Been going here for 25 years, and my son since 4.5 years old. You need to know that this is a man's barber shop only. They do not do special cuts, styles, or any fanfare. They prefer to Not give females boy haircuts just because they feel uncomfortable, and don't need the drama with special requests. Small children that cant sit still immediately are shunned. Not because they are cranky old men, but because they do not want to cause the child to get hurt because they move into the blade. This is a $6.75 hair cut or $10 with tip. They don't get paid much, so don't expect special treatment. This is fast in and fast out. 3-5 guys pumping out haircuts in 5 min. each. Appreciate that!, or if you have special needs go somewhere else and let the regulars get their haircuts without listening to your drama. Shity service. My wife and son waited patiently for a while just to have the barber refuse to cut my son's hair. He wears his CURLY hair slightly longer on top. I've been taking my two boys there for about a year-and-a-half. I never had anyone tell me anything until today. All of a sudden they won't cut his hair unless they do a "boy cut" whatever that means. I mean, I thought PMS was only a female problem. But apparently I was proven wrong today by these moody old gals. So if you have boys that aren't getting a "boy cut" don't even waste your time. Don't take your children to this place for hair cut!!. This barber shop is near to my living place, so i thought of trying this for my 3.5 years old. Experience is horrible. As soon as i made my kid sit on chair, he immidietely passed a comment saying I wont do it. He even't tried attempting to cut the hair, so i requested him to do so. Very reluctantly he used cape gown, but my kid already scared of his behaviour and got upset. He was very rough, immidietely started pulling out the gown very roughly. I have requested him that he is kid and be gentle. He passed a comment saying i am here to earn money and cant waste my time. This is extreme rough behaviour with 3.5 year old kid. HORRIBLE!! Rudest service I have ever had!! NOT even worth the low cost! I was hung up on 3 times! Finally the guy answers and says they don't take appointment walk ins only. I then walked in and no one greets you or says anything. I then say I was there for a cut and they just looked at me like I was lost. So I asked if I should just wait here and pointed to the bench. The older guy who cut my youngest hair struggled because my kid is autistic and hates noises or anything like that. My fault for taking him but he needs a cut & does fine with our usual barber. He was nice. The man (short Mexican looking) who cut my husbands hair asked him what he wanted so he shaved his hair off. Then said for us not to go back there again! I just moved to Orange within past few months, was looking for a new barber...I'm used to military style cuts (ivy league...high and tight!) cut by 60-80 year old former law enforcement/military men. Super Cuts doesn't do it for me...a friend gave me a heads up...I went. It worked for me...I got "Ivy Leagued" for less than $10 under 10 min. So, I go back yesterday. I've read the signs for hours. M-F 8 or 8:30 to 4:30...I get to the store front at 4:18pm. I park in front of the store front. The guy locks the F'n door in front of me. Looks past me...says NOT ONE WORD...turns off the lights...walks off. I'm going to choose to believe there was a family emergency and he needed to roll out, quickly. I'm not going to think, the most likely diabetic limp-dk old guy, is just socially and in a business sense inept! I don't even mind if you just say, "close'n early going home!" Just don't look at me through your door, with 12 min. left in your stated business hours (this after I made a full effort to hustle to get to your establishment, to give you my $ in return for your skill set.) and lock me out like I'm the village idiot. I've got tabs, patches, and all that too...you ain't gett'n any of mine. I don't know your military/ law enforcement background, and what gives you the right to display... but 've earned my humble right to be treated as a citizen and man in our community... Again, in a bigger sense...I'm good. I've gone through worse. I tried to support a local business...keep the tax money in the neighborhood...help you pay your rent. However, just to not have the manhood to say to my face, with 12 min. left in your business hours, I'm closing...is gutless. Best barber shop I've been to since I was a kid going to one in East LA! It's normally pretty quick in and out unless you get who I call Slow Mo in the first chair closest to door. I like the no wait policy you get whoever is next and if you don't like it then too bad you can leave. This makes the stop much quicker. Price us great at $6.25 a cut, the only downside is the small parking lot with some sketchy parking in the back lot. I give them a 5 star review since I get good service and am happy with my cut every time. read more

For a 7 dollar haircut you are getting pretty much what you pay for. I specifically asked for a haircut in which the top wasn't cut but the sides were brought down to a metal 2. Within the first minutes the barber already started cutting the top and went against exactly what I asked. He was rushing to finish the haircut and he was trying to finish within 5-7 minutes. When I got to take a look at myself in the mirror it wasn't what I asked for at all. Overall a lack of care for the customers but what do you expect with a haircut that was 7 bucks. I am new to the neighborhood and I wanted a cut without breaking the bank. These are one of the cuts where you just need to be cleaned, but you give a sh*t about looking super fly. So I went on Yelp and found the Yelper E.R.'s review and thought I would give this place a shot. I drive around the block and I finally found this on the corner next to the cleaners. Right when I walked in, it felt like I took a step back to the 1950's. There was an old fat guy that seemed somewhat irritated that I didn't know any better to grab a number from the register. I grabbed a number, and waited my turn as ordered. On this particular day the elementary school must of let out the kids early or something. I had to wait for 5 kids to get their hair cut before my turn. The best way to describe this scene was the first few minutes of full metal jacket as the young men get ready for boot camp. One of the moms of the kids asked if they can wait for their particular barber, and the angry old white guy said that it is not possible. At first I thought "no waiting" meant you don't have to wait for service, obviously this wasn't the case. So far without even getting my hair cut, I can tell that Kay Mar wasn't all about customer service. There were three fat guys cutting hair, it seemed like the younger fat guy with the blond hair was enjoying his job and talking with customers. The two grayed hair fat guys were all about just getting the job done. I got one of the gray haired fat guys when it was my turn. I got seated and he asked what I wanted. I requested my usual #2 on the sides, #5 on the top, faded and leave the front cut short. As he was buzzing up my hair, we struck up a convo about some random things and he seemed a lot more friendlier there. He also mentioned that he wasn't bothering to touch up my side burns since I was using my precision trimmer at home to style them. I told him that I can fix this myself. Few minutes later my hair was cut, and I was ushered to pay. I don't think he even bothered to cut the front since my bangs are still long as I type this review today. I wasn't really given an option to double check my cut since I was facing the customers instead of the mirror the whole time. He could've played a crazy prank on me, and I wouldn't know the difference. I would say he did a 7/10 job and it really doesn't matter since I gel my hair anyway. I recommend coming here if you have kids that don't care about style or men that just need a buzz cut. Coming here for quite a while when ever I have had short hair, prices alone, with usually quick service is important, you can't pick which barber but that doesn't matter since they really all so the same job with same quality based on my experience.
