The first time we came in I brought in a flat tire that unfortunately couldn't be repaired but Keith made every effort to get a replacement ordered ASAP. I like to do as much of my own auto work as possible, but sometimes the limits of working with hand tools and no lift require a trip to the shop. I ran into this while replacing my front rotors and pads recently. There were two bolts on each side I could not get to break loose. I called Keith's and after explaining the situation, they told me to bring it by, they would help get them off and replace them for $50 or less. I brought in my car and 30min or so later I was driving off with the new bolts in place. They likely spent more time getting the car in the air and a once over check of fluids than working on the bolts, but it's all the same to me. I was in and out in a timely fashion and they offered a fair price for the service. The friendly and professional service both over the phone and in person will lead me to recommend this to others. read more

They tried to rip me off. I took my car in for a routine oil change last week, and was stunned when I was given a long list of work that needed to be done on my car. The whole thing amounted to about $1200 with labor. Being a young woman and a new car owner I was unsure, but I'm glad I listened to my gut feeling and took it in for a second opinion at a different shop. The other shop told me that my car is in great shape, and the only thing I needed was a new cabin filter. I've heard horror stories about young women being taken advantage of by auto shops, but I've never actually seen it happen until now. I would go elsewhere if you don't want to be taken advantage of like this. read more

Moved to Oswego 19 months ago; needed work on my mini-van 16 months ago. Where to take it? not close to my previous service guy. Flyer in the mail from Keith's. One of the few 'best decisions' I made. A comfortable place to go with people focused on your problem. So, the van got repaired to my satisfaction with a labor/parts warranty unbelievable. Jump to today. Having a battery problem with the van to the headache level. It's intermittent and we know how difficult those are to repair. Result: van systems checked out; problem couldn't be identified; nothing to fix. BUT, not good enough for Keith. Can't let me live with this problem, so he came up with a work around which counteracts the problem to give me piece of mind. Now that is someone who is focused on true service and customer service. Recommended him to my sister-in-law who is also a satisfied customer. read more

I'm new to the area and I've been trying to find a spot where I can get an oil change at a good price. I'm used to a place that checks wiper blades, bulbs, filters, fluids, tires & even vacuum your floors for $19.99 and you're in and out in 15 minutes with no appointment needed. I have yet to find anywhere that comes close to what I'm used to but this place was still great. $55 to check bulbs, fluids, filters. I called first to see if I could swing by or had to make an appointment & I had to make an appointment for the following day. I got there a little early but waited nearly an hour past my scheduled appointment. Although that was slightly annoying, they were knowledgeable and personable so I will definitely return. Now I know I need to give some wiggle room in my day so I'm not stressed for time since it took a lot longer than I expected. read more

Talk about a garage taking advantage of a difficult situation. On Friday our ignition in our car locked up. We were within a mile from Keith's so my husband had them come get the car thinking it would be cheaper. It wasn't. Ok we can understand a minimum fee. By midday Monday we hadn't heard anything so we stopped in. They assured us it would be done by end of day but were very vague on any estimate. With anything else you can pick it up and take it elsewhere if they don't give you a reasonable estimate but another tow charge would be too much. What they said was it would be about $125. Per hour at about an hour plus parts. We looked on line and found the parts at anywhere from $8.28 up to $40. So we figured a total between $250. And $300. They didn't call to let us know it was done. I called them around 4:30 pm to see how late they were open or if we should expect to get it on Tuesday. They told me it was ready and that it would be $362.11. When you are hit with an unexpected expense and then it goes another $62. over your expected high end, you know they are taking advantage of you're situation. To add insult to injury they charged a rediculous and almost double retail price for higher end replacement ignition assembly. We looked it up at Advanced Auto Parts. However, the one they put in couldn't be keyed to our existing keys. So now we have to carry around 2 big keys that look exactly the same, one for the doors, glove box and console and another for the ignition. On top of that they only got one key and when I said something about that they told me to go to the hardware store and get another one made. Seriously for almost $400. I can't use the original key and have to get my own keys made. All the sets on line came with 2 keys and were way cheaper. Will be telling everyone we know not to make the same mistake we did. Every time I need something they are able to get me in and resolve the issue, and explain everything that they are doing, as well as complete a comprehensive review of the vehicle. Once the repairs are complete it is great to review what was done, as well as anything that was found to be recommended for service. New or old, little or small they have taken care of everything for me. Everything from simple oil change type maintenance to a custom engine getting installed to replace a blown engine in my jeep. My husband took his car in recently as something was wrong. They ran a diagnostic test on it and then called us with the details. This is where it goes bad. They said the part is in the engine and is pricey. But, that it's under warranty and we should take it into a Jeep dealership to have it fixed. They don't do work on it under warranty. We pick it up and they charged us a little under $300 I believe for the diagnostic test. This right there is not right. Why did they perform a test on something that they might not do work on in the 1st place? As a small business owner myself, this isn't right. We felt completely ripped off. The worst part is, we took it to the Jeep garage and it's NOT under warranty like they said and was charged another $700. I called Keith's back and was given a run around how garages do things differently and he can see how they might not consider that under warranty? We had been going to Keith's for the past 3 yrs against many of our friends/neighbors recommendation. They have all mentioned how they rip you off and over charge. This was the icing on the cake. What is most irritating is, why not offer a discount to a loyal and recurring customer when you know you didn't even fix anything? And, to give us wrong information leading us to take time out of our day, pick up the car, take it elsewhere and pay an addl $700 at your doing). I expected more when I called them back. But they did not budge. It was just a run around. We will unfortunately be taking our business elsewhere. This is my 1st review on yelp. I'm not in the business of talking bad about a local business. First time in 5 years. went online, found Keith's, on a Saturday.In and out , no fees and then they helped me sync my phone which even AT&T wouldn't even do. OMG. LOVE this place! Keith's Car Care told me they want $196 to diagnose my car problem. That is not including any type of repair. Both employees were on the phone when we went in. One was discussing tickets to a game, didn't acknowledge me, then finally got off the phone and told me about their diagnostic price in a cavalier way saying it could be a pump, or a belt, or a computer issue. Not helpful or reassuring about their competence at all! I told him thank you, and then we left. We called another shop in Oswego who actually seemed concerned and charge $55 to diagnose the problem. My family has taken our cars to Keith's for the last 13yrs. Keith has helped us in buying a used car. Today our 2010 needed an oil change and overall ck due to 75000mi on speedometer. They were prepared for my appt, had a loaner car and called me when they promised. It was bad news. It needed some extensive repairs. Sean advised the cost of the possible repairs. To sumarize, the techs are skilled, the Cust Svc consummate professionals, but most impressive is the honesty and everything they propose is documented with pictures and prices of parts that may be used. We were in need of towing at 1 o'clock in the morning after having an accident. We called Keith's Car Care because it was close to our home. We were very surprised when someone actually picked up on the other end rather than being sent to after-hours voicemail! Paul arrived to the scene about 20 minutes later and we were off and running. They got our car repaired within 24 hours at a very reasonable cost. We will be using Keith's for future car repair needs. I do have two minor complaints which explain the reason for why I am giving only a 4-star rating. 1) The rewards program: on the surface it seems very good - a $25 rewards certificate for every $300 spent. I recently had $1000 in repairs done and received 3 $25 certificates. Unfortunately, they all expire in about 3 months and cannot be used together. So it is very difficult to use all of them unless I schedule 3 different appointments back to back for different servicing needs, and 2) There was a $49.95 "Shop Supply" fee on my invoice separate from the parts and labor costs. They explained this is something they add to everyone's invoice to cover general overhead expenses related to supplies (sprays, lubricants, etc.) since they can't itemize every "spray". This is the first time I have ever encountered this. Typically I would expect these costs to be absorbed within parts and/or labor costs. All in all, great servicing. read more

Top notch service! Very large, clean shop and they obviously know their stuff. What's really nice is when something is wrong on your car that needs to be repaired, they take a pic of the part that's broken and give you a really detailed write up on what they did, VERY professional. Many people have primary care physicians for themselves. Doesn't it make sense to have the same personal care for your car. Someone who knows your vehicle inside and out? Someone who not only cares about your car but probably cares more about the person driving it! I have found that in all the employees at Keiths Car Care. Being a single mother, I find it hard to trust that I'm not being taken advantage of in a lot of businesses. But at Keiths, I can call on him-really at any time, with questions or concerns wether I need to bring my car in or not. I found my new mechanic for my '08 SUV. I needed brakes checked for vibration, and I found Keith's through an initial search online. Keith's staff inspected the car and even took photos of the vehicles' current state. The estimate for new rotors and lubricating the mechanisms was $200 less than the dealer. Keith also warrants the parts and labor for 5 years...my dealer's guarantee is only one year. So it was an easy decision to choose Keith's for the brake work. I was even provided a loaner car so I could go to work without having to wait for a separate ride. Keith and his staff were professional throughout the whole process. Suspect work. After brake job did not tighten lug nuts one tire, I had to immediately turn around due to a terrible noise from wheel (lug nuts were loose). Not truthful on rewards program. They do not allow use of multiple reward certificates even though when signing up they are explained as same as cash and can be combined. (If yo knew more details which would take too long to explain you will see its a bit snake oil salesmen stuff). After multiple trips, ultimately I do not think they are trustworthy. I will not be back. It is a combination of things, not just one thing. I just can't trust anything they say anymore. The prices are not very competitive either. read more

I called Keith's because I live in Oswego and I was stranded at the Meijer with my two young children. I freaked out because my vehicle wouldn't start. I called them, they came within 24 minutes from the time I hung up the phone. The lady that answered was very nice, told me they could try to jump the vehicle and it was going to be $45 and they would make sure me and my children were safely taken home. When Paul got there he tried the ignition and he actually started the vehicle!!! I am not crazy, my truck wasn't starting but he got it started. He said he had the magic touch. I was so grateful to Paul A: for starting the truck and B: for not charging me. Did I mention it was a holiday and it was raining! Thank you Paul for coming out. Dishonest as the day is long. For those of you that think your getting great service, you probably are, but you are paying the price. I brought my vehicle in for a power steering hose leak, the estimate was $525 which I knew was just too much. I picked up the car and brought it to a well established auto service business in Oswego who performed the same job for $195. So I say who's screwing who. I know, Keith is screwing you!! If we were willing to pay $800.00 for what you initially stated was wrong in the first place but then called and stated it was something else. Why on earth would we decline service to prevent the vehicle from running properly!! The vehicle was in your shop and we had no problem having all of the services rendered by you guys!! Who wants to keep moving their vehicle from shop to shop especially if the workmanship is great!! Which by the way yours is NOT!!!! Unbeknownst to me at that time!!!
