Have been going here once a week during the pandemic to get either breakfast or lunch. Food is reasonably priced and a decent amount. My favorite is the chicken lemon rice soup! Staff is very friendly during these crazy times. Would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for diner food.

The Chicken Yeros lacked flavor and was bland.

I tend to order more than one thing when I go out to eat because I am always hungry. But it is not okay to me if the food is not fully appetizing. The Mushroom & Swiss Burger with Onion Rings and the Chicken Yeros should have been enough to satisfy me. To start, the burger could have been much better. The mushrooms on it were barely cooked and they did not taste like real mushrooms. There was also onions on the burger (which was not mentioned in the menu) but I am good with grilled onions. Like the mushrooms, the onions were also barely cooked. The onions were still really crunchy and it did not come close to the texture of the mushrooms. The chicken yeros was not anything special to me because it was bland. It lacked flavor and seasoning. If this Kerby's Koney Island did a better job with cooking the burgers and flavoring the yeros, I would be open to coming here again.

Me my Aunt gave this place a try after a cheeseburger sounded great to both of us on the way back from a doctors appointment today. Now like 8 years ago me and my other buddy stopped here before the bar next door for some coneys and chili cheese fries and for what we paid for them then, the quality sucked and the food came out cold so we stopped going. After the bomb ass cheeseburgers and zucchini fries we had today, they might start knowing me by name I'll be hitting it up like mad! Place was super clean and spotless, waitress were awesome, complimented the owner I believe and he said don't thank me thank the cook. Gave the cook a shout out there and he seemed like he really took pride in his work, which he deserves. Bathroom was super clean like it was new and no toilet paper or crap on the ground. I hope and pray this place survives a long time.

Went here for a late breakfast / early lunch and it was very good. Bacon was great. The "Kerby Sami" (hani) was excellent and super fresh. I went with the baby kerby and my buddy tried the full size. The difference is that the big is on 12" and baby is 7", but there is basically no difference at all. I'm happy I got the baby. I then topped it off with a coney dog, but it was just okay. Their hot dogs have skin on them or at least was more noticeable at this place (I hate skinned hotdogs). Overall very clean and good service.

Drive thru menu, so I guess a regular menu

I come here quite often despite it being like 15 min away... why do you ask? Well the food is amazing just like any Coney Island place, but they have chicken Kirby melts which are delicious, like seriously the best thing on their menu. My go to is a Kirby melt meal which comes with French fries which are crispy but may lack salt compared to what you are used to (definitely healthier). The melts are amazing and come with ranch dressing, the chicken is crispy and the cheese is good but what makes it the best is the flat bread it's on; something with that combination is bound to taste good. I have also tried their hot dogs and they are good; but try the Kirby melt it's the star of their menu. Now the reason I drive 15 min each way to get to this one is I'm lazy and this is one of the few coney places with a drive thru; and the service is quick and friendly even in the drive thru interaction.

As far as coney islands go, I really am a fan of this one. It was pretty busy on a rainy day and the service was nice and fast. I ordered a gyro combo and was surprised how big the gyro was. The menu is pretty big, the breakfast menu looked delicious and smelled delicious based on the food some co-workers ordered. Overall, better then most coney island's I've been to in the local area and a good place to go if you want to get in and out fairly quickly.

From the smiling staff, to the extensive breakfast and lunch menu to their warm and inviting atmosphere everything about this place is a gem. Come hungry because this isn't a place that skimps on the portions. Pancakes, omelets, sausage and their homemade bread is delicious. The side of pancakes is a meal itself. We enjoyed it all even though we couldn't finish it. They have an equally large lunch menu with Panini's, burgers, sandwiches and wraps. There is something for everyone here. We'll be back soon!

I wanted to go some place I haven't been before and this place popped up not to far from where I'm staying. Walking in, the place is clean with plenty of seating. I was greeted immediately and told to sit anywhere I liked. Fortunately, there wasn't a wait since it was still super early. Reviewing the menu, they have a great selection of breakfast and brunch items to choose from. I read online that they have chicken and waffles, but when I asked the waitress where it was at on the menu, she said it's not listed there and is an "off menu" item that could be prepared for me. After thinking about it, I decided that I was going to get an omlet instead. I got the greek omelet instead and let me tell you, the portions are huge! Food was absolutely delicious and I ate as much as I could. Service was fantastic and I didn't feel pressured to order anything that I wasn't comfortable with. Water and coffee were always full and my bill came in a timely manner. I will be returning when I'm on this side of town for a good solid breakfast. This place should be an example of how to do things correctly without over correcting or trying to hard. I love it here!

Note: Your entire party must be present before being seated. The restaurant is small, however, was filled to capacity. The service was excellent! A seasoned black male employee (I'm sorry I can't remember his name) was so helpful and charming in sharing some of the history of the restaurant with us. He made sure we saw their framed 2024 Award Winner Finalist for Best Breakfast by Click on Detroit - Channel 4. I had the jumbo cinnamon roll, french toast and fresh fruit. My dear girlfriend had the lobster benedict with the potatoes, tomato slices and cornbread. It was a great breakfast option because she doesn't eat meat. We both left here so full. We experienced why they won the award for Best Breakfast!

I used to live nearby about 25 years ago and remember coming to a diner in this area for breakfast back then. Fast forward to today--this isn't the same place, but wow, it's absolutely amazing. Right away I loved the vibe. The chalkboards with handwritten menu items and daily specials on the walls give the place so much character and charm. It feels welcoming, classic, and cool all at the same time. The customer service was excellent from start to finish--friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. I ordered the country breakfast, which came with biscuits and gravy, eggs, toast, potatoes, and sausage--everything was spot on. I'm usually not a big hash browns person, so I really appreciated that they offer an alternative to the shredded style. I went with the cubed breakfast potatoes (not sure what they officially call them), and they were so much better--crispy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. Between the food, the service, and the overall atmosphere, this place completely won me over. I already know I'll be back next weekend. Oak Diner has a really, really good vibe, and I'm glad I rediscovered breakfast here. Highly recommend.

It's light and airy and it smells of soap -- not nasty disinfectant, but just pure, clean soap. And it smells of nicely cooked food as well, of course. The waitstaff was very friendly and welcoming, which is always nice. I ordered the senior fish & chips and the server, Jennifer, asked me if I was old enough. I offered to show her my I.D. & she said she believed me, but that I didn't look it. Needless to say, that made me feel good. (Although, not to toot my own horn, but I don't look my age.) The fish was two big, thick pieces. I actually only finished about 3/4 of one piece! It came with fries that were fine but nothing special, and I got cole slaw instead of soup. That was good as well. But, it was also served with canned green beans. Just...no. My sister got a turkey club sandwich which also came with soup or cole slaw. She enjoyed that as well. And I loved that the iced tea was served in mason jars. Such a homey little touch! The prices were very reasonable as well. In fact, I think they were less than those of a fast food place we stopped at later in the day for a carry out! Definitely worth a stop -- nothing fancy, but it's good, solid food.

Ordered veggie skillet, bagel with cream cheese instead of toast, Greek salad, feta on the side and turkey Reuben with onion ring side. $42.75 Food was out almost an hour after we arrived, must be patient for your food to come out. Their cinnamon bread for their French toast comes from MO, why not get it here locally? The first coffee mug had some black stuff on the rim. The onion ring batter looks like, but it's quite heavy and soggy. The rings also smell and taste like fish. Must use the same oil as their fried fish? Not pleasant. I think the batter for the onion rings could be the same used for their fried fish. Their turkey Reuben is so-so, it's sliced deli meat. The cheese seems like cheese sauce. Nothing special. The bread is at least nicely toasted. The Russia dressing is tasteless. The Greek is old work out iceberg lettuce. The onions are big and not good for this salad. Dressing is thick and bland. The pepperoncini don't taste so good.
