My first yelp review!
The name on this listing is incorrect as another review says: It is actually Tre Belle.
Our first visit. This place has come up twice in conversations recently with people raving about it, so we thought we would give it a try.
Called to change our reservations twice when our party increased from three to nine and then to 11 and the staff were as gracious as can be in accommodating us: 4 kids ranging from 2 to 11, and 7 adults (inc one in a wheelchair, two with canes and one frazzled
librarian.)
The place looks interesting and when you walk in - it smells really good - probably the pizza ovens. Mouthwatering. Very pretty place.
We sat on the lower patio and it was easily accessible for the wheelchair and the cane users. The bathroom, too, was accessible (at least the ladies room.)
Very pleasant ambiance with lots of pretty flowers and a small fountain on the upper patio which fascinated the kids.
One note: once in a while, we did get a whiff of sewer gas. Not sure where it was coming from and it didn't linger. They may want to invest in some sort of fan system to shift the odor if it is a problem. It wasn't tonight.
The serving staff can make or break a dining experience and waiter Bryant was top notch. He is really an asset to the place. Very knowledgeable about the food and our food was served promptly. And what food!
We started with three kinds of pizza cooked over a wood fire: a FANTASTIC pepperoni, the Margherita pizza (cheese, tomatoes and fresh basil) and the cheese pizza. The best pizza I have had in ages. Thin crust, not too crispy and not too floppy. Pepperoni was NOT your average Pizza Hut variety - large, spicy and not greasy at all.
We also had the fresh asparagus starter wrapped in prosciutto and cheese. Expensive, but delicious. I have been disappointed with prosciutto in the past that tastes sour, almost rancid. This was just delicious paired with the asparagus spears.
The stuffed hot peppers were really good and HOT. Filling was great.
The calamari was crispy and melted in your mouth - not rubberbandlike as I have too often had it. And a very generous portion.
Main courses (two of the adults only stayed for apps and drinks):
My BIL had a fillet which looked delicious: thick and perfectly cooked.
My aunt had a mussels dish which she scarfed down. Since she is from the Pacific Northwest, she is SUPER picky about seafood and she loved it. (And the kids got a real kick out of the shells!)
My sister had the chicken parm and it was yummy: crispy and not greasy at all. (I didn't like the marinara sauce - probably the only thing I didn't care for out of all the dishes. It was different than I expected, but not in a good way.)
Mom had the Tuscan Mac and Cheese (and I'm eating the leftovers as I type this!) Yum. Tender pasta in a cheese sauce (the waiter told us the cheeses, but I am sorry, I don't recall them) topped with buttery breadcrumbs, herbs and bacon (it's prob not bacon but something fancier - whatever it is = delish.) This is really good and the serving size was def enough for two people. This is def comfort food for grown ups.
My lemon chicken with roasted potatoes was excellent (be warned: VERY lemony which I liked, but it might be too intense for some - this is a dish you will either love or hate.) They debone the chicken which is a nice touch and makes it very easy to eat. The chicken skin was crisp and delicious.
They don't have a dedicated children's menu, but the waiter was great at suggesting options. The kids loved the pizza and gobbled up bowls of pasta with butter and parm cheese. (And, our waiter was savvy enough about kids to know to mention which of the pastas were whole wheat and which were "regular.")
My sister asked the chef (what a cutie pie, btw) where they got their desserts and he told us that they actually make a lot of them in house. We tried two: the panna cotta and the tiramisu.
The panna cotta was an intense hit of dark chocolate, pure and smooth. It might be too dark for some, but we loved it (even the two year old.) The tiramisu was the best that we (the three adults who tasted it) had ever had - just perfect. My four year old nephew came over and begged for mine so I think he agreed also. :)
Really, my only suggestion that I have is about the menu. It is very bare bones and doesn't tell you much about the dishes. I prefer a more descriptive menu, personally. I guess you are supposed to ask the server to describe the dishes (and ours did) but I personally like to read about them first.
Just an excellent experience and we will def. be going back. read more
