We came in for happy hour and let me tell you we were not disappointed in a single thing. Our server Mike was amazing. He guided us through the menu and helped us pick out some incredible options. The drinks were fantastic, the service was attentive, and everything came out perfectly timed. The happy hour deals are unbelievable maki rolls for $14 and appetizers for $8. You really cannot beat that for the quality. The food itself was phenomenal. If you love scallops, these were some of the best I've ever had. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The atmosphere is also worth mentioning as the aesthetic is beautiful, laid-back, and calm. It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy amazing food. I cannot wait to come back. What a wonderful experience.

The Service From the moment we arrived, the service was incredible. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made our experience truly special without being overbearing. It's rare to find hospitality this good. The Food Everything we ordered was absolutely delish nothing disappointed: * Sushi Rolls: We ordered two different rolls, and the presentation and taste were both top-tier. * Cuatro Leches: We ended the night with the cuatro leaches , which was decadent, and the perfect sweet finish to the meal. Ambiance: Romantic- the decoration was perfectly designed. I love this place. Excellent all around.

-- I would actually rate this as 3.5 stars overall. --…read more I've lived nearby for quite a while and didn't even know this place existed. It's tucked in the shopping center next to Publix and across from a school. It's in no way obvious from the street, and even the sign is obscured. The restaurant is kind of plain inside. Nothing about it stood out as being great. And they weren't too busy on a weekday at lunch time; that could be good or bad, I'm not sure. I think it's owned by a Venezuelan family, but it's definitely Japanese in its menu. And they have a whole vegan menu! That's pretty awesome. The waiter was very nice and fairly accommodating as we asked for a few things. We opted to go for the vegan menu, and because we were a party of 5, we took the 2 appetizer & 5 entrees option on the menu. The thing about it is that the entrees were all interesting and unique in some ways. They weren't regular sushi with some substitutions. They really made an effort. For the appetizers, we took the gyoza and the bao buns. The gyoza (5 in a serving) were very tasty and the bao buns were good but there were two to share with 5 people. We all got a taste but it was a little odd. It came with maple mustard, which was a great accompaniment, even with the other dishes. For the entrees, the standout was the ceviche. It was a clever use of fruits and vegetables in lime juice that certainly mimicked its fish counterpart. The "pizza" was interesting as they made use of the rice as a crispy base. The other three rolls we got had some nice textures and flavors, so we were happy with them. The reason I rounded down on the stars were two things: the atmosphere and the overall price point, which was a little bit on the high side for what you get. Otherwise, it was a good experience, and I would encourage anyone to check it out. Try the vegan menu, it's unique and pretty good.

New to the Country Isle Plaza on Weston Road, Kao is a sushi & ramen restaurant. I did think…read morethey'd have a little more raman choices on the menu, but today was our first visit and my daughter and I shared 3 rolls & my husband had a noodle dish. The decor is minimal, but nice. Service was friendly but with the restaurant being new to Weston it would have been nice to be told a little bit about the concept & maybe have some recommendations. While we were there, there was one other table & a to go order. We ordered spicy edamame to start. The presentation was pretty and the flavor was very good. My daughter had the miso soup. It had a nice amount of tofu, but she said it was a little saltier than she was used to, but she really enjoyed it. We shared the cream cheese roll (a little sweet and loved the texture of the nuts on top), the New York (standard salmon avocado & cream cheese) and the tiger roll (it had an interesting flavor due to the Tigre milk). The rolls each had unique flavors and we had plenty for my daughter to take home for next day's lunch. My husband had a noodle dish with chicken. He said the vegetables were cooked perfect and the bowl was filled with veggies and chicken. Most places you have to search for the veggies & protein, so my husband truly enjoyed it. They appear to have a bar, but sodas are served in cans and their was only pellagrino for soda water...so refills for drinks other than plain water incur additional charges. We ended with dessert. The 3 of us shared the chocolate ganache - which was basically a brownie sundae with a side of chocolate sauce. The brownie was good. It wasn't crazy sweet and we really enjoyed it. We enjoyed our food & look forward to trying some other menu items.

Kao Sushi & Ramen has potential, but it falls a bit short in some areas. The restaurant is cute,…read morebut the decor feels like something is missing--some wall art or added touches could really enhance the ambiance. For a ramen restaurant, I expected the ramen to be better; it didn't quite hit the mark. However, the volcano roll was phenomenal--highly recommend it! The bao buns were solid as well, making up for some of the shortcomings. The service was quick, likely because the restaurant wasn't busy, which was a plus. With some improved marketing and a few updates to the decor, I think this spot could attract a much larger crowd. I would definitely go back and try some different items from the menu.
