I've done takeout, the bar, and the dining area at Katana and I think it's about a 3/4 across the board. The space is clean and the staff are nice and attentive. The rolls range from average to excellent, but the price is pretty high across the board unfortunately which I don't think necessarily matches the quality of every roll. If you're craving sushi and in the Canton area, this is a great option, but not from a price standpoint. The jalapeño yellow tail is really yummy and the sauce is so good. The miso soup and green salad are a must for me at a sushi place. Their sashimi is also really fresh, and standout rolls for me are the dynamite and the bonfire roll. They also have a really good mango sticky rice with warm rice and ripe mangos. Hits the spot, but your wallet might suffer a little! read more

I got delivery from here so I can't such much for atmosphere or service. I got the three roll combo and it was the affordable amongst the sushi places for delivery. I got the salmon roll, spicy salmon and Alaska roll and the salmon did taste fresh. They didn't skimp on the amount of salmon per rice ratio and it was very filling. Came here in a pinch bc ai was craving some lunch sushi and they have a good lunch special. As a vegetarian, my sushi opinions are limited but their sweet potato roll was excellent. It came out very quickly which was nice for a quick lunch. It's kinda empty most of the time which is sad, I do think it's a cool corner spot. I have been craving sushi and Japanese food for a while. I looked on Uber Eats and this place had a good menu. I liked that they had multiple options including sushi, hibachi, and Chinese fare, so it was easy to find something both my bf and I would like since he isn't a fan of sushi. I ended up ordering crab rangoon, a ninja roll, house fried rice, and hibachi steak with fried rice. The order came quickly and was nicely packed. We were hungry so I didn't take any pictures, but we both enjoyed everything. I enjoyed my Ninja roll; not the best sushi I've had, but solid. We both loved the crab rangoon; they were nicely prepared and not overly greasy. The rice was delicious and my bf loved his steak hibachi (I snagged a bite of steak and some veggies and also thought it was good). Prices are a bit high, but that's probably because of Uber eats. Yeah I had a very unfriendly server that seemed to have a very hard time listening properly. I'd say if you're going to go to this place you should be prepared to eat a very mediocre meal and have a hard time struggling with emo staff that are obviously giving customers a hard time. Especially when you try to order a Oyako Don and your server pretends not to understand what you're saying and then repeat exactly what you just said after you show their stupid ass the item on the menu from your phone. Also this person obviously shouldn't be working in the hospitality industry if they're just at work to get a rise out of random customers walking in just trying to order food. As far as food goes I ordered the Tori sushi and the Oyako Don two very easy Japanese words to say but my server definitely wanted to give me a hard time while I was ordering and then she gave me a weird look when my girlfriend paid the bill for us as if I was being irresponsible or something??? The Oyako Don was very mediocre and bland. I'd rate it a 2.5/5. The sushi was cut very well and had a nice presentation. The problem is that it was not very fresh especially the tuna. That first bite of tuna that I had was very concerning. I mean this restaurant is literally right on the water but they can't get fresh fish out of the kitchen? The county definitely has better options for sushi than the city. I've dined in a few times but this time did take out - what is it about sushi restaurants and disco nightclub decor? The lunch specials are fine - and the rolls are also average except I did like the crunch in the spicy tuna roll. But I like their crab Rangoon's (what's not to love about fried cream cheese - I got mine to go and it was a bit stale but still tasty. The staff is friendly - I always need extra ginger. I ordered the sushi for two that comes with your choice of soup or salad, 16 pieces of assorted sashimi, one 8 piece specialty roll and one 6 piece regular role. (Pictured: specialty hot hot roll and the regular eel roll.) Taste: The sashimi melted in my mouth! The chefs cut the fish nice and thin and did not overwhelm the fish with too much rice. The temperature of the sushi and the roll craftsmanship is an A+. The rolls didn't fall apart when I picked each piece up with my chopsticks. I have passed sushi restaurant for years, but never stopped in to give them a try. One Friday night, after attending a Yelp Elite event at a brewery, I was a tad bit tipsy and was craving some sushi. Perfect time to give Katana a try. I ordered my sushi through Yelp and the order took about 30 minutes to prepare. This restaurant seems super busy, a bunch of people were in and out picking up orders. I'd definitely suggest placing an order prior to driving to the restaurant because of the wait. I tried the Dancing Eel and Valcano Roll. The rolls were really, really good. I'm talking about so good that I devoured them before I even got home. My one issue, the rolls were quite pricey, definitely some of the more expensive rolls that I've ever ordered. Despite the price, I could see myself going back to try more rolls! read more

I'm a lover of all fresh sushi and this place did not miss! We went here for my birthday after not having sushi for a few months. It was soooo good. The fish was very fresh and flavorful. I really liked the way they were displayed on our tray. My husband had the ramen, which I would not recommend. It was kind of flavorless...not what we expected. Our service was fair. Katana is the best place to get sushi in Canton and probably has the best atmosphere until you get to Ra in Harbor East. Parking can be a bit of a pain during dinner hours, so you may want to try parking in the Pancake House parking lot. If that's full, you may end up driving around for a bit because the local residents tend to fill up most of the spots after working hours. Upon entering, the bar is on your right. As you walk straight, you enter the dining room, which expands towards the rear of the restaurant. The decor is modern Japanese, which I quite liked, though the TV in the back corner seemed a little out of place. Since we arrived around 6, we tried one of the happy hour specials: two rolls, a chef's special roll (which was found inside the main menu), and a bottle of sake. The salmon and tuna rolls were tasty and what you'd expect - nothing out of the ordinary - and the dragon roll was a bit smaller than I've seen at other places, however that might have been the "happy hour" size. We also ordered some toro, which was amazing, some fried hamachi, and some mixed tempura. All in all, the food was good, though nothing terribly notable. The service was very good. So I think it's difficult to rate katana with one rating. If I was going to rate them as a Ramen noodle spot, I'd give them five stars. If I'm to rate them as a sushi spot I'd give them three stars. So I'm splitting the difference and giving them four as an overall location. The reason I would give them five stars for Ramen is that they have a great selection with tons of customizable options. Portion sizes are very generous especially to go. And when you get the to go order they give you the noodles separate from the hot broth and vegetable/meat. This allows you to heat up the broth at home if needed after pick up or delivery without overcooking the noodles. This is just an example of the little touches that make them such a great noodle bar. In terms of sushi there's really nothing to say other than they are average. Nothing too amazing and nothing terrible. I personally would not eat sushi here; I would choose to eat Ramen or one of the Japanese entrées, but if you're going to go with sushi nothing is going to be unpalatable. But I really couldn't give any specific recommendations as nothing is really amazing either. Appetizers are great and in particular the tempura is crispy and light. The Gyoza dumplings are a favorite but you can't go wrong with shumai either. read more

The American Dream role was pretty good but the seaweed was very chewy. I have had the ramen in the past and it was good, I remember the spicy being very spicy, FYI . I absolutely LOVE this sushi place! I think they ambiance is beautiful and they were so polite and patient. I went for lunch and I've been to most of the baltimore sushi places and this one had the best price and gave the most food for the bento boxes that they offered. They even went above and beyond and added a really cool orange cut up like sushi in the middle. I was very impressed. It wasn't super busy at the time, but I didn't observe a language barrier or any confusion from them when I had a few questions to ask. So personally I love that the most because that seems to be my biggest issue with most international food places. I'd highly recommend coming to this location if you want a good sushi experience.
