During our camping trip in Guribaldi, we dined at Kellys Place twice and we rarely eat out. The food, setting, and service were all great. We were there for breakfast and I had the blueberry buckwheat pancakes which were awesome. My husbands breakfast had a large piece of ham. I can only speak to the clam chowder as we were staying in town and just picked some up to go on a Friday night. I didn't think it had much flavor to it and have certainly had better....while there aren't a lot of options in Garibaldi we will probably try some place else next time. read more

We have a girls night once a month in Rockaway and always come here the next morning for a huge greasy hangover breakfast! They have fried bread with honey butter that is pretty frickin' amazing! Their Omelettes are really good and the pancakes are light and fluffy. I don't know what I look forward to more, girls night or the morning after breakfast at Kelly's. read more

Look it's just a diner.....no haute cuisine here. But the service was very pleasant without being intrusive (which seems the usual custom...always at your table, babbling away...) and the egg dishes are very good. Yes it's a bit greasy.......but it's affordable and edible. read more

Kelley's Place is clean, with service that is pleasant in every way. The food is typical of Middle America: fried fish, chicken, and shrimp; mashed potatoes with gravy that may be from a jar; vegetables cooked until limp; clam chowder so thick your spoon stands up in it; breakfast all day. If that is what you're hankering after, I certainly recommend Kelley's Place. We found our dinner tasty, though I do prefer my vegetables (and bread) more crisp. Kelley's also has a small but good beer and wine selection. They may serve liquor, too -- they run an attached Lounge. I didn't ask. And YES, Autumn is just wonderful. read more

Meh is right. Stopped here for a quick lunch on a weekday. We were early, about 11:00, and when we walked in were the only customers on the restaurant side. My wife likes breakfast for lunch, so she was pleased that they had breakfast all day. I started with clam chowder, which was OK. A little on the creamy side for me and not a lot of clams, but tasty. I then tried the patty melt. Again, nothing really wrong with it, other than the fact that the little round hamburger patty looked kind of lonely on the big piece of rye bread. The meat only covered about the middle third of the bread. My wife had the chicken fried steak and again, OK but nothing wonderful. The gravy on the meat looked just like the clam chowder. Hmmmm. I just thought the food was, at best, industrial in nature. Simple, plain, moderately priced and nothing special. read more

This place was great. Our server Autumn was great. Even tho it seemed she was swamped and didn't have any help, she did a great job & was always smilin'. There are several places that we could have gotten fish 'n chips, however we chose this place and we are most def happy we did. Staying up the street, considering going back 4 breakfast. Solid local greasy spoon with a fistful of clear favorites. While everything we tried in our 2 visits during a week in Garibaldi was perfectly satisfactory, the buckwheat pancakes, chicken fried steak, clam chowder, fish & chips, split pea soup were especially good and would warrant a return visit. The side of fruit salad was delightfully fresh, varied, and plentiful as well --a far cry from the typical diner lackluster half cup of canteloupe & grapes. read more

I absolutely love Kelleys Place! They have the BEST cheeseburgers and the best customer service! The bartenders are so attentive and before our drinks are empty they are already pouring us another! I came into Kelley's Place after finding that most things were closed up as early as 7 in the evening during the off-season at the coast. Most places that were open seemed to cater to a tavern crowd. That's fine if you're looking to drink, but not if you're looking for a quiet, sit-down meal. The restaurant is simple but very clean and the staff is very attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The food ranges from breakfast and traditional diner fare to fresh seafood. I have been there several times over the past two years during the tourist season and off-season and found things to be consistent and well worth coming back for. They have good specials and great pricing. I will certainly be back the next time I am in the area. read more

The signage out front isn't very clear about hours of operation which is why, despite being right next to our motel, we commuted to Tillamook for breakfast at Denny's the 1st morning of our vacation. Once we figured out the place was open (their morning rush was happening before we got up), we ate at Kelley's the rest of our stay. Our waitress was quick and friendly. The decor is minimal, but the place is clean. The food is a cut above. It's simple Americana, but done very well. The milk & sausage gravy was the best I've ever had. Everything we tried - chicken fried steak, buckwheat pancakes, bacon, eggs, biscuits & gravy, french toast - was excellent. To sum up: great food, great service, great prices, mediocre decor, poor exterior signage. read more

Kelley and several of her staff catered my daughter's wedding in Rockaway in July. Kelley was great to work with, having to make changes and modifications, she had suggestions for me that were very helpful, and I found it very affordable having done a bit of research! Everyone complimented the food, particularly the salmon and "wraps". I went in this morning (6/29/15) I was helped by an amazing guy who was very attentive to his job, he had let me know that it was his first day there, but he what he was doing and how to please his customers, I was very impressed by him. He was very personable and made it a good way to start out the day! I would definitely go back again since I know that he works there, I fully intend to come back from Hillsboro just for the service and food, the eggs Benedict that I had this morning was the best that I have ever had! Mom lives in Bay City and so we have been known to frequent Kelley's once in a while. This was the last once in a while for us! Service...poor young girl didn't have a chance. She was the only one servicing the restaurant and the cook wasn't doing her any favors. My mom's bacon was medium rare and her French toast had a huge ring of egg around it where they didn't tap the toast before putting it on the grill. I didn't get my bacon at all and my buckwheat blueberry pancakes were over done around one inch of the edge and the middles had holes in them because they weren't done.. My husband ordered the corned beef hash and it looked like boiled potatoes that had been smashed and loaded on his plate...never touched the grill.. You could see the owner, Kelley in the back doing dishes and servicing the bar...she wasn't worried about the full dining room.. A couple of tables went out to their car and got their own creamer...and we all poured our own coffee.. She lost a few customers that day... read more

Valentines Day was the worst experience ever! When we walked in we had to wait about 10 minuntes or so, we were the only ones waiting. We could tell that the waitress was confused about what ticket belonged to which table. That should have been a red flag right there. When we were seated, it took about 15 to 20 minutes for my husband to get a cup of coffee another 45 min. when we finally got our clam chowder and almost 2 and half hours before we got our meal. We would have left, but we just kept thinking that the meal had to be coming soon. While we waited, they would bring out a meal, but take it to the wrong table and then asked other people if that was their meal. The table next to us had already eaten their meal, but they brought out the same meal to them again, which they had to tell them that they already had that. These are just a few examples of our experience, but this went on and on. By the time we finally finished, it was just under 3 hours. I felt sorry for our waitress, she was constantly saying to everyone how sorry she was that the meals were taking so long and putting up with other peoples' wrath. She told us that the cook only works on one ticket at a time, being a former restrurant owner myself I can tell you that doesn't work. Out of pitty, I left her a tip. As far as the food, it was ok, the clam chowder was very good, but there are many places in Tillamook County that are so much better. Living in Tillamook County most of my life, I've been to almost every restaurant and this was the first time with this new owner. We won't be back unless I hear of a great improvement.
