So the other day, because I enjoy the thrill of chaos and the risk of salmonella, I went to what I now firmly believe is the worst-managed KFC in the known universe, including whatever backwater fried-chicken dimension Kentucky Fried Cthulhu comes from. First, the soda machine was out of bubbles. Let me be clear: not out of soda--just out of the bubbles. This meant the "Pepsi" tasted like flat soy sauce that had been crying quietly to itself. But fear not! They had a backup soda machine, which was also out of bubbles. Apparently, carbon dioxide is a rare gas in this establishment, like helium or competent management. Then--because the staff was running a live-action performance of Waiting for Godot: The Drive-Thru Edition--they made an entire order for someone who didn't exist. An imaginary customer. Possibly a ghost. Possibly Colonel Sanders' ghost, who was definitely not loving it. When I got my actual food--which took roughly the lifespan of a mayfly--I noticed they had forgotten to give me drink cups. This was an odd choice, given that I paid for drinks and presumably they assumed I'd just lap it out of the mop bucket like a feral dog. Also, they were low on fries. Not out. Just low. So they gave me what I can only describe as the emotional idea of fries. Like a few potato wisps and one tragic orphan crinkle. Then I discovered they forgot to give me a spork. Which meant I had to eat cole slaw with my fingers like some kind of cabbage raccoon. Ah, yes. The cole slaw. It was warm. Not room temperature. Warm, like it had dreams of being soup. This is not the temperature cole slaw is meant to be unless you are actively trying to induce regret. And the chicken nuggets? I don't want to say they were made of rubber, but I bounced one, and I think it's still orbiting the moon. I give this KFC five stars for surrealism, minus four trillion stars for everything else. Would go again, but only with a documentary crew and a hazmat suit. read more

I was very disappointed. I ordered two chicken pot pies mind you they were hot, but I think they were overcooked. It was dry inside there was no creaminess. I've had them before in other KFC's nothing like this one this one I don't know if it was overcooked , but it was very dried pasty inside. I was not happy and it's not like I can go back and return them because I live 45 minutes away and when I tried calling, it just rings and rings and then they hang up on me. O.K., so we all are now paying top dollar for food, covering higher wages, inflation etc, but what KFC just served me was inexcusable. It looks like they actually butchered an infant chicken. The pieces were so small that I could not think they possibly could have come from a fully grown chicken. The server apologized as she was selling me these nuggets with bones. She actually put in 2 extra thighs from another infant chicken to make up for this. It didn't. I don't understand what KFC is doing but we all know that KFC is famous for some pretty good eats that we pay dearly for with big money. I've been a fan of KFC almost all of my 52 years. I must say that the Jackson location in the past 5 years has had it's challenges, but the crew really has improved vastly in just the last year or so. The building could use a remodel, but for the most part they keep it somewhat clean while delivering an excellent customer service experience, and delicious food prepared properly and in a respectable amount of time. Jackson, Ca KFC is great. I only ever get the original and it is always great. I go there for CHICKEN only. Most of the rest of the food is pre made and could be better. You'll be happy if you stick to just the chicken. read more

There is a secret to ordering- especially The Hot Wings and any chicken- you call ahead to order your wings cooked at thst moment- fresh- same with other pieces chicken, you explain your last vidit, chicken had sat, was dried and awful. They were very accomodating. It Takes 12-18 min for fresh hot wings or extra crispy/ orig recipe wings- go to drive thru to psy and sit and wait in parking lot- your order- hot n fresh will be brought out to you. For years I'd battle w the inconsistencies of Jackson's KFC- but WORSE... is Folsoms KFC! They don't accomodate nor do they care if they serve you bad stuff or Good. If I could give negative stars I would. This place is horrible. The guys behind the counter were coughing all over the food. One was even using his bare hands (no he did not wash them first) to take the chicken out and was coughing while doing so. The manager and one other associate were yelling and cussing at each other while we were in there. If you do not want to get sick from who knows what, stay away from this place! A little inconsistent, which has been a problem off and on for years at this place. And now the $20. "fill up" is $30, and no, it's not worth it. We have always liked the chicken pot pies but lately they seem a little dry, and too much white meat in them but that's just a personal preference that most would probably not agree with. read more

Horrible!!!! Yesterday my wife and I ordered eight piece meal, crispy with only breasts and thighs. Employee told be they had no crispy breasts (3rd visit here and they did not have crispy breasts) I told the employee to go ahead and substitute original recipe breasts. Asked us to pull over and wait for our order. 15 minutes later we got our food. Got home saw that we had legs, wings all regular recipe soggy greasy cold. Not what we ordered. Horrible chicken. I visit this KFC quite often. I have never been treated unprofessionally and my orders have been accurate 99% of the time. The one or two times there has been a mistake on my order, it was fixed immediately and I was given the extra food for the trouble. I have read the reviews and it saddens me that people only post about negative instances instead of sharing positive experiences. I have talked to several employees that work there and they all like their job and are not miserable. Several who have left to pursue other employment have returned because of the polite work environment. The air conditioning works as well. I have never been sick from the food nor has anyone in my family. read more

Worst kfc i have ever been to. Extremely disappointed again. Tried the nashville tenders and they were soggy not crisp at all. On return visit just now, asked if the tenders were crispy today she said yes. Then i was told no on choosing my own side because i was "only spending five dollars". I have never been told this, every kfc ive eaten at has let me pick a side. Garbage commercial prison quality mashed potatoes that i dont want. Terrible lack of customer service. Wow. Every time I go here, I feel like I'm deep in the south, chomping on some chicken. The food quality here is superb, I have absolutely no complaints. The chicken is the perfect amount of crispy with the right amount of savory juiciness. This place is clean, every time I go, it's spotless. And the service makes my jaw drop on their spotless floor. One of their members, Scott, is hands down the best employee I've ever seen. He's a great worker, is kind, and always makes me feel welcome. He definitely deserves a handsome raise. I've came here a couple times and I personally love KFC's chicken! I normally get the family meal after I go grocery shopping that way I don't have to cook when I get home so I just go through their drive thru. Worst KFC experience of my life. I ordered a five dollar box with the chicken breast. While I was waiting for my order I saw at least 3 people bring their orders back to the counter to complain that the order was wrong. After about 10 minutes they started calling this number for a few minutes, then the girl finally said its the 1 piece chicken breast box. I told her that's what I ordered but that is not my number. She said it's the only one on the screen so it must be mine, I asked her if it had coleslaw instead of the potatoes and she looked and said no but she will switch it for me I also asked if it really was a breast meal and she said she just checked and yes it is. Well I had saved this for my dinner and when I got it out of the fridge it wasn't a breast but a very small thigh, and I hate thighs!!!! That went straight into the trash, the biscuit was so hard even after putting it in the microwave I could have knocked someone out with it. Since I left my receipt on the counter so I could show the girl that wasn't my number there is nothing I can do about it now and its a 30 minute drive from where I am at. The food was either under or over cooked, and mashed potatoes were obviously old. My uncle just went there today and has been in the bathroom since he got home (which is why I'm reviewing now)! The worst KFC - poor management. Continually "just ran out" of Chicken Pot Pies "Call ahead of time". This is a fast food restaurant, you pull in on impulse most of the time. Stopped by on our way through town. Order not correct. When brought to young female employee she was highly defensive and then another young male got into it. Replaced item and I didn't think anything of it. Then, these 2 employees start talking about me -- HELLO I'M IN THE RESTAURANT -- and pointing. We are the only people in there. I told them that I heard them and the young guy said it wasn't bad. I told them that they shouldn't be talking about me as I'm the customer. Seriously? Just for asking for a replacement mashed potatoes with NO GRAVY??? If you want to be verbal abused then eat here. There are plenty of other places to eat where they know better than to talk about you while you are still there.
