This place is neither good nor terrible. The falafel gyro was bland and almost tasted a bit burnt but the chicken gyro was pretty good but the chicken itself was kind of dry. The lentil soup was actually pretty good and well seasoned but the stuffed grape leaves (dolmas) were too sour and tasted unappetizing. I definitely would not come back except to get their chicken gyro (which in and of itself is not too hard to mess up) and their lentil soup. Other than that, hard skip, and you can find other Mediterranean foods at other locations.

Clean healthy place. And the food tastes good. The owner is very friendly and approachable. Highly recommend

Good gyro, owner was very nice about working with me to avoid dairy, substituting hummus and tahini for the usual cheese and yogurt.

The staff has always been friendly and attentive. On this visit, we ordered the appetizer sampler, lamb chops, and the Adana kabab. Everything was excellent. The appetizer sampler is a great way to start the meal, the lamb chops were cooked perfectly, and the Adana kabab was flavorful and well seasoned. My only disappointment came at the end of the meal. We were planning to order dessert, but the kitchen had already closed. It would have been nice if our server had stopped by a few minutes earlier to let us know the kitchen was about to close and ask if we wanted to order anything else. That small bit of communication would have made the experience even better. Overall, this is still a great restaurant with delicious food, excellent service, and a beautiful atmosphere. Just keep in mind that the kitchen may close earlier than you expect, so if you're thinking about dessert or another course, order it before the kitchen shuts down.

I had their Lebneh sandwich which was delicious but pretty light. Not ideal if you're really really hungry. Their matcha was ok. I added simple syrup but I wasn't impressed. The sandwiches are pretty big you can probably share one between two people especially if you want to get a dessert. Beef egg & cheese sandwich - my husband got this one and it's a nice breakfast sandwich it has really nice spices in it which make it different from other breakfast sandwich places. Kafta sandwich - this was perfect for lunch the flavors are really amazing. The baked desserts were hit or miss I'll come back to try some more. I wasn't the biggest fan of the flour used. It was pretty busy on the weekend, but we still managed to find parking and a table. People work on their laptops there so the turn over is slower. The inside is a bit cramped, I did have a little anxiety because there's really no space between you and the person next to you and there's just a small path to walk around. Parking is around back of the building, it has signs up that it's parking for that building only. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

We were having dinner with some friends and this was centrally located - plus one of our friends is Persian and she insisted - so we were offered a lovely glimpse into this beautiful cuisine. As any of you who have read my reviews know, I am Greek and Greek food is among my favorites. Well, Persian food is "kinda sorta" like Greek food only slightly different to keep it interesting. I was pleasantly surprised. We started out the meal with a sampling of appetizers. Zucchini fritters, hummus, fresh tomato salad, octopus, beet salad. All wonderful and all perfectly prepared and beautifully presented! For our main course, we had some lamb, a ground beef kabob and chicken kabobs. All wonderful. The lamb was - in my opinion - perfectly cooked; the meat was "fall off the bones" tender, just the way I like it and just the way that Greek cuisine would cook it. I did not need a knife to cut it. WOW!!! There was also a beef stew so luxuriously seasoned that it transported me to the Middle East! Cinnamon, probably star anise, cloves definitely! Really different and lovely. As good as all the food was, the rice might be the star of the show for me. They have a way of preparing rice so that it has a crust to it. The outer layer is crispy, crunchy (in a good way) and I loved that. The inside rice is tender and chewy. Divine Divan!!! The ambiance of the dining room is okay. Nothing special. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing to add an additional star to this review. Service was professional and fast. Will I return to Divan? Oh yes! Do I recommend it? Oh yes but not on a night when I want a table there!!!

The Musakka dishes are served with a side of rice pilaf and the Omelete with a side of fries. Bottom line - all three of us found the entrees to be bland. In fairness, I have only had Greek Musakka before, but I expected more seasoning and flavor, and my friend (the vegetarian) noted that they didn't get a hint of Bechamel - only mozzarella. I tend to agree the entree was heavy on the mozzarella and light on other flavors. We agreed that the rice was very good, both in texture and mild flavor. The french fries also were very good. The service here continues to be beyond excellent. Really good service. If I could give 3.5 as a score, I would, because the service was exceptional. But this is the second time I was here and both times found the entree to be bland. Maybe that's how Turkish food is - if so, please let me know, but I doubt it. The restaurant, which is very attractive and comfortable inside, has been around for 45 years and has an average Yelp score of 4.2. So obviously, a lot of people like it. I just call it like I see it.

Plus they have a great track record---they've been around for 44 years. They open for dinner on Saturdays at 5 p.m. That's when we arrived and were greeted and seated immediately. We liked their two top tables as they were wide and able to accommodate several items at once without feeling cramped. Our server was prompt getting to us. To drink, we both had ginger ale. For dinner, I had Filet Mignon Shish which consisted of: "charcoal grilled tender chunks of filet mignon skewered with fresh tomatoes, green peppers and onions. Served with rice pilaf and vegetable du jour". My husband had "Lamb Chops Karaman" which consists of: "Mediterranean cut tender lamb chops grilled to your perfection. Served with vegetable du jour and rice pilaf". Meals come with a side salad which is simply prepared. Our server offered to grind some pepper over them and we agreed. Plus two warm pitas along with butter were served. We found the food to be delicious. My filet mignon was served medium rare and was very tender, moist and flavorful. The grilled veggies were tender crisp. The vegetables du jour were nicely flavored and tender. The pilaf was wonderful---moist and flavorful. My husband really enjoyed his lamb chops. There were four on the plate cooked medium. He found them to be tender and flavorful. He, too, enjoyed the vegetables du jour and the pilaf. We saved room for dessert and ordered the "Mixed dessert tray for two". The selection varies each day so if you want to order this, ask your server what is on the plate that day. When we ordered it, there were 2 small pieces of each item. There was Turkish rice pudding, which was quite good and quite different from what one expects. Also, there was some pumpkin that was sweetened and tender. Creme caramel custard was also on the platter. The baklava was the star of the plate. Kazan makes their own which is orange flavored and awesome! The phyllo dough was crispy and light plus drizzled with honey and the orange flavoring came through clearly. My husband also had a Turkish coffee which he ordered medium sweet. I had Turkish tea which came with 5 sugar cubes on the side. The restaurant was very tastefully decorated with Turkish items. Service from start to finish was excellent. We left feeling like we had enough to eat but not so much that we were stuffed. And, yes, we intend to return!

I would recommend a reservation because it was quite busy but the bar always had space. Food was a 5/5 but service was a 3/5-4/5 - bartender and bar service was extremely slow. Probably waited 20+ minutes to order a drink, got water refilled once in a 3-hour timeframe, and had to reask for things like extra bread, to order, etc. We started with the Mayhbar items, including the falafel, hummus, and the kashke e-bademjan. They give this very thin bread but ask for extra because the HH portions are large. We did ask for mushroom hummus but somehow normal hummus came out instead. The hummus was so well whipped and the falafel was one of the most soft and tasty ones I've ever had. The grilled eggplant was good too but when we finally got the mushroom hummus, it was absolutely fantastic as well. Do not miss out on the hummus or falafel. For our main we shared the joon kabob platter. The chelow rice was fantastic and crispy, and the meat was so tender. I will say for $95, I wish they gave a bit more kubideh or chicken kabob. I know it's meant to be split amongst 3 but I feel like some cheaper chains easily for the same price would have given you two things of the "cheaper" meat. We got a side of Toum too and it was just absolutely a perfect addition to the meal. Drinks were decent but pricey if not on HH. Espresso martini was a bit creamy but their glass of rose was good (but really light pour for $22 a glass). A bit overpriced to come often but food quality is there.
