This place was amazing! My Husband and I got the crab cake and Li-Hing Mui/ Lemon Ginger chicken plates, both were delicious and everything is fresh made to order! We also topped off our order with six of their Malapasadas which are made fresh and are just so fluffy with the perfect amount of sugar dusting!!! so happy to have found this place we are full and happy and about to hike these Waimea Canyon!

Plain malasadas with sugar

Seriously amazing! Came here for malasadas and got a bahn mi. They were a highlight on our trip and will definitely be back. We had some filled malasadas - plum and coconut. Coconut was a fave! Super friendly service and everything was made to order. Highly recommend that you check it out!!! Sat outside to eat - picnic tables.

Malasadas-2 of each flavor (vanilla, coconut & chocolate)

Best malasadas in Kauai-crispy outside, soft inside, and served by the friendliest staff!

Delicious, HUGE bite-sized malasadas, $5 bowls of roast pork in house gravy and lemon ginger chicken, and the kindest and most genuine service we experienced on Kauai. They truly care about what they do and that's reflected in their food. Ordering at the counter was quick and straightforward and we got our food fresh, right away! They also have the cutest resident kittens outside by the covered picnic tables. This is a worthwhile stop in Hanapepe that I sincerely hope will succeed and grow! Tip: check their Facebook for latest specials, farmers market appearances, and updates.

Stumbled upon this place in Hanapepe and so glad we did. These were smaller malasadas, freshly fried right in front of you. Only $1! We tried the sugar ones and they were amazing! Will definitely go back when we're in the area again.

Food was very good. Got the spicy chicken mini plate and it was delicious. Also very affordable and definitely worth it.

Really good customer service, everything we ordered tasted great!! Finished the lemongrass chicken already before remembering to take a photo.

Great friendly service. Good portions and delicious food that you can actually taste the care that went into it. A must visit!

Best malasadas ever!

OMG. Best malasada ever! Even better than Le******! So ono and bite-sized, so crunchy in every bite. They are at the end of Hanapepe Road so you have to keep walking. We went on a Sunday and almost turned around before reaching their shop because we thought everything was closed. So glad we kept going. It's a cute hole in the wall. Everything is made to order so requires patience. But so worth the wait. We also had roast pork bowl. $5! Pork had just the right ratio of fat to meat and the gravy was real! Not packaged. So good. Bonus: The owners are a cute couple. Super friendly. Check them out. You'll be glad you did.

Definitely stop by if you're looking for delicious local bakeries/restaurants. Service was lovely, food was exquisite, and outdoor seating was very charming. I didn't take any photos of the food because everything was gone before I remembered to even pull out my phone (and if that doesn't say the food's delicious, I don't know what does). Must-try: stuffed melasadas w/cinnamon sugar. Can't go wrong with any flavor (my personal faves were Custard and Haupia). Genuinely the best ones I've had on the island!

This place has absolutely delicious food. Traditional Hawaiian grinds at the best value. A 1 item plate lunch was 10 bucks, and it came with a generous portion of roast pork on top of rice, and mac salad. All for just ten dollars. We also got a couple of Malasadas and they were only a dollar each, 1.75 if you wanted one with filling. The owner of the place can't of and spoke with us, and even gave us 2 chocolate croissants, that she made by hand that morning. Those croissants were up there eur the best I've ever had. If you're in Hanapepe, this place has to be at the top of your list.

Great food at a reasonable price. No inside dinning, but there a few picnic tables with umbrellas outside. Nice to support local businesses.

Best. Malasadas. Ever. Fried to order, filled if that's your jam and perfectly bite-sized. Absolutely worth a try.

Amazing Malasadas! Best on the island - made to order. Definitely needed all the napkins that were provided but well worth the "mess".

The sammich just didn't pack the level of flavor that one would expect. It came with a side of fries, which were actually not bad and pretty tasty. They were a little on the oily side but honestly, I wasn't even mad at that since I needed some flavor to come from somewhere. Food aside, the vibe of this place was definitely off. The person taking our order did not seem the be the friendliest person and came off rather stand-offish. Lastly, buyers beware. If you let it be known that you will be splitting a food item, they will charge you an additional $2.50. Typically, when places do this, it comes with a larger portion for each split of the dish, but this was not the case for us. They took the normal portion, charged as the additional fee, and have us no extra food. 2/5 and would not come back.

In town for the day simply to show me an investment property my family and I might be interested in the very near future, before she departed she had to pick up an order of pies to bring back to her family. Of course, I came along for the ride because I liked pie, but I was curious how good they were if she was willing to fly several of them in her carry-on. Founded by Sandy in October 2009, she quickly adjusted her business model from doing six community events a week to her first retail location in Lihue in 2011. The business continued to grow that led to a second location this time in Kalaheo in 2014. Fast-forward to today, the Kalaheo store is the only one standing, and she has cultivated a strong following both near and far of pie fans and the continued support of the local community. Did I choose the right slice for my first time here!? PURCHASE(S) Mango Lilikoi Pie Slice ($8.50): Their most popular pie, they had me at mango! Filled with plump juicy mangoes combined with the just right amount of lilikoi (passionfruit) and topped with a sugar crust. Juicy sweetness burst in every bite, and I was in pure heaven! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=120&select=-IUMWv6HB5wpv9AiQ-Y_bg Macadamia Nut Pie Slice ($8.50): This time, they had me at macadamia! Made with a ton of island macadamia nuts, roasted to a perfect golden brown combined with butter, eggs, sugar, and fresh spices for a nutty tropical sensation, this pie reminded me of a pecan pie but so much better! It was heavy, thick, and required a cold glass of milk to perfectly pair it with. I went nuts for this pie! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=120&select=JfthjT1sMLgeXqbfMPGzhA To-Go Containers ($0.50 x2): For my dessert, I've never been charged this before, but I understood businesses needed to cut/pass along costs as much as possible - c'est la vie. Credit Card Surcharge 3.00% ($0.57): Another pass-along fee that has become more prevalent - oh well. SERVICE I was warmly greeted by a young woman behind the counter who gave me time to review the menu while she offered recommendations. Once I ordered, my items were quickly packed and ready to go - mahalo! OVERALL The Right Slice offered magical pies both savory and sweet (I must return to try a savory one!) all made from scratch and with a ton of love. The care and pride was tasted in each incredible bite, and I wished I had one to bring back with me after I ate each slice back at the resort. Everything tasted phenomenal, the prices may've been a tad high (but well worth it!), and the service was calming and straightforward. Plus, I always loved to try and support small local mom & pop businesses. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $19.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS
