Corned beef platter : dried beef with potato and cabbage that looked and tasted like it was made weeks ago. Kelly's chicken sandwich : may be the worst thing we ever tasted. Kelly's is one of the best places to eat at the Jersey Shore. Generous Portions for decent prices...very good service minus the absurd short sleeve whites but tradition rules. Kelly's is the best. They have the best wings EVER. Grilled Buffalo wings ON THE BONE... you won't be disappointed. That's all I ever order, but I know my friends order other things and they enjoy them. Their fries leave a little something to be desired. Seriously, I used to go to this Jersey Shore classic in my 20's. On a visit to the East Coast, and propelled by an insatiable desire for a great Rubin (not so easy on the West Coast) I thought I'd see if Kelly's was still around. YAY! they are and nothing of importance has changed (I think the same customers are still there, a bet a tad older.) I love the fellow who took our order; a classic no nonsense dry humour Jersey gentleman, who delivered the oversized, just as I remembered it delicious Reuben. Great atmosphere, outdoor seating, good music, lots of people. Food is solidly average, their corned beef was salty and dry. I suppose that makes it authentic. Great place for after the beach if you want locals, cheap food and don't expect fine dining. I will definately come back. read more

This is my favorite place at the Jersey Shore! The Rueben is the greatest I've ever had!! The outside patio on a warm day is a great place to grab a few cold beers and meet new friends. Been going to Kelly's for 5 years. It's my favorite 19th Hole after a round of golf. Prices are not cheap, usually in the $50 range for two people, but the food is usually very good and the service is always excellent. I'm partial to the rib eye, chili, calamari, crab legs, and the rueben - mostly comfort foods. read more

This is a good place for standard pub fare. Its safe to take a group with picky tastes as the menu is diverse. I ate here with my brother to eat a reuben but should have went to a good old jersey diner. Too much cheese and not enough bread. It was pretty good. The only problems I had was the cleanliness and the service. The cleanliness could be improved a lot, for example there was barf all over in the bathroom, and I saw dust hanging off the ceiling when I walked in. The service was nice when I walked in, but our waiter had a snippy attitude toward us. Also, I went on St. Patrick's day, so it was packed, as I expected. So that explains the vomit in the bathroom, but for the whole time no one cleaned it up. the awesome thing about this place though is the corned beef, it is SOOO GOOD especially with the thousand island sauce with it. . So that itself gave it three stars. Overall it was decent. But if you come, I highly highly highly recommend the corned beef, you will not be disappointed. read more

Disappointing at best~ been an off and on patron for some 20 years i wonder how the food has taken such a downhill slide- soups ordered by both in our party were salty to the point of having a burning effect (perhaps to dull the 'food' that followed) My companion ordered the turkey platter which was a huge portion with all the trimmings an they seemed quite satisfied with that. My entree was the fish & chips which i was expecting (as it always had been; FRESH) 2 issues; cutting into the portion of fish i discovered a hair cooked into the coating of the fish, upon bringing to our servers attention he stated: oh that's not us we get it FROZEN???? The server did apologize profusely and asked if i had another choice. I ordered the broiled scallops, which came out rather quickly, did not contain any hair, but was of no better quality than the previous dish. The scallops had also obviously been frozen, were maybe boiled (not broiled; as there certainly was no sear) and sprinkled with paprika, opaque but not truly cooked through. Kelly's being a touted Irish Pub @ the Jersey shore delivered neither decent traditional fare or fresh seafood as one would expect. read more

It's bar food order a burger or something casual. Is this blasphemous?.......After all Kelly's is a Jersey Shore landmark, a true generational icon. Locals don't need to read about it on Yelp. For non locals - if you are looking to hang at great bar for beers, or cocktails, Kelly's is major league good. The food is a disaster though and sometimes embarrassing. Witness a recent visit where my wife and I ordered grilled chicken wings, only to be served 3 day old, pre fried wings, thrown on the grill to create a few grill marks. It's nice to see a restaurant stand up for ALL their guests rather than kowtowing to the loudest and most obnoxious ones. That screaming brat on Sunday deserved to be kicked out. I've lived in the area for over 30 years and have gone to this sore excuse for an Irish pub many times. THE FOOD BLOWS!! They pride themselves on their Reuben. This gross pile of crap is microwaved and covered with the cheapest cut of meat and cheese available on the cheap ordering list of their food distributor. They are prepared on a Monday morning, so if you head there on a Saturday, it's been sitting for 6 days. The rest of the food is of extreme cheap quality. I feel like I'm at the Irish version of McDonalds when I'm there, food served in a basket with the Kelly's logo on wax paper with enough grease to spike your hair and oil to run your car.Drinks are expensive and they will give you a pint glass that costs $8 for one shot of booze; it will cost about $32 just to get a buzz, plus the waitstaff acts like they are doing you a favor when serving you. And if you like a cave man environment; dark cave-like bar area with loud drunk men screaming at the tv over sports they were never good at in their lives; this may be good for you. But for me, I like a friendly environment with good food and drinks not food that sends me to their unkept and disgusting bathroom to have ass vomit for a half hour and not drinks that are over-priced that may give me a buzz after 4 and 30$ later. I really can't figure out the allure of this place... It is always packed. We stopped in last night to catch the end of the Jets game. We grabbed a pint which was $4.50 and a mediocre french onion soup. It's right up the street from our house and I really want to like this place, but nothing about it talks to me. Average patrons, average food and no great deals.. If I want to pay $4.50 for a domestic draft I'll head to Darcy's. At least the crowd is a bit interesting. read more

THE place to go for ruebens! Huge, they must use a pound of cheese on each one.................the mini rueben is the perfect size for one person. You can get it with coleslaw instead of sauerkraut if you prefer. Really good nachos here.............above average pub food. read more

I stopped in to have a quick drink with some coworkers and we ended up staying for dinner (even though we'd planned to go somewhere else) because the food on the next table over smelled so great...nice friendly atmosphere and the specials were really good.
