I booked with Kathy Clean to get my home in order before my partner came back from surgery. The cleaner was prompt and respectful, spending about 3.5 hours on my 2/2. I received an email regarding this cleaning a day later, asking for $60 more because the cleaner spent an additional 10 minutes beyond the quote. The email stated that she spent a "considerable" amount of time in the bathrooms, almost insinuating it was so dirty it took longer. My home is not dirty, I maintain a clean place and the reason I called the cleaner is because it's hard to get into the deep cleaning details (dusting, cleaning behind toilets, etc.) which is what most people call the cleaner for. I would not have complained about the job the cleaner did, but several spots were missed in different areas and to come back asking for $60 more and pin it on the extra time taken in a certain area left a very bad taste in my mouth. They didn't even do the dishes in the sink or wash any linens (the quote said 3 linen changes included...don't know if I was supposed to lay them out but the cleaner did not speak English which is fine, I just had no idea). Even still, 10 minutes is not worth $60, especially on a $145 quote for 2.5-3.5 hours. I will shop around again in the future after my follow-up experience. Edit: The owner called me within an hour of this review to apologize and assure me that this is not protocol for the business. The call was prompt, professional and thoughtful. They offered to redo the cleaning for free and I declined as I was not dissatisfied with the job but the aftermath. After having my cleaning lady of 15 years retire, I reached out to Kathy Clean to see if they could clean my home for me. I spoke to Jessica and immediately felt like she respected my needs and wanted to earn my business. I have a long haired dog so not everyone is willing to clean my home. The crew who came to my home was professional, polite and did a thorough and meticulous job! I am not sure my house has been this clean in the 19 years I have lived here. I was assured that if there was anything I was not pleased with, they offered a 48-hour satisfaction guarantee and they would come back and redo the part I was not happy with. Save your money! I hired Kathy Clean for a deep cleaning of a home to be move in ready. All the cupboards were to be cleaned inside and out. Blinds were to be wet wiped, mop boards were to be wet wiped, wood floors were to swept and mopped as well as all tile floors, microwave was greasy and dirty and all light fixtures were to be cleaned as well as all ceiling fans. Floors were only mopped and not swept and they looked awful. Not one light fixture or ceiling fan was wiped. Long story short we spent hours cleaning what I paid them to do. Two people were to have been there for 5-6 hours deep cleaning for $400. I was not able to be there the day they cleaned. Big mistake!! They left a list checked off that all the tasks had been completed. Not! The only thing that looked done was the vacuuming. I feel ripped off by this company! Outrageous!!! read more

I bought a housecleaning from these folks through a well-known online vendor (which will remain anonymous because I don't want to tarnish their good name). When I called to schedule the service, I got an automated message that told me to schedule through their website. I filled out the website form and heard nothing for over a week. Then I got an email from Kathy Harline saying they wouldn't come to my house because it's not in their service area, despite the Groupon stating "south Aurora" is included in their area. I am definitely in south Aurora. Kathy said their service area ends at Hampden. I'm only about 1 mile north of Hampden! Jewell Ave is the center of Aurora and I'm well south of that. After I exchanged a couple of emails with Kathy, in which I politely insisted that I was in south Aurora, and therefore in their service area, I got an email from someone named Greg Harline, who very rudely informed me that they would not come to my house. With customer service like this before anyone even shows up, I can't imagine what sort of abysmal treatment you'd get once they'd actually taken your money. These people are untrustworthy. Whatever you do, don't let them into your house, near your valuables, and especially, around your loved ones. read more

I am a relatively new customer to Kathy Clean and hope to be a long-time satisfied customer. First, everyone I have dealt with wants to do their very best -- from the office staff to the cleaners. They have told me on more than one occasion that they are there to serve me and they certainly mean that. They have worked with me to not only make sure I have the service I want but at a price I can afford. And, they are more than willing to make adjustments as needed. The actual cleaning is also very good and if I am even a bit unsatisfied with something (not very often), they go out of their way to make it right. All my cleans have been good but a big shout-out to Kaitlyn & Beverly who did an absolutely wonderful job on my last clean. read more

I got a flyer and gave to my sister to get their new house cleaned before move in. The flyer sounds so good to bad they don't do anything in it. The cupboards were still dirty outside and inside. They didn't clean off light fixtures ceiling fan. They didn't clean bathrooms. Basement bought a shop vac they decided to just mop over the dirt. They pretty much didn't do anything the only thing you could tell they did was vacuum the carpet which is brand new. This company does not know what deep cleaning is. Save your MONEY....My sister has had to for the next week before move in do all cleaning over again. Feel bad since I told her about this company. read more

I contracted for a "deep clean" and emphasized the reason was that I had two major surgeries in the last year and could not do it on my own. The two women who showed up were 2 hours late (excused by saying that there must have been a mistake in scheduling), and then they did a very poor job of cleaning.....and entirely missed a bedroom and the basement! The rest looked like it had been dusted, but not cleaned. I have taken pictures of the area behind the toilet and on the shelves in the lower bath.....neither were touched! I too received a voucher through a deals website. Before I bought the voucher I called the company to make sure I could use it for what I needed and a man who worked there stated there would be no problems. I called the company and got an answering service that told me they were booked through the New Year and to fill out a request online (this was the middle of December). I filled one out and did not get a call back. I contacted them in the middle of January after one month of not hearing anything asking when I could set something up. The lady (Kathleen) told me that they would clean my house, but it would take my voucher plus $300 to clean out my old condo. I thought that was absurd so I asked if I could use it to clean my current home. She had me fill out another request and told me that it would cost me an extra $100. I have never had to pay extra money to use a voucher that I purchased. What is the point of buying the voucher then? I told her all I wanted to do was use the voucher and there was no fine print or terms and conditions that stated I needed to pay more money. She wrote me back a very unprofessional and mean letter. I will quote what she wrote back. "It is abundantly clear that you do not see the need or value in completing what our company considers a proper and thorough first cleaning of your home. Additionally, you also expected us to do a "move out clean" of your condo in 4 man hours. Again this is not possible. A first cleaning of any home CANNOT be accomplished in the amount of man-hours you have on your voucher. We are not going to degrade the quality of a first cleaning just because a client doesn't want to pay more or can't afford it. " She then wrote: " To continue to waste time and energy on this matter is pointless. We are not interested in working with you as a client. That is our right." How rude! All I wanted was to use my certificate. They take advantage of people and try to make a bunch of money off their clients. I would never work with this company or let them in my house. I would not recommend them either. Obviously if they are using a deal website they are not doing well in their business and should take all the customers they can get. I went out on a limb because of time constraints and hired Kathy Clean to first come in to deep clean all 4 of my bathrooms. They were late but I had to call to find that out. Yes, the bathrooms were much cleaner than they were; I did find things that were missed. I didn't complain, I had them scheduled for a DEEP cleaning that following Monday from 11:30 to 3:30 with 4 people. Keep in mind the house was staged for selling so it was pretty empty and open; very easy to clean. Only two arrived, 15 minutes late, no call, I had to call to find out. One of the girls immediately left to go get the other two and didn't come back for 45 minutes. They all then claimed to be finished and left around 3:10pm. They started late and ended early. They charged me for a total of 18 hours...they were only there maybe if you push it, 15 hours!!! Two girls for 2 hours = 4 hours, One girl for 3.5 hours and three girls for 2.5 hours = 11 hours for a total of 15 hours. I ignored the first two hours but the second go round was too much to accept. Had all 4 employees arrived when they were scheduled to and as committed too there should have been zero reason for not completing the clean and then would warrant the 18 hours I am being charged. I just got off the phone with them and have proof of their lack of deep cleaning and hours spent at my house and all she can do is credit me $40 buck, REALLY! After charging me $550.00, they owe me a refund of at least 3 hours at 30.56 each which is $91.68! So very disappointed. I was so excited because I was going to use them on the house we are moving to but not anymore! read more
