We have to agree with another reviewer, Georgina. After a long day of hiking, we were starving and excited for a good meal--but for the price, the portions were underwhelming. The food itself was pretty mediocre. The chicken was a bit dry, and the beef tasted low quality. Also, don't expect to easily get extra sauces. When we asked, we got a long-winded explanation about how popular the spicy sauce is instead of a simple option to add it. Finally got around to trying out this place that has been on my bucket list for a while. Soy teriyaki is a fantastic Korean owned teriyaki place. I got the chicken with gyoza and it was excellent. The chicken was tender and seasoned nicely. Not too salty. They do give you extra sauce if you want it saltier. The gyoza and salad were also well done. Nothing special but complemented the chicken nicely. The service is counter service but the workers bring the food to you including a fork and napkin. I noticed some of the sodas were expired so I ended up getting a different flavor than I originally intended. The restaurant is clean and well kept. Highly recommended lunch spot! read more

My family has a long history of consistent tasty meals here going back about 7 years now. When my wife was pregnant with our now almost 5 year old twins they did a fantastic job creating platters of their chicken, rice, salad, and accompanying sauces for our group of 30ish people. Additionally, this restaurant is part of my weekly lunch rotation. I order a spicy chicken both with broccoli and rice and in my book it's the best value lunch $8.88 in the area. The chicken is always tasty with great texture, the broccoli is freshly steamed with a nice crunch, while the rice is always consistently prepared and never hard. My family also enjoys their bibimbap and jap-chae noodle dishes. Make sure you get a stamp card because once you start coming you'll be counting down to your 10th item where you get a free menu item! Great value and service and if you call ahead it's almost guaranteed your food will be ready within 15 minutes. read more

I love this place. I go often and its always amazing. My personal favorite is the Chicken Teriyaki Yakisoba. I always ask for extra sauce though, they give one small size (quarter size lid) container of sauce but I like more. Personal preference! Their slogan is "The best grilled teriyaki in town" and they may actually live up to the hype. This is a small chain franchise with 3 locations in the PDX area. They have a unique spin on the ubiquitous Teri chicken bringing a Korean perspective and flavors as well as a few traditional Korean dishes. I had the #2 Special Spicy Teriyaki Chicken for $8.25 and it was pretty good. The sauce is quite unique and moderately spicy. The chicken was cooked well, moist and tender. The rice and salad were good too. I would say that Soy Grill is slightly better than Joy Teriyaki and much better than Ichi and the other Teri Joints in the Couve. I wish they would have more Korean dishes. It's hard to find good Korean food in the Couve. Check it out. Update 7/21/17: I tried the Bi-Bim-Bap and it was awesome. Also tried the non-spicy Teri chicken and it was good but not quite as good as Joy Teriyaki but close. read more

This hole in the wall has amazing food. The portions are enough for lunch the next day, the service is exceptional and cheap prices. I had the Bipimap and it was delicious. Unique and the flavors were so good I went back and got the same thing a few nights later. The pot stickers are very tasty and cooked to perfection (not greasy like most). Middle of the road place to pick up the basic chicken teriyaki. We ordered the $7.50 meal to go (no indoor dining) which comes with the iceberg lettuce salad and realized when we received it, they must have not have provided us the teriyaki sauce? We usually expect two sauces that come with the main course but we got the more thinner sauce in which we poured over our rice. Prices are pretty good and looks like they gave us all white meat (I favor a mix of both dark and white) but overall the meat itself had a nice grilled flavor. Some pieces were soft and tender and others were a tad bit dry. Like I said, maybe we were missing the sauce and it would have tasted better so we will give this place another shot and see.
