizers, a salad, and unsweetened iced tea. I had an appetizer, fish and chips for dinner, and two drinks. The bill was a couple dollars shy of $100. No, seriously.... neither one of us had steak or lobster, my husband didn't even order an entree, and there were only two drinks with alcohol in them on the bill (neither one came in a hurricane glass with fresh sliced pineapple and umbrellas in it, neither had sparklers or was lit on fire... just a beer and a cocktail). With the tip, more than a hundred bucks. "Fancier Applebees" for two. And a lot of shouting. Meh. If I want to drop a Benjamin plus some of his presidential friends for dinner, give me a little ambiance (of the non-sports-bar type), a nice view maybe, some peace and quiet, ... and at the very least, a little bang for my buck. read more

I really wanted to like this place. They got my order wrong and so I had to wait while my friend ate. When it did arrive chicken was dry. They did keep coming over to check and they could see I was unhappy. They made sure I received the full bill though with no thought of maybe comping my soda or something. My wife and I ate at Karvers just before the pandemic. I recall we ordered two alcoholic drinks, not really sure we would like them. One of the drinks we did not like; strong alcoholic drinks are often that way. But the manager (or assistant manager) on duty came to enquire, and she took the unwelcome beverage and did not charge us for it. She was polite and apologetic. I've had a fair share of apps that are on the menu, all being really good without any complaints what so ever. Dinners I've honestly only had their burgers but to no surprise they also are cooked to perfection the way you request and taste great! The menu is a bit extensive, so take your time or perhaps take a look online and get familiar with it. They have some really impressive food choices, that's for sure. I'm awaiting my next visit to try something else myself. The staff seemed really helpful and informative when asked about appetizers. We don't get out a lot lately - I'm happy we chose this restaurant for our most recent excursion. We had a reservation and they sat us immediately. We really liked the QR code menus. The food came out fast and it was delicious. The biggest shoutout of the night goes to our server, who I believe was named Victoria. She was super bubbly and friendly, high energy, and very knowledgeable. She respected our time constraints and had our drinks, food, and bill to us at the perfect time. My husband and I go here often and love the food and atmosphere although it can get a bit loud on weekends, especially pre-covid when they were doing live music. Great salads and great burgers so definitely stop down to check it out. Make a reservation...always busy! It has great ambiance . So this is the only issue I have. I was starving and on my lunch break the other day, I decided to order take out from there. However their take outs don't include drinks to go. I was only allowed to order food to take out. I was A bit confused. I decided to order out for lunch with com workers so we had a group of people at work order as well. So for all of us to run separate places just wasn't going to happen and given time crunch this put us in a place where we had to eat food with out drinks. It really was a disappointment. However we still ordered there given the food was good. But other then that I think it's a great place to dine in. But if you're for a full meal with a drink for take out. Karvers is a hidden gem in Holbrook that serves exceptional burgers and sandwiches. I came across Karvers on UberEats and we starting routinely taking food out. The food is absolutely amazing, their burgers apps and sandwiches are always fresh and delicious. I've tried almost the entire menu and our favorites are definitely the Mac and cheese, philly cheesteak and their burgers. Excellent service, delicious food and comfortable seat! When my husband and I walked into the restaurant for a lunch, we both felt welcomed and seated on the high elevated booth which my husband really loved! The waitress Cat gave us excellent service throughout. All the foods we ordered were delicious! Cat and few other waters came with a sparkling candle to our table and sang happy birthday song for my husband's 60th birthday! Appetizers of fried artichokes and warm pretzel were really tasty. Thai pizza and short ribs sandwich were a total hit. Plenty of drink options too. Only shortcoming was that I had a reservation and they sat us in the back room right next to a large noisy group. We asked to be seated at one of the two other empty tables a little further back.
