I was basically told "we do free fixes," but that's not the point ,i was leaving for a trip and wanted my nails done correctly the first time. These nails started looking old after TWO DAYS. You could already see my nail bed growing out like they were weeks old. I got them done on the 16th and the photo is from the 18th. Super disappointing experience and definitely won't be going back.

I scheduled a visit a few days in advance for three people and four services and paid an $80 deposit ($20 per service) via Venmo. One person canceled that morning, but I was able to switch to a different service for myself that same day vs. losing my deposit. The two pedicures were fine. They were basic pedicures, and aside from the water initially being extremely hot, I was happy with the results. Because of the deposit, there was also no wait time. The head spa, however, was a completely different experience. This was my first head spa, so I was excited and expected it to be relaxing. Unfortunately, it was anything but. The massage was brief, and despite the menu stating that oils would be used, none were applied. During the double cleanse, the technician used her fingernails rather than her fingertips, which became painful. There was also an excessive amount of cleanser, and rinsing it out was difficult. The water temperature was extremely inconsistent--going from hot to ice cold--and water got into my ear. Instead of feeling relaxed, I was uncomfortable throughout the service. Afterward, my hair was not completely dry. When I asked for serum, I was told it had already been applied, and I had to explain that I wanted my hair fully dried and soft. Another staff member eventually finished drying it, and the end result was much better. The two services totaled $138, or $158 with a 15% tip. I shared all of this feedback with the front desk before leaving. They were receptive and said they would provide additional training. I was also told that the technician was new to the salon and has some communication issues. I appreciate that they listened to my concerns, but based on my head-spa experience, I would not return for that service. *********************************************************** FINAL THOUGHTS Making a reservation requires a deposit, but it does give you priority if there's a wait. PRO TIP: I visited on a Saturday around noon, and it wasn't busy at all. If you're coming in solo, you can probably skip the reservation and deposit. I've had two pedicures here, and the service was totally fine. No issues at all. I also clearly saw the technicians using Barbicide to disinfect their metal tools, although I didn't pay attention to where they pulled the drill bits from. Overall, the salon is CLEAN, which I really appreciate. Personally, I wouldn't get a head spa treatment here again. I was told they're having plumbing issues because the building is old and that their plumber hasn't been able to resolve the problem. However, based on my experience, I feel some of the issues were related to the technician and not just the plumbing. That said, I'd love to hear from others who have had a head spa here. How was your experience with the water temperature? Did you have a better experience with a different technician? I'd genuinely be curious to know!

I don't know why it's not more organized and concise, but several times my appointment has been double booked and had a scheduling conflict and I've had to wait or someone else had to wait because of a double booking. This is irresponsible and I hope they don't lose business because of it.

I recently had a gel acrylic full set done, and I'm extremely disappointed with the experience. This was, without a doubt, the worst set I've had at any salon. While the manicurist was friendly, she made several mistakes during the process. She cut my cuticles so badly that they bled, and they're still burning hours later. The paint job is uneven, with noticeable bumps, and the nails are misshapen. I politely asked her to fix a few things, but the issues were never fully addressed. What's even more concerning is that I observed her using the same tools on a client before me without sanitizing them. Given that she was cutting my live skin and causing me to bleed, I'm worried that if the tools aren't properly sanitized, germs could easily be transferred to others. While I'm fortunate I don't have any blood-borne illnesses, it's essential for any salon to maintain proper cleanliness to protect clients' health. In hindsight, I wish I had been more assertive and requested another nail tech to take over, but I tend to be shy and didn't want to cause a scene. Unfortunately, now I'm left with the need to have my nails redone for a special event, which will cost me an additional $45 plus tip. I'm truly disappointed by the entire experience. read more

I been going there for years and will never go again! When Tina, the owner, did my nails it was fine. Then she stopped doing nails, supposedly,And expanded to three times the size. The women who did my nails after didn't do a good job and they were always in a hurry. Last time I was there with a new friend I brought, I was showing the women what I wanted done and she kept getting mad and not understanding what I was saying. She started talking crap to her people and they kept coming up. She couldn't understand a simple "make the design bigger" which I was patiently saying not being rude although she had an attitude. Then she got up and said she's not doing it anymore! Just quit on me without any explanation, all because I asked her to do my flower bigger! Maybe get some people who speak English. It's a little awkward that they don't speak English, get made for bit understanding u and the fact I been going there for years and the owner did NOTHING ABOUT THIS, was shocking. My girlfriend and I came to Sacramento to visit our cousin and it was my girlfriend's birthday. So i wanted to treat her out. I yelped a nail salon and Kb nails seemed to have good reviews. So i took my girlfriend there. The customer service suck really bad. The lady that sat at the front desk greeted us. She didn't smile or actually pay attention to us. It made us felt unwanted. We told her that we wanted pedicures. She immediately told us to pick a color and have seat. We waited and waited, 20 minutes passed until we got seated. While we sat in the massage chair, she told us to wait a few more minutes. While we were waiting she had yelled at the workers to come and do our pedicures. We didn't mind waiting because we wanted to relax. The pedicure were great. The girls that served us did a very great job. Honestly, everything was great except for the customer service and that lady in the front need a lesson in customer service. I almost forgot, The floor was very dirty. I have been coming to K.B. for a while now and it is definitely my favorite nail place in Sacramento. When I moved here in 2007 from Pleasanton, I visited many nail salons trying to find my go-to one. I'd say I have been to about 10 other ones in Sacramento, but didn't like how my nails turned out at any of them so now I only go to K.B. nails. I admit I am pretty picky with my nails, and the person I go to at KB nails knows already how I like them to be and does a great job! Sometimes I like to get little rhinestones on the tip and I like that they remove the glue globs with a paper towl so the jewels don;t look like they are covered in glue. I like KB nails because the prices are very reasonable, the owners and nail artists are very nice, they do a great job on my nails, and it is very close to my house, in the same parking lot as McDonalds and the Car Wash ACROSS from Loehmans plaza, it is in the back left corner! Just be sure to book an appointment because they get pretty busy! read more

I've been coming here for a while now however I will not be returning back since today, I have had the worst experience here today, walked in greeted by this young girl in a pony tail, sat down asked her if she can do the design I showed her on my phone and she said yes, so I assumed she could do so and I believed her, I got a manicure and a pedicure the young girl was doing my mani older lady was doing my pedi, as half way through the process she starts making complication about whether if she can do the design I asked for so I felt very disappointed at this time, and she said extra $20 just for couple Jewels so I told her that's fine , however she then said she's not able to do it and kept giving such an attitude, oh my god how rude! I didn't make it complicated at all for her but the way she just looked so bothered, then should've gotten me someone different if you can't do the job that I asked you to. "So I wanted to trying a new nail salon and I found this place on yelp. It has good reviews so I decided to go with my sister in law to try it out. At first I wanted a pedicure and a manicure but I couldn't decided because I just recently had a manicure done. So I stood there a for a few mins thn decided that I just wanted a pedicure. For some apparent reason the older lady, I think she's the owner kept complaining to her coworkers that I can't make up my mind and call me crazy. I also overheard her talking down on other customers too. How do I know? Because my sister in law is Vietnamese. Anyway, the person that did my pedicure did a good job. Overall, If you want a well served place, don't come here. The lady owner acts as if she care about her customers but then turn around and talk smack. I have been going to KB Nails for over 2 years now and always have a great experience. Binh, Tina & Kim are the best!!!! Everyone who works there is extremely nice and considerate and on top of that they do a great job. I have pink/white gel nails and have never been disappointed with the way Binh does them. Tina is wonderful with waxing and since the expansion of the shop there is even a private waxing room....awesome!!!! And if you want the best pedicure in town Kim is your girl, she is extremely good and very considerate, 4 weeks after knee replacement surgery I was in getting a pedicure with no pain - the leg massage is the best. They all seem to really care about the service they provide. I will continue to refer friends and family. read more

I simply love this place! The ladies that work there are great! I've been going there for about 2 years now and they never disappoint. Very reasonably priced, good selection of shellac/gel colors and always a nice and friendly attitude. Some of the manicurists barely speak English, but that doesn't get in the way whatsoever. They WILL find a way to understand what it is that you'd like and do their best. Although, I have to say, I wish they had longer business hours. It is a little difficult at times to get there early enough, and they close at 7pm. Other than that, everything is great and I will be coming back again and again :))) read more

My daughter was married last month (September), and I had acrylic nails put on for the first time. I decided to keep them for awhile, but had to locate a salon that was closer to my home. I went on Yelp & found great reviews on KB Nails. BELIEVE ME- I am the most meticulous person around, and I can't express just how great a predicure and acrylic fill I received from Tina and Jeniffer @ KB nails. Jeniffer spent a great deal of time giving me a fabulous pedicure and Tina certainly knows what she is doing when it comes to doing acrylic nails. I do not recommend unless you don't mind a freestyle I wanted to get my nails done and I wanted square with a plain natural color I told the lady before starting she said ok .. it was suppose to be a 40 min manicure I was there for 1hour and 40 mins it seemed off at first but I just thought she was just taking her time .. It's best to come in first thing in the morning when they open, if you don't (even if you make an appointment) you'll most likely wait a while. Although, the quality is middle of the road. I've been coming here for at least a year, and have had adequate gel manicures. Although, it'll last you 2 weeks max. I moved, and started researching a few other places and found that KB is the McDonalds of nail shops. This is my go-to place for nails. Love the convenient location, the Sunday hours and the skill of almost all the techs. My nails almost alway look perfect and the price is fair. She cut almost every nail bed, and the polish wasn't cleaned off the sides. There were bubbles under some of the polish, which I asked about, and then another coat was put on. The service just felt super rushed. It was really busy, so that's understandable, but maybe the quality would have been different if it hadn't been. I tried to call afterward and was told to put oil on my fingers.

However the quality of the service was not good. The massage was great. They take their time with that part. But when it came to do my acrylic for my big toe(I like the square look) it was rushed. Even the nail polish. I literally had clear nail polish all over my toes. 2 days later the acrylic fell off my big toe. Today I went back to give it another chance cause you know sometimes you just get the right person. This time the acrylic is so thick that it doesn't even look like it's my toe anymore. The massage was great. But he quality of actual nails is not there.

Since I was a walk-in and wanted to get my nails done, I agreed to add gel as well. The only positive thing I can say is that the manicure tools came in a sealed, sterilized package. Unfortunately, the rest of my experience was very disappointing. The towel on the table was clearly not clean or fresh. I expected a clean towel for every customer, not one that appeared to have already been used for someone else. I had removed my acrylic nails a few months ago and had not had a manicure in a long time, so my cuticles were hard. Instead of using a cuticle softener or allowing my hands to soak long enough to soften them, she forcefully pulled at my cuticles. It was painful and very uncomfortable. Her customer service was very poor. She handled my hands very roughly, almost tossing my fingers from one side to the other. Throughout the appointment, I remained polite, but she made no effort to be friendly or provide good customer service. The worst part happened at the end. My hands were covered with nail dust, but instead of properly cleaning them or wiping them with a warm towel like other salons usually do, she applied lotion directly over the dust. I could clearly feel the particles being rubbed into my hands, which was very unpleasant. She did not even ask me to remove my watch and continued moving my lotion-covered hands back and forth over my watch. At the end, I paid in cash. While counting the money, she said, "Let me see," as if she was checking whether I had paid correctly. Because I was unhappy with the service, I decided not to leave a tip. She then loudly repeated, "No tip? No tip?" in front of everyone there. I found this behavior extremely unprofessional and embarrassing. Overall, this was a very unpleasant experience. Because of the rough treatment, poor service, lack of professionalism, and inappropriate comments about tipping, I cannot recommend this nail technician.

I feel like kids would absolutely have a blast with this service. I chose orange scent for the scrub and mask and they have 5 flavors to choose from. I don't know if I can go back to regular water after this because the jelly seriously made a difference for me while one foot was in the spa and the other was getting worked on. Came in the morning on a Monday and service was immediate. Even if I were to have to wait I would just go to the nearby stores like Michael's or Nike clearance store. They said gel was $15 extra, but they wouldn't tell me what the other extra $20 was for, then a representative saw this review and commented that the $20 was for paraffin dip and French tips. This is the first time I've been gouged so badly for those things. Most shops charge $5 each for paraffin and French tips. I've never been charged extra for gel. In my mind, they're just telling me not to come back. They're good, but not $75 worth!

She's so patient with me picking designs, re-doing things if I change my mind, finding perfect color matches. I've actually fallen asleep multiple times on accident because she's not heavy handed & she doesn't care. I'll leave with Pinterest worthy nails every time. They offer complimentary beverages & have great prices for ALL services. I've been coming here for almost a year and they're always super accommodating. I sometimes will come in not knowing what designs I want and they figure it out every time so I don't have to worry. The shape and length are always perfect as well. I've never had a set that didn't get compliments. I forgot to mention Kim always fits me in when she can. She's truly a saint fitting me in when I'm sleepy and indecisive /unprepared. The biggest issue wasn't even how my nails turned out it was the cleanliness. The technician's supplies were in what looked like a makeup bag with products and tools thrown together. Nothing was organized, labeled, or stored in a way that is up to state board regulations. The tools and products appeared dirty, and I did not see any sanitizing being done. What bothered me the most was that after filing my acrylic, she dusted my hands off with a makeup powder brush that was visibly caked with old product and debris. It was clearly not clean, and I was honestly shocked that it was being used on clients. My nails turned out mediocre, but the sanitation issues were the real reason I won't be returning. Cleanliness and proper sanitation should be the bare minimum when providing services like these.
