Had a lovely family group luncheon at Kersey House. Loved this southern home with all the character & charm. Our server was great, and food and drinks came out faster than expected. I didn't love my meal (salmon chopped salad- the fish was cooked well, but the salad was sorta a hodgepodge of ingredients and the dijon dressing was an odd pairing). But because of the atmosphere and service I for sure would try this place again. Fyi there is a handicapped chair lift hidden out front which was an amazing help for the older guests.

Lunch is the best here. Good price and choices. The French onion soup needs some work. It came out just barely warm & too salty. The grilled cheese & Kersey Salad were fabulous. The burger got rave reviews too. Service was great and nothing beats a restaurant in a cute house.

What a beautiful restaurant in the middle of town. Great service, great food. A perfect place for a quiet dinner or a large dinner party. I cannot say enough about this place.

I brought my mom here one day, hoping to try something new in the Summerville area. The house is absolutely beautiful and they encourage you to explore. The food is good, but very small portions. The service was kind and accommodating. It's a worth while spot for lunch on a pretty day.

This is large old home is a great setting for couples' night out. We ate upstairs and it was early, we had the room to ourselves. Cassidie our server was excellent. I was extremely disappointed in the changes to the presentation of the Lobster Bisque. In All the pictures you see a bowl with a beautiful puff pastry rising over top. The waiters overheard me talking to the wife about how disappointed I was in in the appearance and she explained it was still the same dish just in a different bowl. I respectfully disagree in that while I started to eat it, the bread was like a hard biscuit, difficult to breakup without spilling the soup over the bowl. The soup itself was very good, but as the saying goes, "You eat with your eyes first" and the new dish just does not look nearly as appetizing, nor does it eat that way. I highly recommend to the chef that they go back to how they served this dish previously. The wife and I split a Baked Escargot, garlic butter, with a thin bread topping which is a perfect way to serve this dish. The best way to eat it, is to flip the Escargot to the top and the bread on the bottom where it can soak up the wonderful Garlic butter. The wife and I also split the Ceviche, with cut up pieces of shrimp, calamari, bay scallop in a basil vinaigrette. The chunks of apple provided a bright and clean taste on the palette. I think the dish is designed to be eaten with bit of salmon roe with each bite for a bit of salt and perfect balance For my entrée, I had the Sea Scallop Risotto. This is one of the best-looking dishes I have ever been served. The dish had plenty of large Scallops, over a bed of Risotto, with roasted sweet cherry tomato, asparagus, shaved Parmesan. The dish was spot on The wife had the Short Rib Bourguignon that included roasted fingerling potato, asparagus, mushrooms, in a bordelaise sauce. She loved the roasted fingerling potatoes, but thought the dish was under salted, and the bordelaise sauce missed the mark. Overall a very nice meal

We had the opportunity to participate in the chefs choice dinner. This was the first time participating in this kind of event. The dinner was absolutely amazing. Each dish was perfectly paired with a wine or champagne. Our bartender and dinner guide Sandy was super helpful and informative with each drink and dish. The restaurant was super nice. The restaurant was build around an old two story house in historic downtown Summerville that was beautifully restored.

Visited Kersey House for the first time last night and from the check-in to the end of the meal, it was a delightful experience! I wanted to treat my fiancé to a nice birthday dinner and Kersey House staff pulled all the stops! The handwritten card and complimentary gelato was so thoughtful, I appreciate how the crew made him feel special. The menu offers a variety of options to please any dietary needs. The menu notates gluten free, dairy free items and even has a separate vegetarian menu! Our server Nathan was attentive plus the crew that brought our food and birthday goodies were so hospitable. For appetizer we got the fried calamari that came in bite sized pieces plus a fraîche to dip in and the crispy soft pork belly with pickled items. For my entree, I got the Kersey salad with a goat cheese roll and lobster bisque. The Boursin dressing complemented the greens perfectly. My fiancé enjoyed his steak frites lightly salted. The cocktails were refreshing - highly recommend the Kersey 75 and Côté Soleil. We managed to get the tail end of happy hour and they offer some great deals! 1/2 off cocktails!? Yes, please! KH also offers plenty of room for events like weddings and events. Found a parking spot easily along the tracks and liked how they offer a number of places to sit from the veranda to indoors. Thank you Kersey House for the stellar service and hospitality.

What a fun gem in the heart of Downtown Summerville! First the house is stunning. We opted to sit out on the patio, actually the wrap around porch and it was delightful! Our server was top notch! He allowed my mom and I to relax and enjoy each item that we ordered.. We started with the oysters!! Enormous and for $10 on Tuesday for 6 totally worth the price!! We then moved on to the escargot.. Hot and sizzling and delectable! We paired each item with a glass of their house wine - Pinot noir for my mom and Pinot Grigio for myself.. This little gem won't stay hidden for long! Can't wait to add this onto the roster of must eats!!

We've been twice (lunch and dinner) and had a great meal both times. Lunch was lobster soup and salad. Elegant and charming. Great food. Dinner was very nice. We sat in a small side room which was quiet and cozy. Fiancée is gluten free and I'm pescatarian, and we both found dinners that were amazing. They were very accommodating with gluten free bread and desserts. Drink service was spot on, well-crafted drinks. We will definitely be returning.

Kersey House has been on my list since they opened and I finally got the chance to get them out. I went on a Sunday at 3pm and they had just started their dinner menu. We ordered escargot, salad, and short rib. All three dishes were phenomenal and we were pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and attentive. The noise level was a little loud but we were sitting by the bar and they were finishing up a Santa brunch so several families were there. I can't wait to return to try more dishes!

Went here to try something new after hearing great reviews and it did not disappoint! We went for Sunday brunch and had a reservation but it was not too busy around 1pm. I got the croque monsieur and my fiancé got the biscuits and gravy. My dish was delicious and came with a side of crispy breakfast potatoes. My fiancés dish was smothered in tasty gravy with crispy biscuits. For a drink I got the Sweet Magnolia which was a little too light for me but tasty. The building has lot of light coming in and was very lovely. I will definitely be back to try more!

Came in for a 615 dinner reservation. Hostess was okay. Could have been friendlier - acted as if seating was a bit of a bother. Was seated outside on the wrap around porch on a beautiful evening. Waitress was super friendly and informative. Suggested drinks for us. Ordered the steak frites, scallops & risotto, and baguette (baguette was great but honestly feel as if it should be a complimentary offering and not $6). Waitress checked in regularly. Service was wonderful. Steak was okay. A little tough, fries were mediocre. Scallops were a real standout. Drink prices were a bit high- downtown CHS pricing in Summerville just isn't the vibe. Overall good experience. Would try again.

We went to Kersey House for brunch. Our reservation was for 11:00 am. I didn't realize they opened at 11. We were seated a little before 11:00. They have non alcoholic cocktails which I ordered one since I was driving. It's a small menu but we found a great treat in the crab Benedict. It was served on charred sourdough. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the sauce was delicious. The lump crab was just the right amount. It came with a side. The breakfast potatoes were crispy but lacked flavor. The atmosphere here is quite charming as it's in a charming old house downtown. We sat inside but will request the veranda next time.

**Review: Hilton Garden Inn, Summerville, South Carolina**…read more **Check-In and Arrival:** My check-in experience at the Hilton Garden Inn in Summerville, South Carolina, was exceptional, especially compared to my last five Hilton properties. The front desk personnel were welcoming and seemed genuinely happy to be on the job. I used the app to check in and select my room, so my stop at the front desk was brief, just to pick up a plastic key. The lobby itself is large and spacious, with a lively atmosphere in the bar and restaurant area. There are plenty of comfortable seating areas, perfect for getting some work done or simply relaxing. **Room and Amenities:** The hotel is quite large, standing eight stories high. My room was clean and passed the black light test with flying colors, as did the bathroom. I particularly liked the bathroom layout, which included shelves above the sink that provided useful counter space without getting wet. Typically, toiletries have to be kept on the same surface as the sink, where they are prone to getting wet, so this was a nice touch. Additionally, there is a night light in the bathroom, which is a nice touch for late-night convenience. Across from the bathroom is a closet nook, which is an uncommon but very helpful feature. It houses a closet with an ironing board, iron, hangers, and a safe on one side, and a full-sized mirror on the wall with three drawers that also double as shelves for extra storage. A notable feature is the barn door on the bathroom that slides on rails, adding a touch of modernity to the room. The room also includes a small nook with a Keurig coffee maker, a modern microwave, a lighted shelf that actually works (unlike my last Garden Inn), and a refrigerator recessed in a cabinet. Lighting in the room is plentiful. There are six different light sources from the front door to the bedroom area alone. The bedroom has four light sources: two lamps and two wall sconces. There are two lights in the kitchen nook, a light in the closet, a hallway light, and two lights in the bathroom. This provides ample lighting options, with the ability to set a lower ambient light if desired. The room also features a large chair in the corner by the window and a computer chair, which I'd rank as my second favorite in a hotel room in 2024. It's the same design as in a previous hotel but with a cloth finish, offering a comfortable and secure feel. **Dining Experience:** After a long day, I decided to dine at the hotel restaurant rather than go out. The in-room menu had lively descriptions of food choices, and I settled on the open-faced ribeye steak sandwich, served with lettuce, tomato, and onion on a sesame roll. Due to sensitive teeth, I avoid hard bread, so I was pleased to see that it was supposed to be served on a sesame roll, which is the traditional roll for a steak sandwich. However, when the food arrived, it was a closed-face sandwich on a hard ciabatta roll. The ribeye steak had been cut into chunks and was cooked well beyond the medium I had requested. The sandwich was challenging to enjoy because of the unexpected hard bread. The vegetable side was fresh and delicious, but the overall meal was disappointing. My server disappeared after delivering my food and only returned once I had finished eating. When I inquired, I was informed that the sandwich is always served this way, which left me feeling dissatisfied. **Nature Trail:** The hotel literature and online sources mention "The Hilton Nature Trail," so I decided to check it out before it got dark. Unfortunately, the trail is quite short, only extending about 100 feet into the woods before dead-ending at some dangerous debris and a drainage pond. **Nearby Amenities:** On the positive side, there are many food options nearby the hotel, offering plenty of alternatives to the in-house dining. **Final Thoughts:** Overall, my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Summerville was great. The hotel provided everything I needed, from a clean and comfortable room to welcoming service. However, the dining experience could use some improvement. It would be helpful if the menu items described actually made it onto the plate as expected by the customer. NOTE: I gave five stars for the hotel experience and did not include the food experience in my rating. The restaurant should be a separate entity that could be reviewed separately from the hotel. Overall the hotel is great.

You feel like royalty and are treated with the utmost respect. The hotel - is small, intimate and beautiful. It does not feel like a hotel, rather like someone's home. The rooms are beautifully decorated and you feel like you are in a different era. our room had a fireplace, huge four poster bed and a huge bath with a jacuzzi. Overall, just stunning and an experience of a lifetime. Also, in the afternoon we strolled the grounds and they brought out bikes for us to explore the neighborhood. So relaxing! The hightea and breakfast were outstanding. They think of the little things in how they present the food, which adds so much value. We had pancakes at breakfast with pecans and I can truly say that I have never had such amazing pancakes in my life. I love breakfast food and seek it out, but to this day I have not found a comparison to the pancakes at woodlands. I may go again just for the pancakes! The restaurant - it is a five star establishment and I would give it all five stars. The food is presented beautifully, tastes divine and the portion size is perfect. My husband likes various versions of mushrooms and told the chef that. He ended up getting a dish with all the different varieties. Talk about service! I loved my deconstructed ceasar salad and halibut. The dessert was so refreshing as it was a creme brullee with passion fruit. Overall, try a package if you must or just get a night to stay. Oh, and breffie the next morning? LAUGHABLE.....More tiny food (except thankfully I had eggs Benedict, and its impossible to make the eggs smaller when they are poached. Hubby had a ''3 egg' omelette that was definitely no more than one, maybe one and a half eggs tops. AND, the ''breakfast potatoes'' that came with breakfast, were chopped so microscopically, that u could not spear them with a fork, you could not even scoop them ONTO your fork! There were a few brightly colored onions/peppers in them, BUT they were not bigger than a grain of sand. I could just picture the poor chef standing over his knives, wasting his time chopping micro goods! LOL...i mean items. I don't want to call them 'goods', lest ye think they actually were just that......'good'. btw, the saving grace for you if u end up staying here (and please let me say, with the exception of the hoity-toity waiter, the staff was very friendly and VERY customer service oriented.....I will say that, we had no complaints there!)..... but your saving grace? That they change the menu daily!!! I wish like hell I had tried something off their normal room service menu, of a fish and chips meal, which was made with COD (good God, a 5 star place can't even serve top notch HADDOCK?) Cod is a lower-echelon fish! But in retrospect, I WISH i had tried it, it might have been good. BUT can u understand my reluctance to order something as plain as fish and chips at a 5star place? We were prepared to be wowed, and we were so disappointed! Better luck to you if u dare! :) I would go for brunch if u ever have an opportunity. They can't kill brunch too much, other than the TEASPOON of micro chopped potatoes they throw on your plate! (maybe ask for extra?) The Hollandaise was spectacular though, although i had to request extra! There was only a HINT of it on my Benedict! :o(

I didn't want to have to worry or deal with anything other than watching my daughter and her now husband enjoy the best day of their lives. With Tanis and Chauncey at their and my side the day was perfect. Hiring a wedding coordinator may seem like a extravagance but I'm here to tell you that having them with us made the difference between enjoying those precious moments or dealing with all the details no one thinks of. Thank you Tanis and Tanis J Events for insuring their day was perfect.

I wish we could give Tanis a 100 star raiting! Tanis is full of life and energy. She is so…read morepassionate about what she does and you can see it in her work. She is very professional and she knows a lot about the wedding business. My husband :), was not too sure about hiring a full service planner but after he saw how helpful Tanis was, he was fully on board with hiring her. She is very organized and handled all contact with our vendors. She came with us to almost every vendor meeting and made sure everything went smoothly. This lady LOVES paper work and I think that is great!! She keeps track of all contracts and notes every little detail to ensure nothing is missed!! (This really helped out when we had a vendor who did't show up to our wedding) She even came to help me with my bridal shoot and that was something that was not required in the services I paid for. She did it out of the kindness of her heart. She truly is such an amazing woman and I would recommend her to anyone! She also did our draping and candy bar and they both were a hit!! She's got an awesome sense of style and she captured my gatsby theme perfectly! Thank you Tanis for making our wedding day so magical! Wouldn't have been the same with out you!!!
