Shopping in Westchester, California…read more.. Because there's no Trader Joe's in Hawaii, I usually make it a point to stop by when I'm on the mainland (Continental USA). This time, it was my first stop after getting the rental car. I needed breakfast, had to use the restroom, and wanted to get some gifts. All tasks were accomplished! I got some apples, snacks, hummus veggie wrap, summer rolls, frozen kimbap, and an insulated tote bag to haul them to my car! Thanks for the clean environment, well-stocked store, and friendly, helpful service! We even found the store mascot, Iggy, and got a prize! It was a productive visit!

We need to have a real talk about beef at Trader Joe's. Maybe it's just this location, but I've…read morebeen finding similar trash at others now too. Clearly not butchered well nor stored well. Any time you see beef with jagged edges and high fat around it, it was either cut but a blind butcher or intentionally done this way to sell you shit at high prices. Also, beef should be red - not light pink, and most of their shelves are filled with light pink garbage. Lastly, when beef has the consistency of playdoh, it is either not the cut they are labeling it as (filet in this case), or it has been frozen and thawed, poorly stored and mishandled during transport along the way. Filet should be a deep ted, cut round (not damn near heart shaped) and firm to the touch. The last 12 visits we have tried and tested their filet - and every time it can be flatted by lightly pushing with your hand. You can literally stretch it like dough. Gross. Disgusting and a complete intentional rip-off. I've heard local news reporters are now working on a story about this, so I hope they expose Trader Joe's as well as this is robbery given the prices of beef these days. We are running out of good grocery options locally. Every major chain has shifted to grifting the consumer and ripping us off at every turn. Do better!

The section with the holiday specials looked like a Ross on opening day, with most of the merchandise on the ground. Maybe it's because I went during the holidays, but it was a little miserable visiting this location. They had holiday stuff that you'd find at a Ross or a dollar store, but not the cool weird items you could find on a weekday when everything is replenished. Too bad, but maybe comin during the day when it's well stocked makes for a better experience.

Their check out stand staffs are NOTORIOUSLY rude, almost every single one of them, like you owe them thousands of dollars. Unlike other supermarket, NEVER hi, how ya doing? or Did you find everything you need? But always the pissy faces and attitude. The prices are higher than other stores, and a lot of time I bought strawberries without checking the bottom, they I went there tonight around 9p, there was one staff at the self check out stand. When I scanned my items, the dog food was advertised $2 off and limited to 2, but the scanner didn't deduct the discount. I asked that female staff: " The price on the shelf says $2 off, and limited 2, but the scanner didn't reflect the discount." An employee with long braids she blank stared at me for a couple seconds, then shouted, with a smirk on her face, then shouted "you must have the wrong items then" turned her back and walked away without offering any help or saying a word!! That nasty attitude is so well known at this Vons location. I asked for her name, she almost ran, trying to hide her name tag. If she was doing her job so perfectly, why was she so scared I would see her name tag and had to ran? Maybe she's already had too many complaints about her nasty attitude to customers??!! ALWAYS, NEVER FAIL, nasty customer service attitude, over priced products compared to Ralphs, fresh produce especially berries, 8 out of 10 times are rotten already but still on the shelf. Parking is extremely hard to find because over flow of street parking dominate the parking lot. If there's a Ralph right next door, this Vons location would be a ghost town. But the nearest other supermarket is in El Segundo or Playa Vista!! I pray God PLEASE let there be another supermarket open near this location!!!! From now on, I will drive 3 more miles to Ralphs even though this Vons location is 3 minutes walk from me to spare me these crazy nasty staff every time and to be treated with normal human decency!!!

I walked in out of the rain and the place was clean, bright, and felt welcoming. There were kids there having fun, families shopping, and the overall atmosphere was positive. Everybody I interacted with was friendly. From the moment I walked in it was, "Hey, how can I help you." When I went up to the line, the service was on point and people were moving with a sense of purpose, even with the bad weather outside. I just want to reconfirm my five stars for this location.
