We stopped in here for a very late brunch. Our server was super friendly and didn't make us feel rushed. I had seen this place pop up before and finally got the chance to try it. And it was excellent. My husband ordered the classic waffle with the chicken wings and the I had tried to order the salmon and grits but they were out of the salmon so I ordered the Toast Plate which was eggs, side of meat, and toast. I'm on this side of town dog sitting and didn't feel like going far for a quick breakfast. Since I'm somewhat out of my range for my usual spots, I stumbled upon Wayne's Waffle House entirely by accident. Being that it was snowing, I was tired and had a million other things to do, I decided to stop in and have breakfast here on the fly. Walking in, the place is large, but the tables and chairs are sparse. Not much to see here, but they seem to be holding it together. I was seated immediately and my server was attentive and nice. She snagged me a menu and they have a good selection of food to choose from. I ventured off from my usual eggs and hash browns for once and tried their breakfast sandwich. From experience, not all breakfast sandwiches are created equal! I was skeptical from being disappointed in the past. I also ordered a side of hash browns because I wanted to see what they were like. I got the sandwich on Texas toast and let me tell you, it was fabulous! It was egg and cheese only and so good. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the hash browns were as well. They were cubed style, with some onions and spice to it. I topped it off with a dash of hot sauce and boom, there ya go folks, good stuff it is! My bill was about $8 give or take, I can't remember the exact amount. Overall, a good meal for a decent price. Classic local food joint. The food is good, freshly cooked and seasoned. It was a surprise because we just pulled a random breakfast restaurant to visit. There was a steady stream of carryout orders. On top of that, a diverse bunch of customers dining in. That means this little joint is cooking right. The server was professional and attentive. The downside, the decor and flooring needs attention. I tried a new dish here today! The food never lets me down here! That jalapeño cornbread waffle is so good in those green beans were nice and tender. I always love the spicy chicken tenders... the mac & cheese was pretty decent too but it's a small portion if you ask me . I took my mom Tuesday afternoon around 12p. I absolutely love love this place, I have been trying to get here for about year and I'm upset that I waited so long to finally try them out. The food was amazing the waffle had a good buttermilk flavor, the chicken nice and crispy with the perfect amount of seasoning. Nothing needed extra flavor or seasoning everything was seasoned perfectly. The inside is clean very basic but clean. I would go back check them whenever in the centerline area. Almost forgot to mention they aren't expensive at all a little below $13.50 for chicken, waffle and potatoes not bad and definitely worth the money. Tucked into the corner of a strip mall off Van Dyke near 10 mile, this is a striped down no frills spot that looks like a 5 but feeds you like a 10. I had the Flying Bird--absolutely fabulous--and he had the Toast plate with turkey sausage and Texas toast. Service fast and friendly. The restaurant is clean and big enough for large groups. I stumbled across this GEM on Yelp and I figured that Mike & I would give them a try. I am sooooo happy that we did. I think we found our go to breakfast spot The food was absolutely great! My salmon was cooked to perfection. It wasn't dried out but juicy. The flavor went really well with the grits. Only thing I wish they had was shrimp. Adding that would've been a complete knock out the park. But it was great without it. The wings were good also. I definitely didn't leave any of those behind. Mike had the blueberry waffle and tenders. He was very pleased with the tenders and was so full that he could eat the entire waffle and all the tenders. His hash was pretty tasty also. The food portions are amazing! The only reason why I gave it a 4 star was because our waiter wasn't as attentive as we thought he should've been. He left out for quite some time and had to flag someone else down to get refills on our water/coffee, etc. However, it was still a great experience. The reason why I'm giving a lower rating today is because even though there were so many workers it was not the most organized service. I came around 12pm or so , so it looked like they gave me some old potatoes. They were barely warm and dark brown as if they tried to reheat them in the pan. We had a great breakfast here. I had just stumbled across it the day before on Yelp. I had the peaches and cream waffle with three tenders, and my friend had the caramel cinnamon waffle with three wings. The chicken was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The potatoes were good also. They have some amazing food. The servers are sweet, attentive and the food was really good! Food is made to order. The chicken tenders were cooked perfectly if you like mild seasoning. The atmosphere is welcoming and we were seated immediately. Also, witnessed one of the workers noticing an elderly patron in a wheelchair trying to enter and she came out to assist him with getting in which speaks to the type of workers that will be serving you. I waited until my 4th visit to give a review in case the food or service switched up on me. It hasn't. The food and service is consistent every time I have been in. Every waffle and chicken combination I've tried has been amazing (strawberry white chocolate is the best though). Spicy tender and regular tenders are both seasoned great and have tons of flavor. I actually stumbled across this spot on DoorDash and tried it for breakfast! I LOVED EVERYTHING I ORDERED. I got the Country Plate with a side of grits and house potatoes. It is a waffle topped with eggs, tenders, and turkey gravy. I wish I took pictures because it looked and smelled amazing. Everything tasted wonderful! The waffle was super soft and buttery, I almost want to say it was the best waffle I've ever had. The tenders were juicy and packed with flavor! That gravy and those eggs were soft and flavorful! Those potatoes were so good and the grits weren't seasoned but I didn't mind adding my own salt and pepper. My boyfriend got the Salmon & Grits bowl and that was superrr duper good. The salmon was soft, buttery, and flavorful. The portion of salmon was satisfactory/ nice sized. He also ordered 3 wings that were amazing. They were crispy but soft at the same time. Wings were great. Delivery also came with plenty napkins, condiments, and utensils which I highly appreciated because some places don't even do that anymore. I will MOST DEFINITELY be back because this food was delicious. I had to stop eating just so I could have some to enjoy for later.
