This place has gone downhill. Save your money. I know the economy has gone up, which I am okay with paying $2 per play (2 tokens). But some of the machines are $4-$8 per play. Not only that, they took a lot of the machines that has stuff animals and put labubus, snacks, and other prizes that cost $10 or more to play. Personally I don't care about the labubus, snacks, and figurines prizes. Bring back the low to medium prizes stuff animals and charge 2 tokens to play. Last time I was there I spent $20 and I didn't get a single prize. Back when they still use tokens, I'd win 3-4 stuff animals with $20. Kawaii Klaws inside Haven City is a fun place for children and adults. They have several claw games with cute stuffed animals that you can trade up for larger prizes. It definitely can get expensive but can be loads of fun, too. The kids enjoyed it so much and walked away with a handful of stuffies. Only downside was it was very warm inside Haven City Market, especially where Kawaii Klaws is located. We didn't stay very long due to the warm environment. read more

Loved the old way to play the machines with tokens. The plastic cards suck because you have to tap the cards and if the machines reads it incorrectly well sucks for you. Some of the kids were over tapping other machines you would tap with the plastic card and nothing would happen then you are over tapping. Sucks they get your money faster without even playing. Kawaii is one of my favorite arcades to play at whenever I'm in the area. Good win rates and a solid variety of plushies and prizes. Plushies range from random cute stuffies (generic teddy bears) to character ones (Sanrio, Baby Shark, Kirby). While the toys aren't official merch they're still great quality and aren't poor knockoffs. Another thing I've noticed is more machines carrying collectible prizes like Pokemon TCG packs, gacha boxes, and figurines (Smiski). They cost more per play versus the plush toys ones ($3 vs $1). read more

I understand the claws are rigged to win whenever they feel like winning but rigging the charging system by charging 7.8 per game so that the total amount we pay out of pocket for gaming points ends up with a balance of 7.6 in my case so that I am either forced to buy more or lose about a dollar every time? This place is located in the expanded part of the New Haven Market and I am here for it! It was such a fun family experience. I checked in on Yelp to get 2 free tokens. We played both and got the small Doraemon plush and of course we had to get more to get another plushy. The second plush we got was Lotso Bear with bat wings. Both plushies were mini and so cute! Both our kids had so much fun and loves their plushies! Both plushies also came with the little cup suction so you can hang them on glass surfaces. Was excited to take my kids here but was really turned off that it wasn't tokens and instead used a play card system. Majority of the machines were 7.8 pts per play and $22 (play card costs an addition $2 if it's your first time here) gets you 140 pts. So $20 will get you about 17-18 plays. Their plushes were ok. They didn't have any licensed ones like HK or Pokemon which was a bummer. But there were so many plays where we got a good grab and as the claw brought it up to drop it into the chute, the claw would shake the grip just enough where it dropped it on its way back and right on the edge and bounce off the top of the barrier and back inside. This happened multiple times and was very frustrating. All in all, spent $27 and came out with 3 prizes and not without some luck rather than skill/good positioning. Not a fan of the card system. $20 in tokens would have probably gotten me 20 plays and no additional $2 fee for a new card. If you ask me, if the machines didn't feel "rigged" I would feel more inclined to go back often and spend my money there. But it's a real turn off seeing all your good grabs fall out of the claw after it's been picked up. Staff was nice. No problems with them. read more

Man, what a disappointment. My daughter's been wanting to come here for some time and we finally decided to go today. Half the machines were empty or had 3-4 stuffed animals in them, and most of the "bigger ticket" machines with the Labubus and such were unplayable because the box had fallen out of the parameters of the claw so you couldn't even try for them. My daughter tried one of the Labubu machines where it was within reach, but the claw malfunctioned and didn't fully go down. I went to customer service to let them know and get my credits back, which they said they did, but come to find out on the next swipe they hadn't actually credited me back for the defective machine. I FULLY understand claw machines are not guaranteed and it's heavily in the house's favor, but these machines were a joke. The claws were great in the sense that it would always pick something up, but the machines were built to jerk and shake the claw as it goes up to guarantee the prize falls out. Everyone was mentioning it. There's a difference between having the skill to pick out the right prize and then have the claw grab it properly, and grabbing it and praying that the machine doesn't jerk and shake it out of its grasp. My daughter was really disappointed at the end because she took the time to line up the claw and get it grabbed properly, but the machine made sure to shake it loose before it dropped into the winning receptacle every single time. We easily would have had 5-6 prizes if it wasn't for these deceptive tactics. Even she said she didn't want to come back. Bummer. read more

This claw machine is located in the haven city market in some corner. I'm a claw machine addict and can say that the claw strengths on this one is far weaker than many of the other claw machine spots. You can easily grab the toys but they will decide to drop itself inches before the drop off. It seems more like the traditional claw machines where they have a payout over a certain amount of tries. It's definitely not impossible but chances of winning here are harder IMO. When I looked around no one had any toys which was a bummer. Probably my last time at least at this location, the West Covina Location was a bit better. They do give 2 coins for yelp checkin and also for yelp reviews which is cool since you don't have to spend anything to receive two free tries. read more

WOW... what a fun place to be after a tasty meal! They have a whole slew of machines with cute and adorable stuffy and plushy toys. They have a huge wall full of more stuffy and plushy toys, but these are not for grabs... they are for decorations only... so please don't touch LOL. It takes patience and precision to be an expert at klawing. Please don't get discouraged if you don't get them in the first few tries. It will be easier as you get more practice. You'll be good at it in no time. You may buy a certain number of tokens for a specific price. The more you buy, the more you save. At the end of the day, you either get really good or lucky and klaw lots of toys up and over or not so lucky and bust with no toys. Most importantly, just have fun responsibly. This is in the back side of Haven City Market. Each try is $1, but the more you buy the more you save. The machine like any other Asian claw machine, the claw is loose and it opens and it swings and drops the toy. The staff was somewhat friendly, you are able to collect X amount of toys and trade them in or something over the counter. I used to love coming here with my daughter almost every Sunday! However, this past weekend I noticed they changed half of the other machines to a card system and it costs 7 points per try. Each point/token costs about $1 each if you're not using a coupon so $7 a try it's pretty expensive if you ask me. It used to be $1 per try. I do understand that there are people who are good and will win a lot but $7 per try seems pretty expensive to me. So many machines and most of them have claws that work! When I say that they work, I mean the claws are strong enough for you to reasonably win prizes. Not only that, the plushies are fairly good quality. Some are better than others. There were blind boxes in some machines too. We spent $40 and craned 8 plushies.
