Beautifully crafted restaurant with deep reds and sparkling gold

I kept hearing rumblings about this restaurant and so I definitely had to make it a point to stop by and try it out. When you into the restaurant, you're automatically greeted by a friendly host. They took our name and number down, and we were automatically seated at our table. The ambience of the restaurant is beautiful. It's a deep red color with gold accent throughout. Greenery from the trees that are scattered about the restaurant and they have a beautifully featured bar. I got the mango tango tequila cocktail and it was very sweet and very delicious. My husband got the Thai iced tea and it was sweet, but it could've been a little sweeter. We ordered the yellow curry and the MasterChef pad Thai, which includes shrimp, pork and tofu. The dishes came out immediately. You do not have to wait at this restaurant for your food to come out because they are on it immediately in the kitchen where you can see the cooks and chef cooking rigorously in their woks. The grilled chicken curry, which is a yellow curry, tasted like a traditional yellow curry. The chicken thigh meat that was in the curry was super tender, super flavorful, and the curry had a nice kick to it. The pad Thai was delightful, fragrant, and kept you wanting to eat more and more. I highly recommend coming here whether you're at the mall doing some shopping, brunch with the girls or if you wanna do a date night.

Had to support Taiwan and pay a visit to Very Thai. The flavors are there and the Shrimp Toast was an interesting take on Fried Shrimp Paste. I thought the toast added an interesting texture. The Plum Sauce complemented the dish. The Pad Thai was solid but I did not care for the Tofu at all. It definitely needed condiments to jazz it up. I thought the quality was there and there is a premium ambiance and price for this Thai Establishment. Service was impeccable and really enjoyed the recommendations. The Lemon Grass Sauce is a must!

I've heard about this supposedly highly popular Thai restaurant from Taiwan (this will further confuse some people regarding Taiwan vs Thailand. LOL). I decided to check it out since I was at Westfield Century City. The ambiance here is modern with moderate level of music playing in the background. The menu prices are slightly higher than a typical Thai restaurant; but, that's to be expected given the location. The portions were also on the smaller side. We tried one of the signature dishes, Coffee Ribs. The pork ribs were falling off the bone tender. The flavor was also interesting. Sweet and sour with a noticeable among of coffee flavor. The shrimp moon cake sounded more interesting than it actually was. It was basically shrimp toast; but sandwiched between 2 sheets of crispy egg roll wrappers instead of toast. The shrimps in the shrimp clay pot with vermicelli were fresh and cooked just right; but, the vermicelli was so salty I cringed with my first bite. The shrimps also felt completely separate from the vermicelli. The shrimps were not cooked in the sauce at all and vermicelli had no hint of the shrimp flavor. The green curry with chicken was flavorful albeit not what I was expecting. The coconut and basil flavors is usually what differentiate green curry from yellow or red curry; in this dish they were a bit lacking. The mala numbness was also a part of the spiciness; a little unusual for this dish. This may be an option if you are tired of Ding Tai Fung.

We visited Very Thai in the mall during lunch hour. We ordered two dishes to share. Both quite tasty. A little heat in both at first but we enjoyed them very much. Service staff were friendly and attentive. Ambiance bright and airy with a view of the kitchen.

Very Thai is a new Thai chain restaurant from Taiwan (yes you heard that right - Taiwan not Thailand). The restaurant recently opened in March 2026 and is located on the 2nd floor (across from Zinqué and diagonally across from Chagee) of Westfield Century City. This is the first U.S. location for Very Thai and it is also one of the few Thai restaurants in Southern California that offers a full bar experience. [Parking]: The Westfield Century City parking garage is the only option. The first hour is free. From 1 hour to 1.25 hour = $4, from 1.25 hour to 5 hours = $1 for each additional 15 minutes. [Atmosphere]: Excellent ambiance and a great place for date night. This is one of those places that asks diners what type of water they want. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are Papaya Salad, Master Chef Pad Thai, and Shrimp Mooncake. Items marked with a star on the menu = chef-recommended dishes. Extra $3 per bowl for Jasmine Rice and $4 for a piece of roti. Most items on the menu are meant to be shared. They also offer 100% plant-based ice cream from AWAN for $8 or $9 and sparkling oolong tea (regular or sugar-free) for $13. *** Master Chef Pad Thai (Pad Thai stir-fried with shrimp, pork, tofu in house sauce - $25): The Pad Thai actually arrived before our appetizer. It was slightly spicy but still within a tolerable level. Good flavor profile, but you can find Pad Thai taste just as good as this version but much less expensive Green Curry Wings (chicken wings, fried with eggplant, green curry and basil. 5 pieces. $18): An interesting dish. This appetizer had a high eggplant-to-wing ratio. I thought it tasted alright as it had too many flakes. *** 3.5-star on food quality, but knock down to 3-star due to the hefty price tag. P.S. - At the end of the meal, the check came with a free postcard with a picture of a giant pineapple for customers to take home.

Grilled Pork Jowl with herbs and Thai chili dipping sauce

Ambiance and service first, both were great. You never know what to expect with restaurants (albeit highly rated) located in shopping malls, and Very Thai did not disappoint. Excellent vibes, efficient and friendly service. Now, what we ordered and in NO particular order: 1. Shrimp mooncake with plum sauce 2. Eggplant with herbs 3. Grilled pork jowl (WOW, clear winner) 4. Master Chef Pad Thai. Now, let's start with the winner, the grilled pork jowl. I mean, I wasn't quite clear what a jowl was but I now know I LOVE it! Paired with a grilled pineapple that went untouched simply because it wasn't even missed - the onions and the pork jowl are a bite in a heaven. The bold but familiar flavor of the pork jowl truly left my jaw dropped. The eggplant was probably our number 2. Pro tip: Definitely pair this richly flavored dish with a bowl of rice to get the perfect balance. I NEED to talk about the Master Chef Pad Thai. First, I was hesitant because I've seen some low reviews hating on this particular dish. On this day we went, we loved it. 4, juice shrimp accompany the perfectly cooked noodles. There's a bit of a smoky flavor that comes from the Taiwanese sausage and this was such a welcoming surprise in my mouth. Overall, is it pricier than some local alternatives - yes, but it's also conveniently located steps away from premier shops so it's a win win!

The decor is nice and my waiter was pleasant but the food was average and overpriced. Really no veggie options so basically just meat and carbs over a bed of onions. Good portions for two people but not three.

Really solid Thai food on the Westside albeit pricey but you'd expect that at the Century City Mall. Went when it had just opened for about a week so it was pretty packed and we waited quite a bit for a table (over an hour). Some confusion as we didn't actually get called back for it, we checked back with the hostess and almost left but they were able to seat us. The servers and staff are super nice and friendly. The waiter recommended that we order 4 dishes for 2 people but honestly with the portion sizes we could have even done 2-3. We ordered the master pad thai, papaya salad, eggplant and coffee ribs. The pad thai and papaya salad were the big winners, super flavorful and really tasty. I always know Thai cuisine is solid by their pad thai and this one is really great. Papaya salad also can pack a kick so make sure you go for a low spice level if you can't handle the heat. The coffee ribs are definitely the odd menu item which I wouldn't order again. I'd expect these to taste more like a mole but it was oddly sweet like a dessert. And the coconut shavings on it made it also a bit sweeter as well. Also, a bit pricey for Thai food - at $75 a person for 4 dishes shared is quite a lot.

Food was good! They all had good sauces. Our favorite was the grilled pork jowl with lime sauce. Food came really quickly. Good music and chic decor. Knocking a star for the Century City dollar tag. We spent 60 per person without leaving stuffed.

We just came when it out. The food was pretty good and not too spicy. Even though it's a Thai restaurant it's a Thai restaurant chain from Taiwan so there was even more Chinese influence. The ribs were delicious and the green curry we got was good. There wasn't a slight wait when we went and this was during its initial opening. Service was alright we had to flag our waiter a few times for either water or if we wanted to add a few items. But worth checking out a time. The decor is nice and could make for a good date night, it was mostly group of friends or families when I went though

My husband and I were monitoring this restaurant and was able to get reservations when they finally opened their doors. First, the space is beautiful. They did a great job with decor. They have a really nice bar area too for those that want to snack and grab a drink. Staff was pleasant and tried their best to give us what we asked for. But would we return? Probably not. We understand it is "family style" but the portions are absolutely not family style portions. It's very small and very pricey. It's more accurate to say it's like tapas. You order a bunch of dishes and share it and maybe you will be full. The flavors were fine, the only outstanding dish was the shrimp mooncake. Everything else was just okay. I've definitely had better at more traditional Thai restaurants. I ordered Thai spicy, but it was very mild. The pacing was also just bizarre. They come out as it's ready, but the gaps were too large at times. I figure it was freshly opened so I can't fault them for that. But the veggies we ordered, we had no idea if they were forgotten or on their way out, but since we finished our entrees, there was no point in keeping that order so we canceled it. The part that was strange to me was when we asked for prik nam som or prik nam pla or chili sauce, they were confused as to what I was asking for. I got a squeeze bottle that had a lime sauce in it with a Thai chili pepper inside. These sauce carousels are a staple in Thai restaurants. How do you not have them? So when I later read that they are a Taiwan based restaurant, I realized it's not authentic Thai, hence the confusion I guess. So if you're looking more for ambiance, this is probably for you.

3.8 stars. While the dishes are flavorful the portion sizes are small. Think Bacari Tapas but even some dishes are smaller. My favorite was the pork jowl and Fried Rice. Vermicelli clay pot was flavorful too but on the more savory side.

Came here for dinner here at Very Thai in the Century City Mall. From what the team is telling me they've been open for about 2 weeks now. The place is really packed and popular. I was a walk-in and I sat at the bar. There's so many different things that looked amazing and couldn't really decided what to get. I ended up deciding on getting the pork jowl and the pad Thai. Everyone was really friendly and nice. The food tasted amazing. The dishes come out when they're ready so and it's great to be able to order a couple of dishes and eat along the way. The kind of came across a snafu where one of my dishes came out kind of slow but the team was very helpful and accommodating. The restaurant is fairly big. Lots of tables everywhere and it's a cool chill vibe here in the mall. I can't wait to come back the next time I'm in town. There's still so many different things I want to try next time.

The regular menu is quite expensive with the cheapest at $17 for appetizer and salad options and most expensive at a whooping $80. The waitress was taking our orders and what surprised me was with my co-worker ordered the pad see ew and the waitress asked her how spicy she wants it. I was aw shocked. I'm not a Thai food expert but I do know pad see ew is a noodles dish that's offers a sweet soy sauce flavor. Never served spicy. I didn't get to try the dish but when I asked my co worker how it taste she said it was spicy and not sweet at all. I'm not sure that was an authentic pad see ew. I ordered from the lunch menu and got the tumeric chicken, with steamed vegetables and paid extra $7 to substitute for a papaya salad. I asked for #2 spice level but it was not spicy at all. Other co workers said they asked for medium but it was way too spicy. So it looks like their spicy levels are inconsistent. I'm not sure how this restaurant can justify the prices with the quality they are serving. Probably won't be back. Service was mediocre. Didn't offer to refill our waters. I have written at least 2 glowing reviews of the restaurant in the past and wish this could be one of them, but it's not. Over the last 4-5 days I have tried no less than 2 dozen times to call the restaurant during proper business hours to order food for pick-up as I often do. The phone rang and rang to no avail. I live too far from the restaurant to just pop up and place an order so I rely on calling ahead. I have been a customer of this restaurant for at least the last 9 years and have almost never had the aforementioned experience. Though I do recall not being able to get a call through several times on one or two occasions in the relatively distant past. Today I was finally able to get a call through and began placing my order which includes shrimp. I ALWAYS request the tail (with shells) to be removed from the shrimp as I find it quite difficult to enjoy my meal if I'm constantly having to pick off shells with my hands. It's unsanitary and messy. Removing the tails from 15-20 shrimp prior to adding to an entree or soup should take no more than 60 seconds and that's if one is moving at a glacial pace. However, today I was told that the kitchen was too busy to honor my request. I assured the lady taking my order than I was a loyal customer and make this request will every order I place and it is always honored. She repeated her claim that the kitchen was too busy and refused to do it. I cancelled my order and ended the call. Now I usually order food from the restaurant 4-5 times a month and usually spend about $65 each time not including tip. That is approximately $325 per month of my hard earned money that I give to this restaurant in exchange for great food and service. I am appalled and quite upset that having been a loyal customer for almost a decade and spending as much money there as I do per month that they could at least honor my patronage by simply taking an additional 60 seconds in the kitchen to make my meal more enjoyable. Her refusal to do such a minuscule task has deeply soured my experience with Hoy-Ka not to mention the fact that I could not reach the restaurant for almost a week by phone for no apparent reason. I will not be going back to this restaurant until they rectify this situation.

Each time I've come the waitstaff has been super friendly, and the food amazing. So, when planning a little birthday lunch for my mom's 81st birthday, this was one of the first places I thought of. My mom lives in south LA and we live in the valley, so after picking her up, we wouldn't have to travel far to eat. Although we planned to arrive to the restaurant at 2, traffic was horrible and we arrived at 230pm. After looking for parking, I dropped the fam off at 2:40 so they could sit and look at the menu while I found parking. I get a text from my husband saying they closed at 3 so hurry. This was news to me, as I thought they closed at 5. I found parking and rushed in at 2:48, to see my family outside the restaurant. Perplexed, I went in to ask if we could still eat, as it wasn't yet 3pm. No wait staff came to the front to greet me, so I walked in a bit and asked the waiter if it was okay to eat. The waiter said we close in ten. I said I thought the website said you closed at 5. I must have read it wrong. I understand, but it's not 3 and we came a bit of a distance and it's my mom's 81st birthday. The waiter, whose name is Jack, offered to ask the kitchen if they would still make food. I said yes please would you ask? While Jack was asking, another waiter asked me if I had been helped. I told him yes, that Jack was asking the kitchen if we could still have lunch. This waiter says, we're closing in 10. I'd like to have lunch too. And walks away. Yes, with shade. Jack returns and says it's fine as long as we can order within a few minutes of getting the menu. I say great and we all come in. The 2nd waiter takes our order with the least amount of personality he possibly can, and the whole lunch is slightly awkward and we're not able to truly enjoy ourselves with the feeling of "we better hurry up and eat" lingering. By the time we ordered and received our food (which was delicious as usual) , there were still 4 other groups of customers there, and we actually left the restaurant within a minute or two after the last customers before us. Also, no one came around to ask how our food was and if we needed anything. I'm giving 3 stars because this experience didn't quite sit right with me. Yes, it was near closing, but your doors weren't closed and there was no sign saying last call/order at 2:45 or anything like that. I feel like once the kitchen approved making our lunch, customer service should have been at its peak for paying customers, who gave no attitude and tried to be as polite with the ask as possible. It was not. I still tipped 25%, because Jack (waiter 1) was polite and my 81 old mama who I was celebrating raised me that way, but I'm not sure I'll patronize them again.

NOW FLASH BACK TO HERE. i to echo park only seeking dessert and my friend SHOVED ME over to this tiny cute little establishment. little did i know my upcoming flavor explosion. the sticky rice was WARM, coconutty, sweet and absolutely melted in your mouth while still holding firm, not necessarily mushy. i almost shed a tear. it was STEAMING. and the condensed milk drizzled on top went above and beyond... it was definitely coconut that added just another level of tropical warmth ugh. and those MANGOS??? GIRL ITS APRIL, NOT SUMMER??? yet they were the sweetest, softest, most decadent mangos on planet earth. with that bit of mint, every bite had me in ecstasy... and a food coma. THIS is mango sticky rice. and i WILL be back. also, tell me why i just sat down next to Ian from Smosh. that man's been loving thai food since youtube's inception... and obviously he has impeccable taste *fangirls*

Came here for a quick bite before a walk around the lake with a friend I haven't seen in a couple years. I loved our server and overall experience here I appreciated. In terms of food, the panang curry was more watery than I had expected. It had a lot of nice vegetables and a big serving of rice on the side. I thought the flavors were there but it could have definitely been turned up a little more, but wasn't bad for something quick. My friend got the satay and this was more my style. I love a good char and meat on a stick and this satisfied my craving.

However, as we were wrapping our dinner, all the tables were filled and we felt a bit of a push to hurry up to pay and leave. The waiter didn't say anything to push us to leave, but when you see them giving you the bill before you could finish your food or ask for it, you feel a bit pressured to eat faster. The three of us opted for family style and ordered four entrees and a side of white rice to share. We ordered the stir fried crispy catfish, the sautéed morning glory, the shrimp salad, and the pad kee mao with chicken. The total came out to be about $33.28 per person including tax and 20% tip. I think that's very reasonably priced. We also did not have to wait long at all for our food, which we were so pleasantly surprised. This is definitely a place to go if you want good Thai food and have a short meal break. We ordered and finished our food in less than an hour. We parked a few blocks away in the neighborhood. The parking situation in that plaza was a nightmare. There were cars honking and almost hitting the cars in the front or in the back. I don't live anywhere near Hollywood, but if I do come to see a show at the Pantages Theater in the future, I'll make sure to swing by again.

Ruen Pair is a staple if you live in Thai Town, but it's been a while for me, so I had to remind myself why this place always stood out to me personally. It's their jerky! The pork neck (I think neck?) jerky is something so good you might just slap yourself for never having tried something like it before. It's that damned good. You'll likely enjoy whatever you order, but please make sure at least one is that.
