Schmidty's also honors their warranties. Recently, I got a message on my dash board that my tire pressure was low in one tire. It was from a nail or screw. Schmidty's replaced it under warranty. They warranty all their tires. Last week, my car wouldn't start. I got it jumped and learned it was down to 11 percent. I was encouraged by the roadside assistance technician to purchase a replacement battery with a three year life, but I chose to take it to Schmidty's out of loyalty. My four year old battery turned out to have a five year warranty and Schmidty's replaced it. Yes, there was labor, but the new battery was no charge. My previous experience for 20 years was with other service companies because I drove a fleet vehicle and was required to use certain brands. I don't recall ever being told something that needed replacing was under warranty. That is why Schmidty's shines, in my mind. I did not have to point out the warranties; they brought them to my attention. They also saved me having to get my vehicle towed by allowing me to drive it with them right away so the tire went flat and the battery died on their property.

About a month later, I found out the issue was actually related to a recall. That meant I could have had the entire repair done at the dealership for free. What makes it worse is that they clearly knew something was up they even told me they had to contact the dealer for information. Because of that, I ended up paying a couple THOUSAND dollars I didn't need to spend. In hindsight, they were aware it was likely a recall and didn't disclose it properly. Very shady experience definitely go somewhere else.

He came right back and said it'll be done in 10 minutes. Corwin takes payment, I comment that I'm happy to have found Ron Catt (they recently did my brakes). So 20 minutes later I ask Corwin what's up?? He went to the back and didn't show up until 10 more minutes went by, with my car, to the front, told me the technician was writing up a coolant leak, that's what was taking so long. Ok, quite a long time but whatever. Corwin hands me my papers, and when I got home I notice on the papers that the test WAS STARTED AT 2:36! I sat for more than an HOUR before they even started. I was lied to by both Jack and Corwin, instead of them letting me know they were running behind. Ron, please teach your front office how to communicate with your customers.

I have a 20 year old car and over the years I've been to many dealerships and independent shops across the country. I found Ken's Automotive on yelp and his outstanding reviews made me want to check it out. An annoying vibration sound came from the undercarriage. Ken lifted up my car and immediately concluded that I needed new mufflers. He called a muffler shop and conveyed to me a price which was fair. Truth is, Ken actively negotiated to keep the price down for me. To my surprise, Ken did not even charge a cent for the diagnosis and sent me on my way. Wow, what an awesome service -- I was impressed! Once my mufflers came off, one had a huge hole on the top side hidden from view. Ken's quick diagnosis was dead on. After the mufflers were exchanged I returned to Ken's to get an engine oil and transmission fluid exchange. He took the time to explain the various types of oil filters and recommended which one to get. Also, the type and quantity of oil and fluid I would require. I had the choice to get the best available products and additives without any mark up on some standard oils which shops usually carry. He is not only one of the very rare honest mechanics but he is also a genuinely nice man. It's been a couple of weeks now and I added several thousand miles and a million bugs to the front end of my car. Absolutely nothing is dripping. Ken and his tech, Dan, are a great team and they did a fantastic job. On top of it, he even gave me a discount!! Two thumbs up! If you are looking for a quality job at a more than fair price, Ken's Automotive is the place to go. I know I will go to him for all of my automotive needs. Too bad I can only give him 5 stars. I brought my 2008 Lexus ES350 into Ken's Automotive in Huntington Beach for a 60,000 mile brake service after being referred to Ken by our two sons. I was very impressed by the thorough inspection and assessment of the work to be done. I was experiencing pulsing in my front brakes upon stopping. Ken advised that I needed to replace the front and rear pads, resurface the rotors and flush/replace the brake fluid, The car runs like new, the brakes are extremely quiet and the job was done on time, with extremely competitive pricing. Ken inspires trust, competency and fairness in his approach to automotive servicing. I would recommend him highly as a very reputable shop for your automotive servicing needs. Whenever I have been in a pinch where my car is out of whack, Ken and his team have always gone the extra mile to take me in on the shortest of notices to get me on the road as soon as possible. It is clear that their goal is not profit, but to make sure that each individual that comes in gets everything they need for a price that works for them. I have never experienced such honesty from a mechanic really letting me know what is needed, what can wait, and what he would they would do if it were their vehicle. I always feel comfortable calling them for any assistance and giving them my business time and time again. If Yelp would let me, I'd give Ken's Autoshop 6/5 stars. read more

Ok here goes ,I have been a mech for over 30 yrs.. I now work on the docks on the cranes ..I know the value of how to do something and trying to B/S your way thru something. Also know the difference.. with the change in cars computers and all the tools and experience it takes to work on vehicles today, it only makes sense to Have Ken work on them. He knows what he's doing and he's not going to try and do more than it takes to get the job done. I have 6 kids even if I wanted to fix these cars I couldn't keep up...so Ken is the Family Mech, you can send your wife ,mother, daughters and know they are only going to get treated fairly.. read more

You want an honest mechanic?? They don't really exist too much any more. Lucky for my wife and I, we got referred to Ken a couple of years ago by a close friend, and I must say, this guy is the real deal!! Half the time I can't even get him to do everything I want him to because he tells it can wait and to save my money to take out my kids!!! I trust Ken. His prices are great and his quality of work is even better. Plus he ALWAYS does a little something extra for me that I didn't even ask for. 5 star and some... good honest family guy who takes good care of his clients. Highly recommend! read more

This review is way overdue... My husband and I have been taking our personal and work vehicles to Ken's Automotive for years now. Every single time, Kenny's work is flawless, and he goes above and beyond for us. He never tries to "sell us" to do any extra/unnecessary work. He is fair with his prices, and most importantly, he is really great at what he does! It is so difficult to find an auto shop that is honest, knowledgeable, and affordable. I have a 2006 Mustang and Ken has saved me time and money on countless occasions. From online research, I expected to spend $800 to replace the heater core that I suspected was causing a coolant leak into the cabin, but Ken solved the problem by replacing a piece that cost only $50, and took time to have a contact affordably fix another issue I had been procrastinating from. HONEST, reliable, and great prices. I took my car in for a tune-up, expecting to pay a 2-300 dollars, and he did a check on my car and told me that I didnt need one yet because my car was in great shape. Sigma Auto Repair did an outstanding job fixing the body work on my 2013 BMW 335i. I had a minor…read morefender bender but my insurance company deemed it a total loss only due to the age of the car. Sigma replaced the bumper, headlight, fixed the dent in the hood and painted the car. It looks like new! They replaced some hoses that were aging, nothing to do with the accident. They were able to provide the certification and smog check for the salvage title. They did all the work for under the insurance company's estimate. Sigma is a one stop shop for both mechanical and body work. Amazing service with a smile!
