Dr. Gohar has committed fraud by using my credit card without my authorization. She claimed her credit card machine was not on line, and asked for a photo of my card. After I had paid, I asked her if she deleted my credit card from her phone. She said she did, and the next day after it was supposed to be deleted, she charged my card again without my permission. This is FRAUD. In addition this fraudulent behavior, she called me on a Sunday, only hours before I was set to travel to see her to tell me to meet her at her "other" office. She stated she had been there a while. Why not notify me sooner? Because she knows she would have lost not one but two clients that day. When I arrived at this office, which is NOT ON ROXBURY DR., is a run down building in a questionable neighborhood. This location did not have a proper waiting room & receptionist, and a folding table with cheap fake flowers on it. The "make shift room" was bare bones. It was completely unprofessional to say least. In addition to all this, her work and results that have been preferenced in all low scoring reviewsare FACT based on what I experienced too, and reflect the lack of quality work and service. Over the years I started noticing more and more spider veins on my legs and I finally got to the point where I wanted to do something about them. Through a Google search I found out about sclerotherapy and looked up doctors who provided the service on Groupon. I found Dr. Kathy Gohar and her prices were somewhat reasonable. I went two different times to get the sclerotherapy done on my legs but honestly I feel it was a huge waste of $. At first there was improvement but they came back shortly after. I wasted so much $ for nothing and I still have bruising from the injection sights more than half a year later. I also developed new spider veins where I was injected for the previously existing ones. She's a nice lady, so I feel bad leaving this review but I just feel ripped off. read more

Dr. Gohar is the most unprofessional, demeaning, and disrespectful person I have ever met. Considering I work at a major hospital right by her office, I thought it would be a great fit. Boy, was I sorely (literally) mistaken. I will never use Groupon with a clinic again just from the trauma I experienced at this office. Not only did the equipment break, she took care of family members and friends during my scheduled time, but instead of fixing the equipment, she coerced me into pre paying for other treatments that I medically would not benefit from and then refused to honor them after a certain amount of time had passed. She screwed up my vein treatment (photo added) and not only refused to fix it, refund me, but also took the rest of my credits I had for future Groupon vein treatment sessions. If you care about your body and self esteem, do not go to this person. She will also try to sell you her brother's book he published during the pandemic as if you don't spend enough in the visit alone. She even treats her staff horribly, so sad and very disappointing that someone like this can have their license to practice on vulnerable populations that don't know any better. I felt tremendously informed after I left, and most importantly RELAXED + REJUVENATED!!!!! Oh Dr. Gohar what a huge disappointment. I was referred to Dr. Gohar by my fave lash lady and although I was skeptical to go see Dr. Gohar on a whim without taking the time to research her work, I trusted Gina's recommendation and went ahead to the neighboring cosmetic doctor to schedule an appointment and utilize a coupon ($75 off first treatment) Dr. Gohar had given Gina to distribute to her clientele. Well first off, I was surprised to see a young lady waiting for Dr. Gohar when I stepped into the office of Dr. G. Her assistant seemed a little unaware of Dr. Gohar's schedule and availability and left the client waiting for her scheduled services. As soon as Dr. Gohar walked in she beelined straight for me asking me what services I wanted totally neglecting her waiting client. I informed her of the services I was interested in an not only did Dr. Gohar gloss over my concerns, she encouraged me to step into her office to start my procedure of interest, despite my lack of appointment or consideration of the waiting client who I presume had an appointment previously scheduled for this time. I was resistant and fearful and told Dr. Gohar I had not been prepared to receive a treatment that day as I had never even considered the service until that morning. She assured me it would be manageable and convinced me to target multiple areas that I had no interest in working on, as she insisted I would need to target 2 additional areas on top of the 1 I had originally asked for. Well I am clearly a sucker because Dr. Gohar appears sweet and professional so I went with her advice against my better judgement. After the three treatments, I proceeded to the waiting room to pay for the services thinking it couldn't be more than a couple hundred dollars max. Yes, I knew Dr. Gohar had upsold me so inevitably it would cost more but seriously my final bill for a first time client with a $75 coupon was completely unreasonable! To my shock and utter disbelief Dr. Gohar not only upsold me to buy additional services I had no need for but proceeded to tell me after applying the coupon (mind you a coupon generated and distributed by Dr. Gohar) that I would have to pay a credit card fee. Seriously now, a CREDIT CARD FEE!? I have never met a doctor, let alone a doctor in Beverly Hills who charges an additional fee for credit cards! Hello, I thought only cheap nail salons and fast food joints charge added fees for credit cards, not a doctor overcharging for unnecessary services!? That's the moment I knew Dr. Gohar was a scammer. No honest doctor with an ounce of integrity or respect for her clients would slap on a credit card fee of $45+ to a new client without some sort of warning, notification, or signage acknowledging the additional credit card fee. Even the cheapest nail salons in low economic areas display signs and inform customers that the use of credit cards will require an additional fee. No one waits until after you order and hand over your credit card to slap on a upwards of $50 fee. Shady, shady, shady. Sorry Dr. Gohar, I wanted to love you. I wanted to like you and come back and make you my go to doctor, even call you "my doctor" and refer my friends and colleagues to you. However, your drive for more money at the expensive of good, honest customer service is unacceptable and I am afraid I will continue to have to look for "the one" aka a genuine doctor who sincerely cares for her patients and their satisfaction more than she cares to make a quick buck. Dr. Gohar, what you did was wrong. Please do something about it and restore my faith in honest medical providers driven by their desire to improve others not their desire to in debt others for personal profit. read more

This place is a disaster. I made an appointment on Lifebooker for an IPL photo facial. Cut to 1.5 weeks later, I've been rescheduled 3 times. I complained to the receptionist and told him to cancel my appointment. Shortly after I got a call from Dr. Gohar apologizing profusely, and I really appreciated that gesture... Appointment back on! I get to my appointment scheduled for 6:00 p.m. about 10 til. Low and behold, the Dr. isn't in yet. Let's just say I wasn't seen until about 7 p.m. My IPL was less than average. I think she put it at the lowest setting so patients have to keep going back over and over, and over... and over. From my experience, IPL's can work great when cranked.... This was not that time. Instead I was up sold on bleaching creams and Fraxel Laser treatments, all of which I declined. She left me in the exam room for about 10 minutes while she chit chatted in the waiting room with waiting clients. Mind you I still have metal goggles strapped to my face so I can't see, and the IPL gel still slathered on my face (which was then starting to dry). I couldn't escape soon enough. Instead of this being a value, it was a total waste of time and money. I canceled the second appointment, and won't be back. The bright side is that Dr. Gohar seems very nice, and her place is clean and well kept. She gave me a bunch of little samples, and referral gift cards to hand out. read more

I brought a discount coupon from Beverly Hills Medi Spa for photo facial. Due to my skin condition I was not able to use my coupon before it expired. Since they would not extend the date I decided to let my husband use the service instead. I had photo facials before so I knew what to expect. I knew what the result of the process was supposed to be. We met Dr. Gohar. I asked her whether she should put some numbing cream on him first to ease any discomfort or pain since this is his first time, she said that would not be necessary. She told me I could join them in the room. During the entire process, Dr Gohar, was talking, trying to up-sell BOTH my husband and I, more services than what we came for. My husband told me afterwards it didn't hurt at all, hardly any sensation. No wonder. She used a very low setting, therefore generated no results at all, hoping that we would go back for more. He never got red, never had any of the after effects that I experienced with photofacials. I took him to my aethetician immediately to show her the result of his so call "photofacial", she confirmed .... it was a total waste of our money. We came away with the impression that she was not the type of doctor who has her patient's interest at heart. So needless to say, we will not be back. read more

I'm re-editing my review of Dr. Gohar. Here's the thing: I am very happy with my botox results. But I didn't find the experience entirely positive. Pros: she did a really good job at placing the desired amount of botox for the desired effect that I wanted, which was a lower number of units than what she wanted to do however I was clear that I wanted to be relaxed and not frozen. This was achieved and I'm happy with the results. If you are researching her for this procedure you can rest assured that she is skilled. Cons: I did not like how she approached me. I did not like that she did not say, first and foremost: what are you concerned about in your face? How can I help you? What is it that you are looking to achieve. She asked if I was there for botox, I said yes: forehead. She asked me to sit in her treatment chair and hold a mirror so she could evaluate my face/skin. I felt this was more akin to telling me all the things wrong with my face that I could fix. I thought I was clear that I wanted a small amount of botox in order to relax forehead muscles, not freeze. I did not like how she approached me and unfortunately I find this with a lot of doctors here in LA. There is a real arrogance at times that they know the absolute one answer and that there way is BEST. When the fact is, there are many answers AND there are many of us patients who know our bodies and skin very well and it would be nice if doctors approached patients as if they were working together with us: a team effort. But i digress. Dr. Gohar did a good job in the end. I just didn't entirely enjoy how she spoke to me. read more

I bought an IPL session on groupon for my husband and myself. My husband has gotten IPL done twice from his dermatologist and I got it done once from another groupon purchase in Encino. With my first IPL experience in encino, the doctor and his assistant were very thorough. They applied numbing cream on my face and blew cold air to lessen the pain. It hurt a bit but was bearable. The doctor went over my face a few times. Immediately after the session, my face felt slightly sunburnt. And within hours, I could see the "coffee grounds" appearing. Everything that was supposed to happen happened. So now to Kathy Gobar's IPL session... Kathy did not do the IPL. Her assistant did. No numbing cream was used. But then again, the assistant did it at such a low setting that I probably wouldn't have needed it. She only hit a few spots on my face and did not go over my whole face. My face looks EXACTLY the same as before. There is no evidence that I got any IPL done on my face. My husband also felt like his IPL session was weak. It was honestly a waste of my money and time. On another note, Kathy and her assistant are really nice. Kathy did spend most of her time trying to sell us her other services but I expected that. I just wish they did a better job on my IPL. It's been 36 hours since I got it done and I see absolutely no difference. **i wouldn't buy an IPL groupon from them again. It's just not worth the money. read more

Another update! I had a laser procedure on my face done by Dr. Gohar called Fraxel. My face has changed 100%. My old skin has shed and new skin has resurfaced and it looks so amazing. Dr. Gohar's bedside manner is so amazing, while she was doing this she kept making sure I was okay and not in pain (there was no pain, she made sure my face was numb completely before doing the procedure). I have been complimented on my face many times. One of my clients at work even told me "I used to feel so bad for you before! Now your face looks so amazing!" I found Dr. Gohar through one of those online coupon deals. I thought I had only purchased an IPL treatment because the price was so great. I was surprised by a relaxing and gentle facial cleansing and hydration treatment by Annette prior to the IPL. While in Annette and Dr. Gohar's care, I felt like my skin was assessed honestly and that unlike many places, they explained the different treatments available for my stress related acne and the pros and cons of each. Dr. Gohar and Annette were both kind and pleasant to be around and I even left with a couple free gifts and several gift certificates for reduced price treatments in the future. IPL treatments do not feel good when you're getting them, but the results I received at this office were noticeable within a couple hours and I am looking forward to seeing them again. read more

I called her office and Dakota answered the phone and was so professional and welcoming, they managed to get an appointment for me in the same week! When I went to the office for my first visit, not only was it so clean and beautiful, I was welcomed by Dr. Gohar and Dakota. How many times have you gone to a laser / cosmetic surgery center where the doctor spends more than 15 min with you?? Dr Gohar, MD actually did the entire IPL procedure on me by herself!!! That is not including the time and care her assistant spent with me!! Dr Gohar's expertise, nurturing manner and the expensive (real) laser machines are not the only reason why my IPL experience far exceeded compared to my other laser experiences!!!
