Great place to buy a new car. Finally, a new car dealership and sales staff that gets it! During April 2014, my wife and I purchased two new Honda Accords from Ken Garff Riverdale Utah. We only intended to buy one, however an inattentive driver slammed into the back of our new Honda while we were stopped at a red traffic light, creating a need to replace it with another. My wife and I were very appreciative that we were in our new Honda Accord, with the 5 Star Safety Rating, on the day of the accident. We both remarked that we believe we would have suffered extensive injury had the Accord not protected us as well as it did. Our original sales team consisting of Tyler Briscoe, David Jacoby and Isaac Maw were so helpful, professional, honest and efficient with the process of purchasing our first new Accord that when the first was wrecked in the accident, there was no question about returning to Ken Garff to purchase a replacement. I made one phone call to Tyler Briscoe, explained the circumstances and asked if he would be willing to replace my Accord with a new one at the same price and finance rate as we had paid for the first one. Tyler was very sympathetic to our situation and assured me that he would have a brand new, exact duplicate vehicle ready for us, whenever we were prepared to drive to the dealership and pick it up. I called Tyler in the morning a few days later and told him that we were ready to replace our wrecked Accord and asked how soon he could have the replacement ready. Tyler said he would have our new car ready and waiting for us that afternoon. The bottom line: I've never had a better experience purchasing 2 new cars. My first contact with Ken Garff Riverdale was with Tyler Briscoe. I had sent an email request to Ken Garff and two other Honda dealerships, requesting a quote and Tyler Briscoe called me that same morning , gave me a great out-the-door price and made arrangements for me to meet with his sales partner, David Jacoby. It's interesting that of the three Honda Dealers that I emailed, I never even received an email or phone response from the other two, and one of them is less than a mile from my home. My wife and I met with David Jacoby at the appointed time, he had everything ready, walked us through the purchase process, introduced us to Isaac Maw, who quickly and professionally arranged the paperwork and loan information and had us ready to drive away in a few short minutes. Isaac Maw is amazing with the complex piles of paperwork, forms, financing and signatures required to buy a new car. His friendly, professional and patient approach made the experience easy to understand and we found ourselves surprised at how fast and simple the entire process was for us. I've never seen a more organized, efficient and friendly closing process. My wife loves her new Accord and we really appreciate Tyler Briscoe, David Jacoby and Isaac Maw as well as the rest of the staff at Ken Garff Riverdale, Utah for all they have done to give us a great price, excellent and compassionate service. I have never been so offended by the business practices at a dealership before. My father was a car dealer and this was my first experiencing shopping the Salt Lake City area for vehicles. I went back and forth between Ken Garff Nissan, Christopher Nissan and was here looking for a Honda Pilot. We found the vehicle we were interested in and had the salesman start working the numbers. Another customer came in inquiring about the vehicle about 30-40 minutes after we came in, test drove the vehicle, and were working on a potential purchase. This man was working with another salesperson, Charlene Veeder, and test drove the vehicle after us. They then proceeded to start paperwork with this other potential customer while we were working with them. We had a blank check and 110% LTV we were working with. They pressured us into filling out a credit application with them and having them run our credit to seek potentially better options. The finance manager stated that the inquiry wouldn't affect my credit score which was a lie. The dealership must make money on financing with certain financial companies as they were pushing this hard. While I was looking over the numbers I had them go back and tell them we could pay for the sales tax on the vehicle so we could work the deal with the LTV we had to work with and he stated he would go back and have them run the numbers that way. While he was "consulting" with his manager, I overheard the other salesperson Charlene Veeder go back and tell the other guy that everything was approved and that they would have the same Honda Pilot we were trying to purchase ready in 20-30 minutes. The salesperson came back (I believe his name was Tyler) and stated that they couldn't do that because their "policy" stated they had to pay the sales tax and it had to be included in the final loan amount. I previously had two other Ken Garff dealers tell me this was fine and I ended up doing it at Christopher Nissan where I ended up buying my car. I argued that point with them, which they were firm was a "policy". I then asked to speak to the manager and they referred me to Andrew Garcia. I spoke with him about this and he kept referring to the policy that they couldn't work the deal because I couldn't take care of the sales tax myself (which was incorrect). My main concern and upset was over the fact that they were lying to me the whole time when they already closed the deal with the other customer in the very next cubicle! Apparently this is business as usual with Ken Garff Honda of Riverdale. Very unimpressed and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone! read more

We had a great experience at Ken Garff Honda! We went in just looking around at the used vehicles, asked the salesman Tyler Briscoe to show us the used vehicles that fit our needs and price range, he not only showed us everything that fit our needs but not once did he ever try to push us into a particular one, he also never tried to get us to buy new. My Wife and I really appreciated his very relaxed, non pushy sales approach. We have 4 kids, a newborn and 3 very rambunctious/active/sometimes noisy boys. By the time we got to Ken Garff Honda we had been to 5 other lots and it was past dinner time. Not only did Ken Garff Honda hook our boys up with some food, they let them sit in the waiting area and watch TV while my wife and I took turns test driving cars and tried to work a deal. Tyler was even patient with us when we told him that we needed to go home to consider all of our options and that we still wanted to see what else was out there. Not once did he seem put out, irritated, or get pushy with us. Great Job Tyler, we will be returning to you when we are ready to buy again. This review should be 5 stars, there is only one reason that it isn't. Your guys finance guy is a little impersonal, by this I just mean he didn't really seem to give a dang he seemed a bit irritated when we asked questions, and slightly irritated with the baby being in there, and not very willing to have a conversation. I understand that this is the last part of the car buying process and that you guys have already sold a car at this point and very few if any people would back out at that particular spot I also get that this is a job and that this guy isn't there to be my friend.... however I didn't like going from feeling like your company cared and wanted to help me to what this gentleman put across which was kind of a "meh I could really do without these people in my office, and just want to get the deal done and them to leave" I'm not saying that's what it was, but that was the vibe my wife and I both got. Maybe he was having a bad day or maybe that's just his personality, either way it would be a shame to put all that time in to a customer and have them walk out right when the papers are ready to be signed. Other then that, 5 STAR service guys! You were very helpful, polite, friendly, and most important of all NOT pushy! I recently purchased a used car from Ken Garff Riverdale, I was surprised at the lack of B.S. involved in this transaction, like about 50% of the population, I completely wrecked my credit in my early adult years and have been working on repairing the damage ever since so I made the commitment to not get screwed on this car purchase! I had been to 10 different dealerships and successfully thwarted numerous attempts to pull my credit, in fact I was hoping to get in.. look at the type of car I wanted and get out before getting hijacked by sales weenies. I was surprised to meet Marlin who was honest and forthcoming with all the information that he had about the car, we took a drive and I decided to purchase this car. I was however worried about the rest of the process, the terrible 4 square.. the dreaded finance manager.. and worst of it all.. the bank approval, which will certainly be at a percentage that makes me relive and regret every bad credit decision I have ever made.. this is going to ruin my so far good day. The negotiation was simple, I told Marlin what I could pay, He brought Brian the sales manager over and we worked it out. (including a fair valuation and offer my woeful trade in that Brian actually took for a drive, they must be serious!) So far so good, next up.. finance dept. I didn't really want to endure the torture so I went to Starbucks and got a coffee, prepared myself for WAR! Once more, unto the breach! Armed with only my wits and 6 shots of espresso in a little cup, I braced for the long haul.. shrouded insults, disappointment and worst of all never being able to eat at chilli's again due to it's proximity to the lot. I sat down, Merlin and Brian came over and excitedly showed me the lowest interest rate I have seen in a decade and a payment that was exactly where I wanted it. 30 minutes later I drove home (fully expecting an entire busload of exotic B.S. from the bank the following Monday cause this was far too easy) Monday came and went.. no B.S. only a call from Marlin thanking me for my business. My husband and I had the greatest experience buying a car today! From the time we walked in to when we drove out car off the lot! We never felt pressure just a warm atmosphere to spite the rain outside. Phil Naluai was amazing! He worked several hours getting us the best credit rate they could. Patiently waiting and keeping us informed the whole time! Phil was professional and friendly. Phil kept checking on us as we had to wait to sign paired at the end. Making sure we knew exactly what was going on and why the long wait. Richard Ley was our salesman. It was a busy day and he had a lot going on but we felt like we were very important to him as a potential buyer. Honest friendly and professional! He did s great job checking in us as well and asking others to keep an eye out if we needed anything since he was busy. Please tell Phil and Ruchard thank you ! Kathleen contacted us within a very short time of inputting our information on line. She did s great job working with Phil and Richard as well. She came to meet us and talked with my husband and I when we err leaving. She said to call her with any questions. We had the best sales team! My husband or myself definitely consider this our best experience buying a car we have ever had because of these three. Darren Jonhson was so busy helping everyone get their final paperwork done and loans but he was very professional and friendly as well. He did not stop the whole 4hours we were there. I've driven a Honda Accord for the last 8 years and sold it within 24 hours. I went searching for an all black Honda Accord 2.0 Sport and stopped in at the Ken Garff Honda Riverdale store. From the beginning to the end it was a journey, and one that I'm pleased to report had a wonderful outcome with Sale Consultant, Mario Saucedo. Ken Garff did not have an all black on their lot, so Mario started searching around and found one in Orem. When the car arrived and my wife and I drove it, we knew we wanted the vehicle. As we meet with Mario, he pointed out minor scratches to the hood and rear truck of the vehicle. When we drove the vehicle, it had rained and some snowed which made it difficult to see these scratches. However, Mario without hesitation was honest and upfront with us knowing he could possibly lose a sale. As a former LEO, integrity and professionalism are two of the most important traits one must always possess. With Mario, he stepped up showed great integrity and professionalism. This made me an my wife decide to not purchase the black Honda; however, we knew that because of Mario's integrity we were not going to go anywhere else. So, Mario started searching again and found us a nice white Honda Accord, 2.0 Sport within 12 hours, made a trade with another dealership and called us to come check it out. After a thorough check of the vehicle, we decided to make the purchase. Over the past four years at Ken Garff I have purchase two cars and leased one other. I can't express how much I enjoy this dealership. My wife and I love the cars we've purchased. It's no nonsense business with a family atmosphere. We have had great periodic service done to our vehicles and we get them back like new - washed and vacuumed. I'm going to name a few names at the store and I will miss more than I can remember. These folks have taken care of us like we were family; Jill in the service department - what an infectious laugh! She likes my jokes. Melanie who used to sit at the front desk and welcomed everyone who came in is so friendly; remembers names like you can't believe. She always says hi Mike when I come in. Mario is a great salesman. No pressure and knows his stuff. Dave who does financing is so cool. He can help so much on the finance side - has lots of contacts! I can't remember the names of all the others who have helped. The staff there is so professional and friendly. I purchased a vehicle from this dealership about a month ago, and my experience has been disappointing to say the least. I was informed that the fuel pump had been replaced due to a recall, but it quickly became clear that the mechanic who performed the installation did not secure the splash guard properly. As a result, the oil pan cover fell off while I was driving, forcing me to make a temporary roadside repair with zip ties. I reached out to my sales representative, Chad, who promised to call me back with a solution. Unfortunately, since that initial conversation, he has completely avoided any contact with me. I've left multiple voicemails and even spoke with the front desk, who assured me that he would get back to me. Despite their assurances, it has now been three weeks with no response. If you value good customer service, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The mechanical work performed here has been subpar, and my experience has left me feeling frustrated and neglected. I was extremely impressed with the service we received. My husband and I were searching for the Honda Pilot and knew exactly what we wanted. We test drove the car and fell in love. While we were in the process of negotiating and paperwork, they took care of our cranky kids by giving us some coloring pages and puzzles to keep them occupied. It really made me even more happy to be buying from such a kind and caring company. Steve, our sales guy, was very knowledgeable and went to bat for us when we were about to walk away and got us our number that we would say yes to. Totally awesome experience. I have been trying to purchase a new Accord coupe for about a year. I originally went to LHM on Murray, they took my deposit ($3k) and sat on it. I finally went in to Ken Garff in Riverdale and met Tyler. I talked with him and told him my story of trying to get an Accord Coupe. He said that he thinks he can get me the exact car I want but he wanted to talk with the person who orders the cars. The next day he told me that he could order me the car and knowing that I didn't want to put another big deposit told me that he just needs $500. About 16 weeks later, I got my car. I would recommend going to Ken Garffs on Riverdale. Look for Tyler, he will help you find what you need. Oh btw, the price that I got with Tyler was lower than what I agreed to at LHM. Very happy with the service and courtesy! We arrived with excited anticipation of picking up our 2018 CR-V. We then realized we had picked the wrong color from the online choices. As soon as we told Mario, he said it was no problem and they would check to find the car with the actual color we wanted. It was found in no time and would be arriving at their showroom. They were quick to show us to their lounge area which has an array of drinks and a pop corn machine! Once our car arrived they were quick with the paperwork exchange (since Vin #'s needed to be corrected), washed our new car and we were on our way back to Idaho. Yes, we drove the hours because they had a great 2.99% interest rate since we used their car buying service to suit our desires! Before we bought a new Civic here back in July, I always thought the billboards and ads with the giant ears were a little silly. The folks at the Honda dealer on Riverdale Road have changed my mind about all these Ken Garff dealerships! The quintessential car purchase includes many hassles and headaches, and yet we had neither. The price was negotiable and everyone we passed smiled, asked how we were doing and made sure we were being helped. It's surprising that the salesman works on commission, because we were not pushed at all. In fact, he suggested a cheaper car because he felt like it would be a better fit for us. The salesman I worked with was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, patient and supremely accommodating. We bought our car last year from Kyle Madrid. I HATE SALESMAN. I LOVE HIM. I have needed a new car for 3 years. The reason I never went in to buy a car is cause I HATE SALESMAN. BUT!!!!! When I meet Kyle Madrid at Riverdale Ken Garfff I will never go any where else but there. He was the best salesman. I had 3 hours to be in and out. I was in and out with a band new Pathfinder (LOVE IT) in 2.5 hrs. And he was not pushy. I love that. When I take it back for service he always comes over and says hi to me or my husband.
