We thoroughly enjoyed our entire experience here at Keith's Oyster Bar at Cocoa Beach Pier! We were trying to go to The Pelican, but there was an hour wait. The kind hostess told us (just FYI) that there was no wait at Keith's. So we walked back down the pier, walked in and sat right down with no wait! Outdoor seating but wonderful breeze! It was so enjoyable! The Deep Fried Grouper Tenders were delicious-hot, flaky, flavorful. Everything was good: ale battered sidewinder fries, street corn, the fried shrimp basket was fantastic! We had a good experience here. I'm not a tourist but a Floridian who loves seafood. I noticed that the reviews for this restaurant weren't the greatest. So here's mine. We checked out the menu before hand and found exactly what we were looking for. They have a pretty good size bar that's the first restaurant on the pier. They also have plenty of tables around the bar area. Where we sat at the bar was unfortunately not cleaned off but not the biggest deal. We were greeted very nicely by a woman bartender who was very helpful with helping us decide on our drinks. Unfortunately, my boyfriend cannot drink orange juice or pineapple because of the citrus. She was wonderful and made a delicious concoction for him. We decided on the shrimp and lobster tater tot's and the seafood boil. After sitting at the bar under the shade for about 10 minutes, we got sick of listening to the hyper drunk girl a few seats over. We decided to move to one the corner tables in the sun instead. It was later afternoon so the sun was slowly dipping down so it's best to get what's left of the sun. The food did come out all at once and it blew my mind. I seriously didn't know where to start first, so went for the tater tots. The tater tots had this amazing seasoning and dressing and chunks of shrimp and lobster with a few other things scrambled around in that dish. Had a very hard time putting my fork down. The seafood boil- I don't know what seasoning they put over everything but it just was on unbelievably delicious. I really need to work on my adjectives because I'm having a hard time describing this amazing food. It came with crab legs, sausage, shrimp, potatoes and corn. For how much we paid for everything, we got a large amount of food that did not disappoint at all. The service was good and so was the food. In all the years that I have been visiting the (now "Westgate") Cocoa Beach Pier, Oh Shucks was never great... but never horrible either. It always depended on when you happened to be there. On some days you simply had to wait a bit longer than others for your food and drink. Especially on crowded weekends. In the end, what you got was generally decent (for me, it was mostly beer or cocktails, and wings). I'd always chalked it up as part of the "laid back beach culture experience." I figured, why sweat the small stuff when there's such a lovely body of water nearby? However, with all of the so-called "renovations" being done to the pier, this one already ranks right up there as one of its worst (I won't even get into the issues I have with the other planned renovations). Now called "Keith's Oyster Bar," this place should have been renamed "Oh Shucks... I'm sorry I forgot your food... again." My wife and I were two of only 10 people there (literally), and had to wait 30+ minutes for our grouper salads. The bartender, who was a bit of a nonchalant douchebag, kept claiming that the reason the salads were stuck in the kitchen was because they had "run out of balsamic dressing." Our agony was heightened by flat syrup that was coming out of the soda dispensers. Instead of politely offering us an alternative to our soft drinks, he muttered "well, you better start thinking of something else to drink then." What an A**HOLE! When the food eventually arrived, it was disgusting. A pre-packaged honk of crap-for-greens (carrots tasted old, and some lettuce leaves had rotting edges), with a dry, burnt piece of fish thrown on top... in a platic container no less!! And that excuse for balsamic dressing!? Let's just say it was "all oil, no vinegar." Gee... I could have done a far better job at home in under 15 minutes. All of this for $13?! No f*****g way. Clearly this was the product of a greedy timeshare company trying to undercut its customers and maximize profits. Westgate... please do right by this. Fast. read more

We ordered drinks and a coconut shrimp appetizer. Drinks were great, shrimp seemed as if they were fried from frozen. It was not busy but waitresses were running around like they were super busy. It did take a while for our drinks to arrive (15 minutes) but they were good. Manager stopped by our table to check on us, which was nice. Had some $9 onion rings, nothing to write home about. Server was slow, but they were a little busy, but they had enough servers to handle the all the people. The band is another story, it's July fourth weekend and the band is going strong. One the best reasons to stop, have a drink and cool/warm breeze while you listen to the band. If there is no band, I would come, there is almost no view of the beach from this place. It's close to the parking lot. Food is over-priced, hate when they think that the location is reason enough to over- charge. If there is a band then I think the ocean breeze and the music is enough to handle the food cost. read more

Soooo, last time we were here we couldn't get a server to come to our table the entire evening. We stayed anyhow because we were enjoying the band and went up to the bar whenever we wanted something to eat and drink. The bartender got a great tip. I don't know what the server's problem was. Tonight we had an awesome server and the band was great again, but the food was awful. How bad was it? Three times was the charm? Nope. Ordered a pound of buttered shrimp, corn on the cob and potatoes and they arrived with what looked like rust colored paste all over everything. What the heck? They said it was "Cajun butter." No thanks, sent it back without touching it. Second time it came out with the more normal garlic butter, but when we started to eat we found that the shrimp were half raw and the corn was cold. The third time, it was cold corn and overcooked shrimp. Gave up. Husband ate the shrimp. I'm still hungry. Sigh.... folks, this isn't rocket science. read more

I will start with the positive. The band that played 8/12/2017 was absolutely amazing. I'm not sure if they are there often but if I ever come back it would only be to see them. Absolutely amazing! Food and beverage was not good at all. Our sever was horrible and forgot all about us a few times. Let me start with the Oysters. When I asked our waitress about the Oysters she had no idea how to answer my questions. She had no idea what region they were from. Since they only had one type, I figured she should be able to tell me what they taste like, but nope. After discovering she didn't know what region, I started to ask about the taste and perhaps I could identify what region they were from by her description. She looked at me and said I have no idea what you are talking about. At that point I decided to go with a half dozen just in case they were horrible. When they arrived, not surprised; absolutely disgusting. Small, no taste, and barely any oyster inside the shells. Our food arrived 10 minutes apart from each other. As I sat and ate my boyfriend was waiting on the crab and shrimp boil. I had onion rings with my Oysters. The onion rings were cold. All of this food was dropped in the bucket and then the seasoning was thrown on top. I wanted to discuss the quality of food and beverage with my waitress but she never came back. Finally she returned about 45 minutes later, but proceeded to walk past us and then turned around and said "oh yeah." Oh yeah you forgot about us ma'am. No refills or anything. I'm glad we only spent 60 bucks, but we were willing to spend a lot more had the experience and food been better. If i could give negative stars i would. Literally the worst experience I've ever had. No one came by to give us menus for 15 minutes which should have given us a clue about the rest of the experience. It took 40 minutes to get us our drinks after that-- which were extremely simple between three people. Our waiter was rude and didn't acknowledge us the entire time. There was no apology for having us wait for three drinks and a single appetizer for 40 minutes. They don't put alcohol in their daiquiris then argue with you about the alcohol content. I really expected better for a restaurant on the cocoa beach Pier. Food was good, but the service was abysmal. Just because you'll automatically charge us 18% tip on a party 6 or more doesn't mean you don't have to give us at least par service. We waited 20 minutes before we could even get our drink order in and the waitress seemed like she was annoyed from the start. We hardly ever got checked on and even had to approach other waiters for service. Then when we did receive anything the staff would just run away. When the bill finally came the waitress didn't even know what we had. So we worked with her and she comes back and even THAT was completely wrong. We told the manager that we had a really bad experience and they couldn't care less. Didn't even apologize. I think they are really more concerned with just turned out service for out of towners they know they won't be seeing again. Won't see me again either. read more

WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! I've never left a one-star review, but this place deserved it. On a Thursday during cruise season, we stopped in for lunch for a day at the beach. After finding a table (vulture-style, as there's no hostess), we waited 20 minutes to be waited on. We ordered food immediately, and were informed the kitchen was running behind and it would take about 45 minutes (even just for a bag of chips). It took over 75 minutes to finally get our food, which was fine, but not great. Drinks were decently fast at the bar (if you could get the one bartenders attention), but they were VERY weak. The second round was even worse almost no alcohol in the drinks at all. Forget this place. EDIT: Gave us a round of drinks and an appetizer for our wait (plus two stars). Corona light on tap (apparently this is not weird for Florida, but in Austin it's unheard of, and it's my favorite crappy beer), friendly bartenders and servers who didn't mind us taking up their table for hours just ordering beers and watching the ocean with sore legs after the marathon. Their menu looked pretty typical of the pier fare, and our friends got some food and seemed to enjoy it. I'm running the same marathon this year coming up and I'm pretty sure I'll be resting my tired legs and refueling liquid carbs after here. :) read more

Medicore restaurant for the area. They used to have great oysters and bucket beer specials....but not any more, they keep raising prices. There are more options for food on the pier for the money. I'm not a huge fan of plastic chairs and sandy floors unless I am wet and dirty from the beach. If not, I recommend sitting at the bar. read more

Food was very basic oceanside stuff. I ordered the peel and eat shrimp which..can't really mess up unless you the shrimps were old, which they were not. It was a decent place for us to get a bite in and for me to take advantage of super cheap and strong drinks, ( the specialty drinks weren't mixed with ' house' vodka so that was a nice surprise.) I vaguely remember really liking a blueberry something or other. Anyway..we were sandy and hungry and it was within proximity after laying on the beach and already a bit buzzed so...y'know Also if you're a minority you're going to stick out like a sore thumb. My fried shrimp was perfectly cooked and the fries were crispy on the outside while providing good potato flavor inside. My niece's salad was fresh and brimming with veggies. Upon entering the entrance downstairs by the pier it seemed very confusing to me whether or not we seat ourselves or do we have a hostess seat us? Don't know.. waited for like 5 minutes and finally asked one of the busy waitresses running around. I finally discovered by the waitress that we must seat ourselves. We liked a certain table which was dirty and I asked one of the waitresses to clean our table. She said to give me a couple of minutes. My wife then asked another waitress to clean our table and she complied quickly. Finally! OK we are seated.....and we wait....and wait....and wait to be serviced...and nothing....Finally, the bartender came to the rescue! Which is smart because the bar was completely slow and he was helping all the people not being helped by the waitresses. Finally , we ordered our food and drinks. I ordered the coconut battered shrimp and a dozen oysters, and crab seafood dip with chips. Food was pretty good, nothing was really worth it at the end. Well except, I guess, an ok "pier type" vibe, whatever that is suppose to mean. Other than that I am not ever coming back to this establishment. Which they don't care because they have machine of people coming in buying food because of all the traffic for the pier and public beach access. The restaurant has to hire more servers and decrease the pricing, its really not worth it. We paid $80 for some food and drinks and left hungry. read more

We stayed at the nearby Best Western Hotel, and went to the Pier every day. In January it was the low season for tourists I believe. Keith's Oyster Bar only opened on weekends. We had only chance on Friday night to eat there. We had been lucky. The raw oysters were fantastic and very affordable. The steamed clams were outstanding too. The seafood basket was one of a kind. I really should do checked the reviews before coming here. The service was absolutely horrible. I asked for a drink and it wasn't what I wanted. I had to ask her 3 times for the drink and had to explain to her on how to make it. I had the crab cake on a bun on the menu it says toasted bun with butter but nope all I got was a cold crab cake no butter and old lettuce. And the fries where cold like if they just sit in the back. The band was good but that's about it. The waiter couldn't even get me the right water I asked for club soda she brought regular water. The other waiter was on the phone on the floor. Just had a bad experience at Keith's today, went in for the seafood boil and waited a while for menus after the the sign said seat yourself! Got the menus and finally ordered, I was excited for the crab legs because I am a seafood lover, we waited and hour and the boil came out cold and over cooked!! In addition I received one cluster but it was very small. After I told the waitress that is was cold and over cooked she warmed it( I assume in the microwave) I thought I was going to receive a new fresh Custer but that wasn't the case. I was so disappointed I called the manager over and I told him what the issue was, he was very kind to us but at that point I really didn't want more food from the restaurant! He did take the meal off of my bill which was nice. Over all it was a very disappointing experience the waitress had to be new. Her service was unacceptable!! Like most all of the other reviewers here, my main complaint was the service. The server was not friendly and it took over 30 minutes for our food to come out. We ordered several appetizers to share. The oysters were fair, while the onion rings, chicken wings, shrimp (coconut and boiled), and fries were great. The crab legs were pretty awful; old and fishy. The manager was present but might as well not have been there. She didn't check on our table at all which is surprising considering how long we waited without food. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone visiting the peer area. Plenty of other choices close by. read more

Good faster food. Go here for the ocean beach view. Fried clam strips and steamed shrimp were tasty. Worth a try if you are in the area.
