Upon further inspection, the fly wheel was also beyond saving ( see attached pictures from Merlin). I was so stressed out, but they worked with us to find a way to pay off the amount of work, and I am beyond relieved! But, it gets worse, the part was out of stock everywhere. So after about 5 days, when they finally got the part, they stayed after hours to finish it up so we could pick it up the very same evening. Special shout out to Patrick and Steve whom we worked with, and Steve for offering me tissues! My husband drove the car home and said it feels like a completely different vehicle (in a good way) I would definitely recommend Merlin's for honest and timely work. We are so appreciative.

Shout out to Don's Auto Ade in Warrenville, Illinois. Yesterday an alert light came on in my car…read more It looked like the brake alert so I drove straight to the dealer. They said it was the tire alert. They looked at the tires, checked the pressure, and told me all was well. They said the alert would go off soon. Today the alert was still on. I called Don's Auto Ade where I bought my tires and they fit me into their busy schedule. They found a nail in my tire causing a slow leak. They quickly fixed it. While they fixed it I enjoyed their waiting room filled with snacks, comfy couches, tv, magazines, and clean restrooms. Everyone that works there takes extra time to make sure you know what is going on with your car. The prices are very reasonable. I also do all my oil changes at Don's.

I took my minivan in to the Acorn location…read moreon Ogden in Naperville because the tire pressure sensor light continued to come on, regardless of the tire pressure. Acorn had installed new tires on several of my cars, and I felt relatively good about the service. However, this time was different. I needed four new tire pressure sensors at a cost of over $800. I agreed because they had my trust. All four sensors were installed, but just a day later, the light on the dashboard came on. They admitted they needed more time to sync the four tire sensors to the control unit. One more trip resulted in what I thought was a successful syncing of the sensors with the unit. However, just a day later, the light came back on again. I took it back in, and they removed the four new tire pressure sensors and replaced them with other sensors. I was good to go...or so I thought...until the light came on again. It turns out, Acorn did not have the proper technology to sync the tires with the central unit, so they refunded my money (in 9-12 business days) and told me I would have to take the van to Toyota. I appreciated their honesty. However... Two days later, one of my front tires lost pressure at an alarming rate. I refilled and watched the pressure reduce further. I took the van back and found out the tire had a leaky valve stem. They replaced it and I was on my way. Now that I'm home for a few hours, I've checked the tire pressure, and all four - after spending three hours in a cold garage, are reading 40 PSI on all four tires. I'm done. Why, after telling the desk rep that all four tire pressures were all over the map, would all four be so out of whack? If you use Acorn, do so at your peril. I hate to say this, but my experience has been more than informative. I have to find a new tire source.
