Stopped in for the 2nd time today and I'm glad I did. I ate here a couple of months ago and thought it was just ok. I think I went a little crazy with all the toppings you can add and it just lost some of the appeal of a traditional gyro for me. Don't get me wrong, it's awesome they have so many fresh ingredients you can pile on - my buddy loads his up every time! Today, I decided to go with the Kefi Classic Gyro (on special right now), light on the raw onions. Wow! Really good. They were very generous with the gyro meat and the toppings were gingerly place along the top. The pop of those fresh cherry tomatoes, resulted in a burst of freshness that balance the richness of the meat and tzatiki. The onions also helped balance everything out. As I was waiting to check out, I overheard the customer in front of me asking for hot sauce, which I didn't even know they had. The green salsa is Jalapeno-Cucumber and the red was Harissa based. I wouldn't say either was hot, but both had an interesting flavor. For me, the red Harissa was the winner. Very clean restaurant, with courteous and speedy staff. First time trying Kefi tonight, and while the business is clean and the food was good (as I was told by my partner), there needs to be a heavier emphasis placed on ensuring the food is fully cooked. I ordered a bowl with grilled shrimp. There wasn't any shrimp pre-cooked, so the server called someone from the back to grill up some shrimp specifically for my bowl. I appreciate the individual service, but I could tell the worker grilling the shrimp was nervous about having to make a customer wait. It really wasn't an issue to wait at all. Sure enough, I checked the shrimp when I got home, and it was still raw inside. I'll go back because the food smelled really good, but I may just get a different protein to avoid that problem again. read more

Kefi is exactly what we needed in NE Bend, and all of Bend for that matter! Went there around noon on a Thursday, first week they were open, they were busy! I ordered the half rice and half salad bowl with chicken. It was amazing. It filled me up and I enjoyed every single bite. It's so great to have a healthy option that's quick and not overpriced! I have to mention my biggest rave is the fact that the food actually tastes HOMEMADE.... you can taste the herbs and spices, the grilled flavor of the meat, the veggies are fresh, and the sauces and meat are not over salted like most restaurants! I appreciate the toppings like: marinated olives, big chunky artichokes, crisp cucumbers, golden beets, the rice is high quality as well.... you can tell the owners put a lot of thought into the ingredients and did not slack when creating the menu. Oh, boy, I wish I could say something good but the only thing I can say is that it's lucky that most people around here have never had falafel. That way if they tried this, they might just think falafel isn't for them! Falafel is not meant to be raw inside and puck like on the outside Sandwich had one piece of cucumber and some cherry tomatoes. No hummus and no tahini sauce as promised just a little container of liquidy ranch like yogurt that I think was meant to be tzatziki sauce. With so little ingredients, it was basically bread and raw falafel. The aftertaste from the raw inside and cardboard outside makes it hard to forget the worst falafel sandwich in the history of falafel sandwiches, and so expensive! Almost $17 for four cherry tomatoes, a piece of diced cucumber and raw falafel. Apparently two fries got shoved in there, even though they weren't meant to be included at all. read more

My son had never tried Greek food, I LOVE Greek food so when we were out yesterday I took him to Kefi. He loved his food and kept exclaiming how fresh and delicious it was. I live in a small town and didn't realize how much I miss fast casual restaurants like this. You walk up to the counter to order a pita or a salad or a rice bowl, customizing with your choice of meat or protein, toppings and sauces. They even had beer for my husband. I worked here for 18 months. I absolutely love the family that owns it. They are good people and I am grateful that I got to be a part of something that I still crave and go to often. They're the only place that I know of that has dolmades and I love them! With tzatziki and honey harissa hot sauce!! my child was three when I started working there and she loved rice bowls with chicken, tomatoes, and feta. I've ordered from Kefi twice during my frequent trips to Bend. Once, I ordered meals to go and another, I ordered delivery. Both experiences were pleasant and the food was delicious. I built my own pita with falafel and all of the ingredients were fresh and tasty. The dolmas, spanakopita, and baklava were all delicious additions to my meal. My only complaint is that the first time I ate here, I asked for the fries to be removed from my pita and they were served on the side. This time, the fries were removed and not served at all. Perhaps I should have been more specific, but it seems these would naturally be served on the side if the option is to "remove fries from pita." Love Kefi! They are delicious and such great customer service too. Takeout and online ordering is super easy and they have a whole separate entrance where you can go in and grab your order - in the age of COVID it is so nice to minimize as much contact as possible. We love doing a quick lunch takeout here when we're in the north end of town doing errands. We put in a online order today and accidentally put the wrong phone number; some other person got our order text confirmation and called to cancel it! But they kept the order just in case so when my husband went to get it, it was already done and we just had to re-pay. Totally our fault but they handled it so nicely, so appreciated. read more
