    My bad experience with Yexael and the salon. I got barcode highlights, and was told I would have to pay extra to get it fixed.

    Please read the string of bad reviews before you go here -- I should have read them, and now I have to go to another salon to get my hair FIXED after coming to Kaya. DO NOT BUY THE GROUPON DEAL!!! My stylist, Yexael, rushed me though explaining the color process while making a few "suggestions" on what to get done. I said, yes, sure, that sounds great, let's do this & that to my highlights. Well, turns out those "suggestions" are actually extra salon services that I was almost charged for when I was done with my appointment. I had to explain to the receptionist that I will not be paying for anything because I bought a Groupon, since no one mentioned to me that there would be other costly services that were provided. Otherwise I would not agree to them. Super sketchy!!! Now on to actual highlights -- the stylist told me he knew exactly what he was doing and he would get my partial highlights exactly right based on the photo I brought in. After he was finished, from the front the highlight look ok, but once you lift the hair, you can see white uneven streaks, like barcodes in my hair. Super disappointing! I called the salon to get it fixed, darkened slightly, since I was not happy with such a stark contrast (the photo I provided did NOT have that). Well, the receptionist told me that I would have to PAY EXTRA to get it fixed, since it would be "using more color" that was not in the original highlight package which I got. TOTAL RIPOFF!!! WHAT A SCAM.

    Asked for an ashy blonde, but got orange/green/blue. Worst color service

    Found this salon through a Groupon deal for a full highlight. For an Aveda salon I was hoping for decent results, but left the salon devastated. Nonetheless, am never coming to this salon again. Sorry, but I don't think groupon customers should be getting a lesser quality service, this seems apparent from other reviews on Yelp. I specifically took a day off from work for this service as they were all booked for services after work. I arrived on a weekday to an empty salon, thinking the stylist would take extra care and would not be in a rush. I had a consult with my stylist Cesarina, on the color I wanted to achieve. My hair was already very light through previously services, and wanted an ash grey/blonde and provided photos of the color as well. She explained in order to reach that color I would need to pay an additional $60 for a toner (ridiculous since this should be included. How else do u do highlights?!) regardless I agreed as long the color came out well. This was the beginning of my problems. She didn't seem to understand what "cool tones" we're and kept showing me color swatches. She didn't close any of her foils, so the bleach/developer was leaking out the foils leaving bleach spots. Sloppy job. Salon did not have heat lamps to process, the assistant blew dry the foils less than 5mins and walked away. Toner applied to my hair burned my neck and scalp, this has never happened to me before, in the 10yrs I have been professionally coloring my hair. She assured me this was "normal" After blow drying my hair, I was clearly unhappy with the results as the color was nothing like the picture provided, the stylist must've known as well since she was not surprised when I pointed out the color came out terrible. She then asked the assistant to push products to sell to me, when I'm sure the assistant realized I was already very unhappy. I explained to Cesarina the color was not what I wanted, even though I paid extra for the toner. Her response was to wash my hair as the color would fade. i wasn't accepting of her response, but she kept insisting it would help with the discoloration. I was skeptical but felt defeated and left unhappy. In daylight, my hair was a dirty orange/green/blue. It was an embarrassment as a working professional to show up to work with such terrible results. I immediately called the salon the following day with my concerns. Management was not very understanding and put the full blame on me as the customer. the manager also advised the stylist knew there was a chance I would come back for a color correction, this is not right. If a stylist is already aware the results were bad and I explained my disappointment the same day, I'm still not understanding how this was MY fault or why this wasn't corrected the same day as well. Dear Kaya Salon, if you okay with your customers leaving unhappy, and your is staff ok with lackluster results, this is definitely NOT the attitude of a high end salon, so please don't advertise as such.

    Found this place from. Groupon I had. The lady was sooooo good. I normally go through hell for Brazilians because they're so painful. But she made me feel little, to no pain. I bought 3 more groupon's after I left the salon. All I had to pay was taxes which was about $2.

    Saw the waxing deal on Groupon. Great price!! Took me on time for my appointment. I had Tiffany who was highly educated and had a lot to say about her past waxing history which put my mind at ease. She definitely knew what she was doing and made me feel very comfortable in a uncomfortable situation. She works Tuesdays and Weds. so if your basing your experience off of mine those are her days in the salon! They have decent package deals and give you discounts when you refer friends, any discount is a good one. Overall very happy.

    First time experience was great but now they don't have any available appointments so I am editing my review. Super clean and beautiful salon. I called in the morning and was able to schedule an appointment for the same day. I went in for color correction and a cut and Rathi greeted me with a big smile. She introduced me to Tatiana who worked on my hair. Tatiana listened to all my questions and concerns and told me how she would approach my hair. After color, she washed my hair and the head massage was amazing. I have really long hair and her cut left my hair feeling healthy and even. I left with an Aveda goodie bag. So happy I decided to try this place! I want to go back to try their facial and waxing services. They have it all.

    Amazing experience! I had a consultation where I was asked exactly what I wanted, a thorough wash (felt like a massage!) and a careful haircut. I have front bangs that the stylist cut very meticulously, and really thin hair so she gave me multiple layers. Definitely happy with the volume and bounce of my hair!

    I've never been so excited to write a yelp review before! Yexael is amazing!!! My haircut is so cute - he understood exactly what in looking for and is a master at creating layers and volume. He even talked me through the blow dry process so if I want to copy the styling at home - I can do that too. Can't wait to post pictures! Do not hesitate to book here - you are in expert hands! Thank you so much Yexael! Oh and the music is super chill and the decor is very relaxing - mellow pale colors... Everything awesome!!

First of all, it was so happy to see that they had some same day appointment availability! Why that may not always be the case, some booking systems will still only show starting next day. When I showed up to my appointment, I checked in and filled out some basic, new client information. I was then taken to my room with my waxer promptly after. They use hard wax here which many people prefer, but for me hurts the most. But I don't really care what is used as long as they're hygienic, quick, effective and will not spawn in-grown hairs. My waxer was quick, thorough and one week out...things are still looking good! As a bonus, first time clients got a significant discount which made me even happier about my experience. While my experience before check out was already excellent, that was just icing on the cake. Overall, I left very impressed and will definitely return again in the future!
