Coming up to Christmas we always like visiting here because the decorations are superb - especially the upside down Christmas trees hanging from the ceiling. Cozy fireplace, lovely ambience, great food and service with a tinge of real Irish. No wonder we keep coming back! read more

I always enjoy coming to Kell's. It's a special treat to relax and partake in Irish food with a Guinness or as yummy cocktail. Kell's is pretty consistent and one of my go-to places for comfort food. It's usually pretty fast to get a seat and, though the service wasn't great this last time, it's usually pretty good. As a pescatarian, I normally gravitate toward the fish and chips (though I do with this location had the Irish nachos like the one on 2nd because those are amazing) and I enjoy a Kell's Old Fashioned. This time I went with a whiskey and ginger beer drink from their specials that I can't remember the name of. While it was good, I'll stick to my usual next time. It's a great place to get drinks with friends, have a relaxing night out, or if there's a game going they can put it up on the TVs so you can watch and sip a beer. I have been coming to Kells for years and it's always been a phenomenal bar with amazing food. However, I ordered the wedge salad today and it compelled me to redownload this app and give Kells a 5 star rating. Perfect portion size with fresh and delicious ingredients. Also must try the BBQ wings and the Kells Reuben. Insanely good food with impeccable service. Best customer service in Portland! Stopped in for a bite to eat and a beer and was delighted with the whole place. This place has the aesthetic of a classic Irish pub, lots of outdoor seating and great food and great beer. I tried the fries and the sausage roll and both were delicious and perfect portion size. I also tried out the Kells Lager, which will bite you a little at first but it makes up for it later, and the Kells Red which was soooo good. It's been some time since I had been to an indoor dining establishment that has had live music. It feels like it's been years. Oh yeah.... It has :( It was a busy night on this Friday evening. Guitarist at the stage and a line at the bar. It took a few minutes to get sat as there wasn't a sign if we were suppose to wait or seat ourselves. I've been here a few times but probably don't come here as often as I would like. I enjoy the atmosphere which is pretty chill. The service is friendly and super available. I love how cozy the place is and the great decor. Their beer is great. I'm one of those hop heads that has hopped himself almost into oblivion, and I was suspect I would find beer here that I would like. However, I regained my romance with the ESB and stout here. Their ESB is especially amazing. Best craft US one I've had! I didn't really like their fresh Hop one but had it anyway due to my fresh hop fanaticism. This is a very cool Irish Brewery and Pub. I came in here during happy hour and enjoyed a couple of lagers and some eats. I had the boneless whiskey wings for $5 and the Irish nachos at $5 as well if I remember correctly. The crisp lagers were only $4 a pop. The lager was quite refreshing on the warm evening I visited, and the boneless wings tasty. They were a little over sauced for my taste, but the whiskey sauce was very good. The white chicken meat inside was tender and the breading crunchy. The Irish nachos were not what I actually expected, being that they were house made potato chips rather than potato skins, but they were tasty. The chips were well made and seasoned. They had a good crispiness about them. They came topped with sour cream, black olives, chopped tomatoes, green onions, melted cheese, and red onions. The only thing missing from these chips were some chopped bacon! Where's was the bacon peeps? I recommend they put some on. Service was pretty standard. It was friendly and not rushed, but I did have to flag down the fellow to pay our bill which was no big issue. read more

The BoH knocked it out of the park, and FoH was super pleasant to talk to. Ambiance was outstanding as always, and food was spectacular.

3 of us went and LOVED it. The shepherds pie is PERFECT! Going back just for that! The lamb stew was OK, more more soup than stew since it had more of a broth base. We had an apple crumble that was completely smothered in cream, so it lost its "crumble", but it tasted good. Came here last night (Friday) not knowing what to expect.. When we first walked in, we were greeted by the hostess who told us we can pick anywhere we'd like to sit and there was a live guitarist. Sat down at a table then ordered some food and drinks. First off, the live guitarist - Jordan Harris (@jordanceharris) was amazingggg! His guitar playing skills, humor, and voice! #hearteyes. The place wasn't too packed and the audience was awesome. Bartenders seemed to be fun too. We ended up staying here a little longer than planned because he was so good! I wish we had a bar/lounge like this in SF lol. This Irish bar had a good selection of beer. I'm not much of a beer drinker, so I opted for the usual cider (they only had Magners). Service was nice. They also serve food. We ordered the boneless whiskey wings ($10) and Salmon melt. Boneless whiskey wings came with a good amount and they were AMAZING. Definitely recommend it! When Jordan walked by us, he got a whiff on the smell and said it smelled good too! Salmon melt was delicious as well, but it was an open-faced sandwich. Still good. Love this bar. The fish and chips is where it's at. WOW. We demolished a large portion. The fish was delicate and delicious. The homemade tartar sauce was some of the best that I've ever had. The chips (fries) were really good too. To drink we had an Irish stout and an IPA. Both pretty solid. Service was extremely attentive and provided clean plates between app and meal. The crowd is always just enough and great, and the service is excellent. And while they are famed for their brews (this location being the actual brewery), they also have an excellent selection of irish whiskey and last but not least - amazing food. A short but carefully selected list of appetizers, mains and sandwiches - we've pretty much tried everything here and the food is the biggest triumph calling us back here time and time again. My friend who was visiting from out of town was craving beef stew after being out in the cold rain all day. I wasn't sure where we could go but she found this location and so we decided to check it out. We called in the order while driving in and when we got there we just had a few more minutes to wait. We spoke to the owner who was incredibly nice. The inside of this location was decorated for Christmas and it was so super pretty! I felt like I was in a Hallmark movie. It was well done and not cheesy at all. I ended up ordering the shepherds pie. We took them home to enjoy with beers we already had on hand. Both my friend and I were more than pleased with our orders. I definitely could use that again on a snowy day like today! So we were downtown and found the bigger Kelly's there was closed. So we made the short drive to the uptown location. Parking can be an issue if you are a visitor (park around the corner at Fred Myers). This place is small but has an amazing bar inside and great seating outside. Beers were so good Irish Red Ale amazing. Food off the charts good. They put a lot of effort into the food. I was nervous at first as there was only one person working as hostess and server. I went to grab a bite to eat. I went to use the bathroom and I tripped over something as it's really dark. Look at the photos others have posted you can't see the floor. So I'm unconscious and the next thing I know I have people grabbing at me, pushing me out of the restaurant and telling me to get up and walk. I'm bleeding. I feel like I don't know what happened. They just are dragging me. I hear the manager say get her out of here put her in an Uber get her out . I'm thinking my car is in the parking lot. Why are you trying to call me an Uber? I was looking for my sun glasses they were on my head & now broken. I can't find the pieces. I'm feeling my mouth it's bleeding a lot. My front tooth is broken. My mouth hurts. I'm bleeding blood coming out of my nose. I'm skinned up. They're being very belligerent to me. Instead of getting me an ambulance they pretty much kick me out charge me for the food I never got. They didn't even give me my parts to my glasses so I can't get them fixed. I had just got there and I wasn't drinking alcohol of any kind before I got there or while I was there so wasn't like I'm at all the way intoxicated. I just wanted to go to the bathroom and eat my food and leave just in and out. But no they were not nice when it was their fault by not keeping the isle clear. What's worst is the rude way to say over and over get her outta here and set me at a table outside. I can't even move I've just been knocked unconscious. Why didn't they get me an ambulance instead of dragging me across the concrete outside just skinned my knee up? That wasn't pleasant of them to do that either. I don't know about you. I just wouldn't support a company that doesn't give a shit about people unless they're taking their money and they took my money didn't give me my food in the I tripped over and they dragged me hurting me worse I wanted to do nothing more than kick me out. I call that very good group of people. I won't ever go back to that place. Let's hope that if you decide to go there you never get harmed never have an emergency. That's why they call them emergencies, but I hope you never have one because I won't call an ambulance. You could be having a heart attack ortrip & fall over something and they won't call 911 they'll throw you in the street and charge your card. I read any other place would've called an ambulance and not just picked her person up and drag him across the concrete outside and stepeatdedly say "get her outta here." Not nice people. What if I was your grandma I'm 58 yrs old. What if ai was your mother or your aunt or your beloved sister? The person you really loved and they just dragged the out of the r restaurant bleeding and disoriented and in pain and all you could hear was get that person out of here. Get him an Uber. And they were being kind about it. They weren't being nice about it. They just wanted me gone. Just wanted to charge my card which they did. They didn't wanna make sure I had my stuff. My glasses were broke they were my sunglasses but they were $300 Maui Jim's one of my favorite pair. They didn't care. They let me bleed on the sidewalk after dragging me while I was just coming to and crying because they are hurting me. It was awful. Choose another place to eat and dine where people care about the customer not just about making a buck. Find a restaurant where you want trip over or whatever it was in the walkway it was very dark so they should make sure to keep the isles clear. So go to place that keeps tiles clear and cares about their patrons not just about making a buck. They didn't give me the food, but they charge before so at the very least they should've given me to go order, but it just really basically ripped me off on top of hurting me.. I hope the owner hears of this and hires a better staff of people. They think they'll never go out of business. I wasn't the right person. they did this too, but if I would've been the head of Nike or some prestigious person they would be dealt with in a legal manner and rest assured it wouldn't happen again. If you do go there buyer beware that you don't innocently walk to the bathroom and the next thing you know is your waking up to being dragged across the concrete feeling pain from the guys dragging you and the scraping of your skin on the sidewalk I had shorts on. Now you're barely awake and you hear 1 guy rudely barking to get you outta here. When you feel you need an ambulances I drove myself to the ER and thank God I was alert enough to do it. Look at the pics others took of inside the pub and you'll see how dark it is. And I went in while it was light outside and they were dragging me out while it was light outside but didn't help me. It was awful. I'm in worse pain because they dragged me. I could give them no stars I would. Eat at another place. You'll be safer. read more

These guys are a nice mix of neighborhood watering hole, local brewhouse, and full bar. In a city with breweries that have international reputations, these guys aren't the most famous around, but they are very cool. They clearly work the Irish pub theme. Comfy chairs, some old wood and brick showing. They have cool beer signs and big mirrors up; it has that just-cluttered-enough feeling that places get when they want to feel well-worn. These guys might actually be well-worn for all I know; I do know it's comfortable and welcoming in here. There's a brewhouse down at the end, on the other side of a glass wall. Decent-sized system. There's a big wall of whiskies on the left--scotches and bourbons along with Irishes and blends. Full gamut. Staff is nice, prices are fine. The beers are solid and drinkable. This would be a really decent spot to hang out with friends for a session. We didn't watch a game or eat food, but we all felt like we would come back if we just needed a good spot to relax and shoot the breeze. read more

Came in this afternoon, on a Sunday, and the place was really relaxing. I had a delicious beet salad, and a huge plate of fries that I shared with the table. My colleagues had BLT, shepherds pie, and salmon plate. I had a cider and my colleague had a stout. They have Coca-Cola products, which we were glad for. It was a great location in the middle of a Sunday afternoon. I would highly recommend coming. Lots of table space. Really relaxing environment.
