I've been going to Marie for a couple of years now. She is a marvelous hairstylist and has been and lives in the neighborhood for many many years. She runs a very lovely salon and can beat any prices in the neighborhood. I went today with hair mid back. I really needed a cut to rid myself of very bad dead ends. She knew exactly what to do and I left with a great style and prospects of letting my hair grow healthily in future. The plus is that she's affordable! No push for products etc. Actually, she said take a picture of the products she uses. so, they could be purchased at Amazon or nearby CVS! Only cost me $65 when every place nearby wants $200 plus. She is also a font of information about Hair and the growth of this neighborhood. It's very hard to find a real neighborhood spot in Chelsea but this is it! Old school mani/pedi/hair salon My uncle, back in the day owned a salon like Maria Lacomme. This place is hard to find, its on the second floor and I saw it from the sign on the sidewalk. The place doesn't look like Bunble and Bumble but its clean and open with the windows facing the street. I stopped in at 10:00am, I had the place to myself. Make an appointment because walk ins are frowned on. I asked if this place is crazy busy on Saturday morning? My nail technician said it is so if you need to plan ahead if you need hair/nails/spa services. My Pedi was pretty good, the spa service I'm used to was a lot longer that what I had at Maria Lacomme. I had a nice foot massage, I like my legs rubbed too! I didn't get it here so, I knock off a star. The place was nice looking... When I walked in I was greeted by the man at reception who was very nice. He offered me water and a moment to relax before taking my groupon voucher. Also I had an awesome experience because they still accommodated me even though I was about 20 mins late. The appointment before me had come in early and we basically switched places so everything worked out perfect. Oh yea just remembered... The outside of the place has a for lease sign and looks closed. It's located above Ricky's. I'm terrible with names but there was an older lady who did my waxing service. It was my first time and she was very nice and assured me I would be fine. She also walked me through it. I would recommend this place. They all seemed nice. My only complaint would be the waxing table... It was covered with paper which was fine... But the covering under it wasn't the cleanest I've come across. I love their manicure and pedicure. Mila is my favorite and she makes me love pedicure even more. She has a great style of doing pedi and mani and she is great in talking to you. She is hard working and after her pedicure I don't have to worry about my feet for a good while- just change colors whenever I want. I love her manicure as well. MISTAKE. - The salon reuses strips. - The salon double dips the spatula-stick. - The salon does not use gloves. - The wax was done incorrectly (wrong direction). It was probably the longest and most painful Brazilian wax I've ever had done. The last 5 minutes were done with tweezers... (yea, it was THAT horrible). First, I made an appointment with one person, and got another. That is a MAJOR no-no, especially when I was making an appt for an eye brow wax. The lady who took care of me was in a hurry because her next appt showed up and was waiting for her. She left wax on both brows and didn't really do a good job of plucking or trimming. I also got a mani/pedi, and the toes were fine-she used a credo knife, which no one does anymore, but she cut my fingers near the cuticles, twice! And, I saw her take the same tools she used on me to start her next clients pedicure. Ick. Plus, the receptionist was kind of a dick on the way out. He was all uppity, and I'm like, "Dude, you work in a salon, you don't own the salon." I give them two stars because the facilities are nice, and I like the location. I came here for a Brazilian wax with the LivingSocial deal. Maria was my (very patient) waxer. I've had several bikini waxes before and attempted one Brazilian at another NYC salon that had to be cut short because the pain was unbearable and the woman was completely irritated with me. This was my second attempt, and I'm proud to say I made it to the other side. This would not have been possible if Maria hadn't been so great with me -- it felt more like a therapy session than a spa appointment. She taught me how to breathe, how to brace for each yank, and advised me on how to make this process much less painful in the future. I did not see any evidence of the salon reusing strips or double-dipping, contrary to other reviews. My only complaint was in the middle of the wax, in a position that could only be compared to the Cirque de Soleil finale, another spa associate walked in, thinking the room was empty. I mean, we're all women, it's nothing she hasn't seen before, but it was an admittedly vulnerable moment. Sh*t happens, my wax results were still perfect. A couple "do not disturb" signs might be a good investment. I'll definitely come back again, but might take a couple Tylenol beforehand next time. read more

I purchased a Groupon for a $25 "spa" mani/pedi. This mani/pedi combo retails for $50 regularly supposedly. This is what I didn't like : 1. Queeny, bitchy, rude phone boy 2. the space was less than "spa like" 3. No perks of a "spa" mani/pedi I called this place to schedule an appt and the bitchy phone boy exclaimed "yeah you and everyone else in New York" - uh no. I will never go back based on that alone. Secondly, their walls were dirty. The place was sparse. The pedi chairs didn't massage. The lights were harsh and bright. I really, truly cannot believe people actually pay $50 for a mani/pedi here. I guess a fool and their money.... In queens I can get a mani/pedi in Astoria in a beautiful real spa for $23 that comes with a paraffin wrap, real shea butter rubbed on your legs, a guy who massages you , and they do everything for you - and its all included in the price. I really feel like I wasted my money with this groupon. I guess you live and learn. read more

My experience was good, but I have to take a star off. I walked in and the two men at the receptionist counter were just lukewarm. I don't think I fit the demographic that they were used to. That's the only reason I can think of. I'm really friendly when I go to a new place, and I was no different this afternoon. In spite of the lukewarm reception, my manicurist did a great job. Between being new to NYC, busy and poor, it's been a few months, (yes, months) since my last pedicure - quelle horreur! She did a bang up job. Right now, I'm wearing sneakers with socks, and I just took a peek at my toes to double check...yep, they still look great! After years of going to what I think is the best manicurist ever that, unfortunately for me, works in a salon in Seoul, South Korea, I'm spoiled and compare everyone to her. I've not found anything as good here, but the lady I had at Maria Lacomme came close. She exfoliated, scrubbed, clipped, trimmed and polished throughly. I didn't catch her name, but I'll go back. On a Saturday afternoon I was wandering around Chelsea looking for a nail salon so I could get a pedicure. Why is it when you're not looking for a nail spot, you notice about four on every block, and when you are in search of a nail spot, you can't seem to find anything? Well, I turned left onto 23rd Street and came across Maria Lacomme Salon and Spa and decided to end my search there. I requested a pedicure and I was able to be seen right away. The salon itself was really clean, and each service station was very well-organized. I appreciate cleanliness in a salon because it assures me that I won't be leaving with a fungal infection. I went over to the chair, dipped my feet in the water, and it was HOT. Like, burn the soles of your feet hot. So that wasn't nice. The technician tried to cool it down, but she really didn't help much. I managed to suck it up and continue on with the pedicure. I asked for a "spa pedicure," which basically involves scrubbing the feet and legs to get a nice exfoliation. Well, there was little scrubbing. Most nail salons will even massage your legs for 5 minutes. There was no massaging either. The technician went ahead with the color and then escorted me over to the dryers. I was hoping I would get the obligatory shoulder massage while my nails dried, but I was hoping in vain. No complementary shoulder massage either. As soon as my toes were dry, I paid my bill, tipped the technician, and scooted on out of there. I've had way better pedicures from other salons. I'd say pass on Maria Lacomme and spend the extra cash at Iris Nail. FYI: They take cards, but the tip has to be in cash. read more

Went here for Brazilian waxing. While I did shed a few tears and fought the urge to scream and run the heck out sans undergarments, as a first timer, I must say I cant imagine any other place capable of forcing me to compose myself. The room was clean and Lana was great with keeping my nerves under control by being understanding and allowing me time to recover in between yanks and pulls. If you need anything, ANYTHING done with your hair, Matthew Taddeo is your man. I have been loyal to Matthew for about 5 years at this point. He does a fantastic job really listening to you and understanding what you want while making sure that it will work for your face, bone structure, skin coloring, and hair type (he even thinks about the shape of your head, I kid you not). My hair is naturally really fine, but I've seen him do all types of hair - thick, thin, long, short, frizzy, straight...you name it. If you want to keep it the same, he will do the same...well - maybe slightly better than what you had before - the guy has amazing technical chops, trained at Vidal Sassoon, has trained other stylists for years. Or, if you're like me and you want to mix it up a little bit and keep it fresh fairly often, he is a fantastic brainstorming partner - pulling up pictures on his phone, making suggestions for different cuts, color, and texturing. Even if you don't know what you want but you know that you want a change, he will figure it out with you. He is that patient, and he is that good. He will also work until you are thrilled with what he's done - he is a true perfectionist, but his main goal is for you to leave the salon loving the way that you look. I have literally never been disappointed with his work, and, I kid you not, complete strangers complement me on my hair ALL THE TIME. It's wild, and it never used to happen before I started seeing Matthew. Also, he's just a pleasure to work with. Some highly rated stylists in the city treat you like you're just the next one in line, but Matthew really lavishes quality time on you. He's funny, caring, will come in early or stay late if you need it, and puts a lot of thought and effort into keeping his clients looking amazing. If I ever moved away from NYC I would need to fly back once a month just to get my hair done with Matthew. read more

Went today to get my first Brazilian after purchasing a Living Social deal. I was a little hesitant because I have had issues at other establishments using the Living Social deals. Reception: I made the appointment last week over the phone, which was super easy. I arrived about 20 minutes early for my appointment and was received by a man at the reception desk. He was very friendly and asked me to pay the tax, which was not included with my deal. He did warn me over the phone that the tax nor the tip were included. Not a problem. Cleanliness: Being I was early I had to wait a few minutes. I did not mind as this gave me time to look around and discreetly check how clean the salon was. 5 Stars for cleanliness. Brazilian Wax: The wax was performed by a middle aged woman who walked me through the whole ordeal. As soon as she began she asked me if the temperature of the wax was ok or if it was too hot, it was fine. She was quick and tried to be as gentle as she could. I do not think she was wearing gloves but I can be mistaken. I did check to see if she double-dipped, she did not. Each application was with a new, clean, stick. She did reuse MY own strips to remove the wax but thats ok. She tried to be encouraging and was also very friendly. Once she was finished she cleaned me up and applied some baby powder. In total, I was in & out in less than 30 minutes. Overall, I recommend Maria Lacomme and will most likely return for my next brazilian read more

I got a Brazilian wax with Maria. Her son was managing the front desk and was incredibly pleasant. Maria herself is an amazing woman. She's been doing this for a long long time and takes serious pride in her work. She is also the sweetest person I'd ever met, talked to me the whole time, and I had such a great conversation with her, we shared a nice hug on the way out! Haha. So, for this reason, I feel horrible giving a not great review for the actual wax. As much as Maria cared about doing it well, I found that a significant number of the hairs broke instead of being pulled out, so it all grew back a lot faster than it should have. I also don't know exactly what caused this, maybe the wax was too hot (even though I didn't feel that was the case), but my skin started peeling during the days following the wax, which wasn't exactly ideal. I had a late appointment (half hour before close) and she ended up staying a whole extra 20 minutes to "get it right", which I appreciate, but I don't think that a wax should take 50 minutes. I can't say that I would go back again, even though I really respect Maria, but it just didn't end up being the wax I had hoped it would be. I would not go here for a wax ever again. The initial appearance of the salon would lead you to believe that the waxing areas would be just as nice/clean. I came in on a Groupon deal, so trying the salon for the first time. However, the waxing rooms are tiny and do not seem to be that well kept. Do not book an appointment with Julia!!! From the other reviews Maria seems to be the prize here. In general though, they do not wear gloves and double dip. Not cool. I was left with wax all over me, no oil was used. Further, as my waxer barely spoke English it was very difficult to communicate that I needed breaks. Overall, painful and uncomfortable experience. Went here for a Mani-pedi and it was excellent. Julie is a genius with French manicures I have finally found the perfect one in NYC! She is a perfectionist, which I love. My boyfriend could not get enough of my feet when I got home!! The place itself is nice and clean, the people are friendly and the location is great(right at the c,e train) The price was right, $35 for mani/pedi is average. I am from now on only going back to Julie for my nails. FYI the part where she massages your calves with the scrub was a bit rough but the rest of the pedi was great. its been a few days and my nails still look perfect! read more

I used this place as I bought a $24 manicure pedicure groupon from here with my friend. The manicure and pedicure was done very well by a lady named Sarina. She was super friendly and talkative, and I enjoyed the conversation with her during my manicure, when you can't be busy with reading a book. The pedicure was great, the chair was nice and massaging, the spot is clean. They have plenty of colors to choose from including OPI. The receptionist was super accomodating because I forgot to print my coupon, he let me print it. The only downside: I really want to go back, but my wallet can't afford the $35 cost + tip. Okay, I too somehow was convinced to buy the $60 introductory offer off of our friend Megan F on a street corner. This is one of the most out-of-character things I have maybe ever done in my life. She was so convincing, and I had been spending the prior week furiously yelping to find the best ever hair salon in New York. It had to be fate! Right? Well, immediately after shelling out my money on said street corner, I visited this yelp page and read all the comments thoroughly. I felt physically ill. I immediately looked into how to place a hold on the credit card I had used. However, once the shock and feelings of deception had faded, I began to think more rationally. Why not try this place out? If I set my expectations low and prepared for the experience that fellow Yelper Camille had, I believed I would be able to avert any real damage if absolutely necessary. So I made my appointment and figured I should get the thing out of the way. Well, maybe this was partially because of my excessively low expectations, but I had an excellent experience with a haircut and manicure at Maria Lacomme. I was working on drafting this review in my head the whole time, so excuse how long it is. Here are some of the key facts: 1) Reception: Terrific. So nice, called me by name, got my appointment started early because I was early and my stylist wasn't busy. 2) Hair washing: Meticulous, gentle, and smelled delicious. The actual thing you put your head in was horrifically uncomfortable, but the lady washing my hair kept helping me readjust to get a little more comfortable. The hair mask thing was really cool and everyone kept stopping by while I was under the dryers, offering me magazines or a fresh towel because the mask was being melty and dripping down my face. 3) Hair cut: I too asked for Ezequiel because I had read good things about him and plus, our friend Megan F suggested him so I figured going with him would be safest. Well, he was very good, talked with me about how I was considering going much shorter with my hair but recommended against it and explained why. Then we got started, and we talked a little but not too much, he was funny and also laughed at my probably dumb jokes. The haircut is okay, it's a little more feathery than I'm used to and my hair is kind of wavy so I'm not sure how it's going to look when I wash it (I don't do much styling on my own on an average day), but I kind of just told him to do whatever he thought was best. I am confident that if I had given him more direction he would have followed it, but I was willing to take a minor risk. 4) Manicure: Great, one of the best I've gotten. Not a ton of massaging or anything, but it was done so carefully and with so many layers that I feel like this polish is probably not going anywhere for the next month. Summary: Everyone was nice, everyone made me feel comfortable. The services in general were professional, personalized, and high quality. Every person I interacted with was courteous and happy to have me patronizing their establishment. Maybe this place has really gotten its act together as a result of the previous terrible Yelp reviews, but whatever the reason, I was impressed and pleased and will almost definitely return. read more

i came here courtesy of groupon... and i wasn't all that impressed. first off, the pedi chairs were not massage chairs. call me spoiled, but i like to relax when i'm getting a pedi and a massage chair is kind of a necessity. the mani was just alright. my hands and feet weren't rubbed nearly as hard or for as long as other places have rubbed.... and again, i might be spoiled, but i go for a mani/pedi and expect to leave relaxed. i spent most of my time there wondering when she was going to be done with me. it also wasn't very convenient for me to get to, so moral of the story is that i will probably never return. read more

I came here for a Brazilian wax with a Groupon that was purchased for me as a gift. I had a good overall experience. RECEPTION: I had an easy time scheduling an appointment over the phone. The man at the front desk also made it a point to let me know prior to coming in, at the time I scheduled my appointment (which I appreciated), that tax and tip were not included in the Groupon and that would need to paid in cash at the time of my visit. Upon my arrival I was greeted immediately once I walked in the door. I was quickly checked in (which included paying the tax owed on the Groupon for the service) and offered a seat and some water. I waited less than 5 minutes to be taken back into the waxing room. CLEANLINESS: The salon was very clean- both the main area as well as the bathroom and waxing room. SERVICE: I had a Brazilian wax done. This was not my first time getting a wax, I'm a 3 year veteran in the Brazilian wax area so I know what to expect. My technician was Maria, a very nice woman. Maria was very conscious of me, giving me breathing tips as well as being mindful of the wax's temperature which I appreciated. She kept the pain as minimal as possible and was very quick removing the hair (which is essential to minimize the pain). My only complaints would be that it didn't seem to be the salon's policy to wear gloves and I don't think they had a "no-doble dip" (this means the spatula used to apply the wax never enters the wax pot more than once) policy in place- both things that make me very uncomfortable from a hygienic standpoint. They did reuse MY strips to remove the hair, but this is a standard procedure when getting a wax even at the best of spas. HELPFUL TIPS: For those of you who are bikini wax virgins or highly sensitive: 1. Don't go right before the arrival of your "monthly visitor" as your are more sensitive during this time which means the process will be a lot more painful than usual. 2. Take 1-2 pain relievers on your way to the salon before your wax. (Advil, Tylenol or Motrin do the trick) 3. Make sure you have some hydrocortisone cream in your medicine cabinet at home to apply to the waxed area after showering and washing the area with warm water. It will make things feel a lot better, I promise! read more

My first experience with this salon was delightful: I asked for Julia, per a fellow Groupon commenter, and she did a fantastic job. The mani/pedi lasted forever. The gentleman running the place was also friendly and a total professional. My second experience, however, was more like that of several other commenters. The woman running the salon today was lovely UNTIL she realized I had a groupon. Granted I was coming in at the last minute without a reservation, but that was no reason to berate me in front of her staff and two customers, but that's what she promptly did. She claimed a reservation was REQUIRED (actually the groupon says encouraged, but whatever) and she insisted Groupon sent out an email clarifying this. Maybe they did, but I never got it - she claimed I DID in fact receive said email (I'm curious how she knows the contents of my inbox, but again, whatever). If she had let me get a word in edgewise, I would have told her I am on call most days, making reservations challenging. As I walked out the door to get away from her berating me, she told me she would have extended the groupon, but I wasn't nice to her. I continue to patronize many former Groupon businesses at their regular rates because of their fantastic services and products. This clearly won't be one of them. read more

Like most of the other recent reviewers, I bought the Manicure/Pedicure Groupon with a friend of mine. She arrived a bit before me, and was sitting reading magazines when I got there. The staff was really nice and showed us to the pedicure chairs. Our manicure/pedicures were rather nice but I felt like my nail technician, Mila (I think?), barely scrubbed my feet. She did a great job and was super nice though. It was really relaxing. One thing that I'm not used to though, is that since the manicurists are just manicurists, they do not provide the same level of service I'm used to at other places. While they carried my purse for me over to the nail table and dryer, they left my other two (light weight, easily carried) bags by the pedicure chairs. I was really worried about the items in my other bags, since I would've carried them myself but was told not to worry about them. I get worried whenever I can't see my items in my line of vision, and my back was to them, making it easy for them to walk away. Also, as I went to pick up the bags at the end of the drying, a different pedicurist pointed to my toes and a chip in the polish. She told me that there was an issue, but made no effort to fix it or to get my pedicurist to fix it (who had disappeared as soon as I sat at the dryer). I had to rush out, so I still tipped well and walked out with less than perfect nails. It was a VERY minor error, but it would've been nice if she offered to fix it or get my pedicurist rather than just point at the error and then go back to what she was doing. No one asked if they could help me with my shoes as I'm used to. The staff is still very nice though-- so it gets an "ok" rating. Not amazing, but it'll do if you're in the area. I'm not sure I'd pay the full price, I think I'll keep going to places with better service. Here's a breakdown of what I thought: Pros: - Nice service, really sweet manicurists - Nice atmosphere, clean and nice views out the windows - Decent mani/pedi Cons: -Manicurists do your nails and run out of there! Obviously they don't think full service is part of their job. -May not carry all your bags. -Will point out errors but not fix them. -Pedicure chairs don't massage. -Not a great massage of your feet/hands or not a great scrubbing of your feet. Also, there must be something weird about the staff here. One of the hairstylists had a computer out and he checked his email after his appointment left... kind of odd! I've never seen that before! While it was difficult to get an appointment and we had some scheduling problems, I have put my troubles aside because the experience was worth it. Very nice spot, VERY clean. My manicurist, Julie, did an amazing job. It was way better than your average mani/pedi. Scrub was a little rough but that's my only complaint. Maria was there and she is REALLY nice and friendly. About six months ago, I purchased a groupon (my first) for a spa mani/pedi at Maria Lacomme salon, which advertised itself as a full service spa with a welcoming atmosphere in the heart of Chelsea. When I booked the appointment, I was surprised that the receptionist was a little bitchy but I looked beyond it (afterall, this "full service spa" was in the heart of Chelsea). The evening prior to the appointment, they called to confirm, and I later went onto yelp to check out reviews which concerned me...it seemed no one who purchased the groupon was impressed with the way they advertised themselves or the work they did. On Sunday, when I walked in, the receptionist yelled at me, saying they'd been trying to call me all morning and that they couldn't see me. I pulled out my phone (completely confused and not at all amused) and saw no missed calls. I even pulled the call from the evening prior to show they had my number correct when they confirmed the appointment. The owner (well, I don't know she was the owner but she appeared to have some sort of authority) then came over screaming at me that it wasn't their problem and that they'd tried to call and cancel so it was my own fault that I'd wasted the trip into Manhattan. I asked for a refund (since the attitude was appalling) and they told me it wasn't their problem. I'd already paid groupon and I was on my own. Screaming. These two women were screaming at me. I explained to both women that the ratings on yelp reflected this kind of service and that I was appalled that they would treat a prospective client so harshly. I asked if there was another nail technician that I could wait for and they told me they only had one (again, full on yelling at me). I immediately left and went to my normal nail salon back in Park Slope. My main concerns...I made an appointment that they cancelled without notice because their nail technician called out sick. I understand people get sick but they never once called me. They never offered to reschedule, but rather forced me out of there with their yelling. My other concern is that this place is by no means a spa. It's not even a nail salon. It's a second rate hair salon that has one part time nail technician. I'm bothered that it was so grossly misadvertised and when I checked their prices, they charge $35 for a spa mani/pedi, not the advertised $49. I've already contacted Groupon to request a refund and I'm seriously considering a call to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Hands down the dirtiest salon I have ever been in. I found out about Maria Lacomme from a Groupon I bought. It took me months to book the appointment because the snotty receptionist said they were always full. I've been sold an introductory offer for Maria Lacomme, supposed to be worth $300 (the deal price was $60 but I had it for $30), which was a package including a haircut, hair treatment, personal image consultation considering your face shape and all of this, tanning session. I booked for two days later and what a surprise when I arrived there! Tiny entrance between two shops, poor reception and then the main room is just this one dirty and messy room, a salon with 2 manicure desks on the side by the window. They made me wait although it wasn't busy, not being excessively polite, and then someone made me a sign to come over, so I guessed it was my turn. And then started the worst haircut and treatment I've ever had. A woman washed my hair quickly and with HOT (understand burning) water, terrible scalp massage, no talking at all. She did put the mask on but I had to ask cause I had no idea what she was doing, as she was that mute. Then she just said "follow me" to take me to the dryer, sat me there and left me, I had no idea how long she was gonna leave me here. She came to take me to the seat, and a man started cutting my hair. He grossly combed my hair and cut my hair in 2 minutes. He cut about 3 or 4 inches although I did say I just wanted 1in cut. I also had to point out that one side was much longer than the other (like MUCH longer), and that I said I had my hair line on the side so he needed to do it before cutting. But he'd dried my hair already at that point, so he cut it all again when DRY. I already had split ends when I came out. Appart from doing the worst hairdresser job (and I've been to cheap salons and schools) I've ever seen, he was also super rude, not talking to me at all. When I told him it was much longer on one side he just compared them saying "no they're the same", and I had to get a little angry. He wanted to make me pay for using the straighteners, and for a salon that overpriced, I find this outrageous. Anyway, I hated it. Obviously I didn't have any of this personal image consultation. I was so angry and about to cry by the end of the haircut, so although I initially planned to have the manicure too, I just wanted to get out of this place. I told the receptionnist I wanted my money back, as it was the worst, rudest customer service I had, and I would need to have a new haircut in a week anyway. But all I heard was the usual "I'm sorry I can't do this. The manager is away...". I never had my money back, so at least I'd like to spread the word: DON'T GO THERE!! read more

Came in for a Brazilian wax with a Living Social deal. My experience was pretty good. The salon can not be called a hole in the wall, by any means, and it is very clean. Aside from a little snip because I was late for my appointment, the technican was very nice to me. She was understanding about the fact that it was my first time getting the wax, and was quick and professional. There was no double dipping...she used a new stick each time she applied wax. All in all, a good experience and I think I would go back....if only to see if it really hurts less the second time. :-) read more

Came here for a Brazilian that I got from Groupon. The faculties were very clean and I witnessed no double dipping. Maria was my waxer and she was fantastic! I've gone to Maria Lacomme for pedicures and manicures for years, and they've ALL been good. I've moved crosstown and I haven't found anything I like as well near me. I bought a groupon-type deal for a package of three tans and had a great experience. The man at the front desk, Dan, was incredibly nice. He was quick to help me, set up the tanning room, and had really helpful suggestions for what type of tan I needed. I didn't have cash on me for the tax, so he just told me to bring it next time. It was about a 15 minute experience, which was great - no wait, in and out. The room and bed were really clean, Dan's suggestions for the level and amount of time for the tan were spot on, and I left very satisfied. Stopped by for a spray tan since the location is close to my work and they have a 2 session for $40 deal. The man at the desk we super helpful. He took his time explaining the spray tan process since I had no clue what I was doing. The room was super clean and had all amenities that I would need. He left, I did the tan, it came out great and I was on my way in no time. read more

Maria is amazing! I won't let anyone else, including myself, tweeze my eyebrows. I started going to her about a year ago and she has worked wonders on my eyebrows. I recommend her to all of my friends and they love her too! read more
